This is one of those flicks that is hunted down by so many geeks in the genre. Sometimes it pops up on the Spanish Ebay site and it goes for a lot of money. Even as it is spoken in Spanish without subs. It was once released on VHS dubbed in English. That version is unfindable these days, and if it pops up you will have to pay a lot. But what's the fuzz all about. First of all, Nadiuska plays the role of a witch, nothing special wasn't it for the fact that she came out of the soft core genre, she even was the queen of that genre in Spain and Italy even as she was born in Germany. And I can agree, in this flick she is half of her performances naked. When stills of the movie are found it's always Nadiuska with her wet hair and wet clothes, oh yes, a very beautiful girl. In fact she's the most important actor here due that reason and why people are hunting it. She made her last flick in 97. Always performed in Spanish movies she never made it in major production except for Conan The Barbarian. To the point, is it worth hunting down. The story is very simple, this Miguel Iglesias Bonns-directed film begins in a French cemetery where Roger, a psychiatrist, and Frank, a reporter, are attending the funeral of their friend, Jean. Jean recently returned to France in a pitiful, half-dead condition from Spain. His friends Roger and Frank decide to head to Spain to track the reason for their friend's mysterious illness. When they arrive at the reclusive town Jean had last resided in, they find out that he had developed an obsessive friendship with the mysterious Maria (Nadiuska). The superstitious townspeople consider Maria a witch, while the town doctor, more favourably and realistically inclined to her, describes Maria as an "apprehensive introvert." Seeking respite from the malice and gossip of the townsfolk, Maria has left the company of men and women, and now lives in a lonely mountain-top cabin with her supposed father, Gabriel. Love blossoms again around Maria. This time it is Roger who is compelled by her obvious physical charms and luminous yet dangerous allure. Unfortunately, any amorous attentions Maria receives rebound from her with malevolent energy. In other words, bad things happen: windows shatter, pots fall from shelves, burning wood turns cool and ineffective. Get too familiar and you may wind up in severe pain, then gravely ill. A problem for Roger, so he hypnotizes Maria to find a clue as to her unwanted supernatural powers. In her dreamy past-life wanderings it is revealed that she is possessed by the evil spirit of a princess. It never becomes gory not even bloody, the only blood that flows is a bleeding nose. The effects are ultra cheap. When a boy goes to Maria with gang green, she can cure him, but the effect used is so passé. But it's watchable, it isn't slow and in fact it never is boring. The story goes on and on, and the ending has a nice surprise. I wouldn't say that this is a movie for everybody but if you really collect horror than it's worth hunting down. I can't say that it was low budget but it gives a nice reflection of the Euro trash of the seventies. Nudity was more important than the horror. It was retitled Rape, because she's raped, almost, by her father but don't expect to see some weird stuff. No just go and watch it....if you can! The only thing I can say is that it went completely wrong with Nadiuska. The legend goes that she is mentally ill and homeless and sleeps in the benches of the Barajas airport in Madrid.

First of all the film is called "Rape" yet there is no actual raping of anyone or anything...except your ability to stay conscious during this borefest of a movie. The closest thing to rape is when the father of the female star of the film tries to grope her for about a minute when he gets drunk. Besides that, there is nothing that is even remotely close to rape. The film is very boring and is an attempt at a ghost story (the furniture shaking and items falling off shelves is the closest you get to actual ghost activity) but fails miserably due to its lack of, well, a ghost. A few minutes of nudity are the only high points of the film, other than that its a complete waste of time. I've seen scarier things in my toilet.
  • This rarely seen and surprisingly obscure Spanish horror flick tells the story of Maria,a mysterious woman, who is suspected by local people of being a witch.Maria has left the company of men and women, and now lives in a lonely mountain-top cabin with her supposed father named Gabriel. One of the main characters,Roger, falls in love with her.Unfortunately bad things happen:windows shatter, pots fall from shelves, burning wood turns cool and ineffective.Roger hypnotizes Maria to solve the mystery of her unwanted supernatural powers. It seems that Maria is possessed by the spirit of the princess of Montezuma."Rape" is a little bit sleazy and rather bizarre horror flick with lovely Nadiuska providing some nudity. The script is nothing special, but the location sets provide plenty of eeriness.Director Miguel Iglesias Bonns is principally known for Paul Naschy wolfman movie "Night of the Howling Beast".9 out of 10.
