Simple Story. The performances are engaging the whole time
  • Refreshing outside the box style Western. Beautifully written & shot. Acting is superb. Strong female characters. Very much enjoyed every moment of this short. A must watch!
  • As a fan and student of the western genre, I can assure you that I've never seen a film in the genre that tackles some of the aspects of frontier life that BURY ME NOT takes on as its narrative material. For this ambition alone, the film is to be lauded. For the simple, quietly fierce conviction of its acting, the understated handsomeness of its lensing, the simmering tension of its music, and the slow-burning force of its ultimate impact, the film is to be cherished. Seek this one out and see it if you can. It will be well worth your time.

The silence after the last scene remains the basic gift of this just impecable film. The cinematography and the acting, the delicate manner to explore sensitive subjects, a Western about minor characters of the genre, the great contrast between room and outside, the splendid construction of dialogue and tension are the good points of this real special short film about choices, truth, women and children. So, great in all the senses.
  • I so appreciate films that invite me to think about and discover the story rather than broadcast it, and this film offers that pleasure with intelligent writing and superb acting. Ellie Araiza captivated me from moment one with her rich inner life and subtle performance, as did the entire ensemble. I felt the characters' tension throughout without being able to predict the dramatic events that would transpire. The period was captured authentically with top-notch cinematography and rich production design.

It's hard to believe this was done by a small group of people. It's visually impressive and well-shot. For a Western, or maybe even in general, the story is unlike anything I've encountered before. Refreshing to get an original, well-written short!
  • This film is not only pleasant to watch visually, with great cinematography throughout, it is also well written and the acting is superb. The production value is phenomenal, especially for an independent film. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it!
  • What a beautifully shot short film. I really enjoyed every second of this very unique Western. A well-written script with unexpected turns. Wonderful performances by the writers who are also the lead actresses. Jul Kohler plays once again a strong female character with great emotional depth.
  • Bury Me Not features strong female characters and performances, as well beautiful cinematography. The tension of the story holds through to its surprising conclusion.
  • Ellie Araiza gives a thoroughly captivating acting performance in this well-written short that speaks to the female - and family - experience on the frontier. It is beautifully shot and, for an independently produced film, has astounding production value which you'll enjoy as the unexpected story unfolds.
