  • Warning: Spoilers
I was expecting this series to run out of steam by the time of HER FATAL WAYS 3 but nothing of it. Made a couple of years after the last two films, this one sees Carol Do Do Cheng and Alfred Cheung returning for a new, if familiar story. This time around their trip from the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong is via Taiwan, allowing for plenty more political humour, more extreme at China's expense this time around. They're on the trail of a Taiwanese assassin attempting to take out a visiting Chinese dignitary, but it's all really just an excuse for plenty of broad character comedy. Anthony Wong is a good replacement for Tony Leung and Waise Lee and the whole thing buzzes with vibrant energy.
  • Finally the China Gong on reached the nation which they despised yes.. you are right the country Taiwan... once reached Taiwan Dodo Cheng and Alfred Cheung comedy from food to dinner was hilarious... the third instalment was not really a fatal way but still be able to entertain the audience through some newer cast in the movie such as the Taiwanese brother yong and Anthony Wong.. the plot is simple but the task is not.. the infamous karaoke scene is another staple for Her fatal way.. still funny as Fark... the things I don't like about this instalment was the finale.. the battle was short and not choreographed accordingly overall should stop at 3.
  • This is the second sequel to the Hong Kong action comedy Her Fatal Ways, where Mainland Policewoman Cheng Shih-Nan (Carol 'Do Do' Cheng) has been assigned to protect Chairman Chien of the Communist Party Central Committee (Ming-yang Li) in Hong Kong. There, she deals with another Kong Kong police officer, this time with with Inspector Lu (Anthony Wong), but they hope to put aside their differences in order to prevent Taiwanese assassins from doing in Chairman Chien.

This film's plot, unfortunately, was not very entertaining as the first two films, as this sequel suffers from slow-pacing, less action and less humor. The attempt at comedy was mostly goofy and nonsensical stuff. The chemistry between Nan and Lu were almost non-existent and the character development was weak.

You might get a few chuckles here and there, and might enjoy some tense moments toward the climax of the film, but don't expect too much from the story as the first two films out-paces this one by far.

    Grade D+
  • I like this film even better than the first two, as it is very relevant to the current times. It is very funny as well!
