Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor!Since the early 2000s, writer, director and editor Mike Flanagan has been terrifying audiences with his horror movies and TV shows and is also a purveyor of great horror movies himself. He made his name with titles such as the low-budget and surprise success, Absentia from 2011, the well-received Oculus from 2013, and more recently, TV projects such as 2018's The Haunting of Hill House and The Midnight Club from 2022.
His work has been synonymous with creating unbearing tension, and character-driven narratives, plus he has also brought a fresh spin on horror tropes such as the often misused jump scare. Ultimately, however, his work has produced some of the scariest moments in horror movies, and TV shows of all time.

Singer and songwriter Sasami hits pop out of the park on her latest single “Slugger.” The record was released alongside a high-energy music video that drops in on an empty football stadium, which turns out to be the perfect place for her to release some rage. The single marks the first offering from Sasami’s forthcoming third studio album, Blood on the Silver Screen, out March 7.
“This album is all about learning and respecting the craft of pop songwriting, about relenting to illogical passion, obsession, and guiltless pleasure,” Sasami shared in a statement.

In Wednesday’s penultimate episode of American Horror Story: Roanoke, Audrey declared, “Everybody’s dead!” — which was demonstrably false, since when she shouted it Lee was standing right next to her, very much alive, thanks. Still, the outburst succeeded in impressing upon new arrival Dylan (who’d played Ambrose in My Roanoke Nightmare) that the goings-on at the Millers’ former house were “not a joke.” Of course, even if the reenactress’ exaggeration hadn’t done the trick, what happened next undoubtedly would have have gotten the message across to Dylan that the variety of s— he was in was the deep sort.

Lady Gaga knows a thing or two about making an entrance (see the meat dress and that whole egg thing), so it should come as no surprise that she's bringing her knack for theatrics to American Horror Story: Hotel. Gaga was spotted on set of the new season of the hit FX drama looking extraordinarily glamorous. That silver glove accessory? Something tells us there's a story there. Possessed demon hand? Who knows, it's Ahs and all bets are off! The singer's costar, Oscar winner Kathy Bates, previously teased viewers with just how fashionable Gaga's character was. "Was it Norma Desmond, Jean Harlow or Marilyn Monroe descending the staircase towards me in a shimmering silver gown? No, it was...

It’s that time of year again, kids. Dread Central’s 2010 Horror at the Oscars coverage. Horror was indeed present this year and in black-tie. While Roger Corman and Lauren Bacall were honored a few months back at the Governor’s Award Ceremony, it was an unexpected delight to see Corman, recipient of the lifetime achievement Oscar, enjoy a standing ovation on national television.
I was, however, very disappointed that neither of them were allowed to speak. Roger Corman’s contributions to modern cinema are too vast for him to just stand up and wave. James Cameron was one of many Corman acolytes present, and his nomination speaks to Corman’s tremendous legacy. On the Terminator DVD Cameron mentions, "I trained at the Roger Corman Film School.” Jonathan Demme, Martin Scorsese, and Francis Ford Coppola, among many others, were also former students.
The terror continued with a spoof of Paranormal Activity...

The actor has signed on to play a professor at an Italian exorcist academy in new horror film The Rite. Taking Max von Sydow and Keanu Reeves as hypothetical alumni, what would the timetable - and the lunch menu - look like?
Although the Harry Potter films have been good, you can't help feeling that they were missing a few key elements. Like, you know, green vomit and spinning heads and children being unspeakable with crucifixes. But that's all about to change, now that Anthony Hopkins has signed up to essentially play the Dumbledore figure in The Rite, an upcoming film about a young priest at an Italian exorcism school.
There's literally no guarantee as to what The Rite will be like. It's to be adapted from an investigative non-fiction book, so it could be a rational exploration of the exorcist's role in a post-religion world. Then again, it'll be...
