  • Please don't get me wrong by my opinion over the duo-comic top billing casting Zé Trindade and Dercy Gonçalves, both are great, however I have a special feeling by the harmless swindler Zé Trindade who portraits a crook nonetheless just pass on as smart guy only.

Although he was born on state of Bahia in northeast of Brazil he stablished at Rio de Janeiro as singer and comic character along his sojourn enhancing your skills on comedies always speaking double meaning language, as womanizer guy often points out the perfect bodies of the gorgeous girls and physical attributes as well, plus Zé Trindade jargon was one his best qualities and becomes in a true Rio de Janeiro's institution as comic character.

This feature comic-musical produced by Herbert Richers Produções Cinematográficas in late fifties was very popular, the full story surrounds in two leading casting Januário Jaboatão (Zé Trindade) indeed pretending be a richer cocoa farmers hosting in a five stars Hotel in Rio de Janeiro planning a burglary of jewels of wealthy customers.

In other hand also the widowed Ananásia (Dercy Gonçalves) thought in same manner pretending be a enriched woman from countless coffee farmers, both of them are poorest characters living for small scams, in such carnival season the seashore city Rio de Janeiro has received thousands of tourists from own Brazil and foreigners neither, in this merry environment is developing this comic-musical flick, mixing numberless singers playing their songs on breaks of the storyline.

Aside the main casting quoted above have others secondary roles that will be famous later as Chico Anyzio, who co-wrote the screenplay, Costinha as joker man and others, often the producers provides a sizeable gorgeous girls in short outfits to sugarcoat the audience, a kind of decoy to entice male viewers toward the theatres, Zè Trindade shines through like always, deserving my respect for him for so many laughs along the presentation.

    Thanks for reading.
