  • I love a bad horror movie. I'm okay with low budget and even less than great acting. I can even deal with a plot that isn't straight forward or linear. This movie was just....bad. I didn't turn it off, but I could have in the first half hour and wouldn't have missed anything by doing that. Watch it and decide for yourself, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Was really tempted to turn it off a few minutes in the acting was so bad. Then it got kind of intriguing so I kept watching to see if it got any better.

    It didn't.
  • It starts okay: A couple with the brains of an ameba and a young annoying girl trick or treater, who likes making masks. Interesting enough but, then it goes artsy and loses all semblance of reality, in a bad way. Lots of potential wasted. Reminds me of movies from the 60's made by guys on a psychedelic trip. I'm way too old to want to go back there.

Don't waste your time, it's dragging the whole thing. There is nothing but the cameraman playing with the camera. Trust me, those who gave 8 to 9 stars to this were either paid or people close to the producer to support him like some of them say it in the comments. Even from the trailer u can see how boring it is. Trust me, find something else to watch, and always check the reviews of those who r honest.
  • I can see what the makers were going for here, a sort of deep and arty film. But it fails miserably. I'll give it two stars for the atmosphere and the nice stage set, but it lacks a decent story and most of the time it makes no sense. This was probably deliberate to make it more enigmatic. But it's mostly a lot of not much going on, and even what does go on is shot so darkly that it's makes even harder to make sense of. I think it has some Kafkaesque meaning about creating our own private hell or something, but it didn't hold my interest enough for me to want to think too deeply about it.
  • "A Mind Twist", is my best description of what the movie will do to you. The story line will test your imagination and your understanding of life and the after life. The music and sound will give you chills and make your hair stand up. Sit back, relax and hold on for the ride!
  • This film has trash acting and cinematography, yes. But it also has the weirdest script I've ever seen played out in my entire life, and I'm pretty accomplished at finding weird, awful movies (Tubi TV makes it so easy!). This one takes the cake for being the weirdest I've ever experienced... and I kind of dig it. I've watched it at least four times now- I feel like it's boring into my soul.

The set dressing is actually kind of unsettling and the music sometimes drives that feeling also. I can't even tell you what this is really about. The filmmaker meant for it to be metaphoric, something that's shoved down your throat throughout the film, but what he means by the dialogue, I have no clue. I think it could be a metaphor for hell, but there are bizarre details that make zero sense and I can't stop trying to make sense of it.

If you like weird, unsettling films that make no sense, this is a must-see. Unfortunately, not many people like films that look like they were shot in VHS, so I don't see this doing numbers.
  • Psychological thriller short film. Excellent sound and effects made me jump out of my chair a few times. Lots of fun. Worth a watch!
  • I was reluctant and nervous about watching this movie since I hate horror movies but I worked up enough courage to watch sitting next to a supportive friend during the premiere. Where Is She? is suspenseful and the plot was thought provoking. I won't write any spoilers but this movie engages and challenges the audience to look beyond the surface to see the deeper meaning within the plot. If you like horror or if you're even a horror shy person like myself that likes to have a movie that will make you think, I encourage you to watch Where Is She?.
  • Is there something the filmmaker doesn't know how to do? What a talent to multitask and still be able to keep the quality of the work in a film production. I give a 10 to this film because of the creativity, story, production design, yet with a micro budget Jerry Wood still managed deliver 40 minutes of suspense. The cast were properly chosen. Great elderly couple and girl for the main cast. Masks and cabin were really creepy. Nice ambience and greatly done!
  • Such a great, suspenseful film. I'm so impressed. The twists and details were amazing. I loved every minute!!
  • A deceptively simple film with a labyrinthine plot that that will keep you guessing (and second guessing (your interpretations, this impressive debut feature film by director and screenwriter Jerry Wood will please both lovers of traditional horror and suspense, as well as those who like films that are more atmospheric in tone and plot. There are no easy answers given here to the question that the film's title proposes--it is up to the viewer to decide on their own.
  • This micro-budget film accomplishes a lot and punches above it's weight. It provides a creepy environment that makes you feel that "You are there." The cinematography really immerses you into the story. The tension continually builds, aided by exceptional use of sound effects and music cues. The story makes you think. It's set and camerawork are what you'd expect from a much larger budget film.

The story unfolds with a creeping dread and situation that asks the viewer to resolve. The props are masterfully used, as are the more subtle components of the movie. The acting is well done. Ellie Ash is a standout, very talented young actress with a bright future.

As a fan of indie horror short films, this is an excellent first effort by Director Jerry Wood/Zen and Chaos studios.
  • I do not like horror films but fully supporting a friend carries weight. Even though I had already seen a small trailer early on, every scene still got to me, and luckily I had an understanding friend sitting next to me during the viewing who didn't mind me clucking his arm throughout the movie. Admittedly I had to turn away here or there, but very impressed by the music, the camera work, and the overall creepiness feel that the movie gave off. (I guess you want that in a horror film.)

The conversations had after this movie were great. The storyline leaves you thinking while the audio and visual production draws you in. I would be interested in watching it a few more times to pick up on some more of the little details I'm sure I missed on my first viewing.
  • Jerry told me about this film a few years ago. I was intrigued as he told me of some of the storyline and after seeing the film - it didn't disappoint! It was very suspenseful and I was sitting on the edge of my seat through it all. It was downright creepy "in a good way"! The camera work was amazing and I can't believe this was developed by a beginner, emerging camera man and Director extraordinare. Unbelievable for your first film! You have definitely set the bar for future projects. Kudos to you and all your team.
  • In just 46 minutes with a tiny cast and a single small location, creator Jerry Woods delivers a story that resonated beyond the credits. The stark and claustrophobic setting, lit with the atmospheric glow of kerosene lanterns, supports a plot that revels in twists and loops to create a mind-messing experience. It begins with an almost banal set-up: Long-married couple takes a vacation in a rustic cabin. Then Reality takes a hike shortly after a young girl comes trick or treating. And never returns. The performances are solid and the flaws so minor as to pass right on by; a fright shot too quick for impact, shadows very briefly a little too thick, a reveal telegraphed. Not even these minor flaws exist in the soundtrack. The sound is layered in, subtly enhancing the visuals without distracting from them and the score crawls up your spine and lodges in the lizard brain where primitive fear lives. Mention must be made of the masks manifested by Dan Flanders. There are several but it is as if one is morphing into another. Collectively, they are a fourth main character and have much to tell. Jerry Woods has tapped into something that flows beneath rational thought and has such a deft and confident touch, I believe he could make a sunlit 4th of July parade a horror show.
  • A very well produced micro-budget horror film that uses atmosphere and a claustrophobic setting to full effect, Where is She? keeps you guessing. After the film is over you may find yourself pondering what you just saw, with questions that may elicit additional viewings. The reason I gave the film an 8 is that I do feel it runs a little long and could have been trimmed down. Also there is one character in the film whose part of the story seemed to be dismissed without explanation. Still, I feel that overall this is a film worth checking out, especially if you are an aficionado of the horror genre.
