A tall attractive woman (Inga Swenson) shows up at the Stratford. She was once the maid there and George (known as "Brick" then) proposed to her twenty-five years ago. She told him she had to think about it. He waited eight years and then got a little suspicious. The strength of the episode is Madeline's description of her previous husbands and affairs. During this time she shows she is head and shoulders above Stephanie as far as a worker at the Inn. She cooks and cleans to perfection, leaving Stephanie filled with jealousy. Even Michael is given incredible lunches to take to his shoe store job. Fairly average show but still quite good.

Madelyn Stone, the former Stratford maid, shows up 25 years later to answer George's marriage proposal.

A pretty good episode and a nice showcase for George. Madelyn is well played by Inga Swenson (known for the movie version of "The Miracle Worker" and roles on TV's "Soap" and "Benson"). Some good twists to the story as we find out she was married a few times and has grandchildren now. Best scene is when George proposes again and she says she needs time to think it over! There are funny moments when she starts doing maid work around the inn and Stephanie gets jealous.
