  • Entertaining enough and keeps your interest. The cast has great chemistry and the locations are beautiful. Only an 8 because of continuity, the leads are wearing the same clothes although supposedly a day or two has passed. Overall a good watch. I'm a mystery buff so I'm addicted to Hallmark Mysteries.
  • For me , this whole series is great entertainment . And this episode, I loved.

Firstly , there is something so likeable about both leads , Jesse Metcalfe and Sarah Lind work really well together , yes I know it's not Oscar winning stuff, but, it kept me gripped and guessing !

The location is just beautiful , whether it is Martha's Vineyard or British Colombia, it is still stunning in my eyes !

I do recommend ,not just this episode, but all four , well worth a watch.

Light entertainment , good characters , and some mysteries to solve !

And of course, a georgous location ( wish I was there ) !!
  • I feel pretty much like I did after the first movie in this series.

Police procedures seem pretty lax especially with Jeff running around entering private property, questioning and chasing suspects and other things police are authorized to do. But he's not officially on the force and he doesn't announce that he is authorized by the police. And he takes Zee with him half the time, but at least she's the coroner.

The whodunit keeps the viewers on their toes. Like the first movie, the pool of suspects gets fairly large and there are some good red herrings. I thought I knew who the bad guy was until he was the first one dead. There were some interesting twists toward the end, especially about the broach.

Jeff and Zee are into flirt mode, but I'm still not impressed with the chemistry. Each one almost comes straight out and says to the other with little preamble "tell me your most personal secrets". That's one of the problems when there is a lot going on in a two hour TV movie - there's not a lot of time for being subtle in the relationships.
  • You know the main characters and you discover new details about their past. And the broche with emeralds is a good start point for new suspence slice, suppositions, apparences and just good end. It is just nice to discover crime in style of Hallmark. Because it works more than decent, because you suppose than Bob can be a better police man than chief Madieras ( but the kind ingenuity of the last works so nice ... ) and because the romance story has few very inspired sparkles. So , the emeralds and tartar sauce as good ingredients.

    Warning: Spoilers
    Jesse Metcalfe is back and the Martha's Vineyard police need his help again when two murders are committed after a valuable emerald brooch is stolen. As usual he's ably assisted by Dr. Sarah Lind who is the Medical Examiner and daughter of police chief Eric Keenleyside;

It was a group effort this theft, but they kill one of the partners with an unusual weapon and that's part of the mystery. Now the thieves are looking for the swag as well as the cops.

It's a nice story though in the end I can't see how the crooks thought they'd get away with their foul deeds.
  • Zee's friend Britt Prajna has recovered The Lakshmi Emeralds, a $5 million brooch, which her family lost long ago. A masked man breaks into Britt's home to steal the jewels and sends her to the hospital. Jeff and Zee go on the search for the thief.

I am more convinced than ever that Jesse Metcalfe and Sarah Lind don't have the required chemistry. The franchise should have switched her and Chelsea Hobbs. Somebody screwed up the casting process. It would be daring for Jeff to get into a love triangle. That may be the best way to generate more romance energy and quite frankly, it would be a good departure for this type of show to have more complicated romance. As for the mystery, it's fine for this type of TV movies. This franchise is more likely to rise and fall due to the romance rather than the mysteries.
  • Jesse Metcalfe is back in this thrilling Martha's Vineyard movie mystery series. This second installation revolves around a priceless brooch being stolen. Just when you think you have it figured out, the person you pegged for doing it ends up dead! The twists and turns in this movie make it very exciting! Terrific acting, great storyline and the cinematography is outstanding! Don't mess this suspenseful, fun movie!
  • 6/10 - run-of-the-mill HMM makes for a decent night-in

We really enjoyed this, though I figured out who did it by....I'm not going to say, you figure it out. The leads had very nice chemistry and looked good together, they were believable.

The reviews say this was filmed in British Columbia...duh and the settings were beautiful. Too bad it wasn't filmed in Martha's Vineyard like it was supposed to.

    Worth watching.
  • Dr. Zee Madieras's friend, Britt Prajna (Sunita Prasad), takes center stage in this latest movie, or rather her long-lost family heirloom does. The Lakshmi Emeralds, a dazzling brooch worth $5 million, arrives at the Vineyard after being pulled from sale at a Boston auction house. Britt plans to showcase them at her own Pendray Hotel and has invited the town's elite to join her, but disaster soon strikes. Not even a full day has passed before Britt is attacked in her home, the brooch is stolen, and someone winds up dead.

A fairly strong entry centred around the theft of a Rajasthani emerald which leads to murder and intrigue. Jesse Metcalfe is on the case again after saying he is retired hundred times to the police chief and he assisted by the charismatic and beautiful Sarah Lind. Love her face expressions.
  • I like that the characters' personal stories continue through the series and connect them, although the plots are different, so it's not necessary to see them in order if you don't want to. It was suspenseful and mostly unpredictable.

I loved this movie! Well-taken mystery that keeps you interested and engaged. Interesting story, terrific acting and some nice shots. Would recommend!
  • Warning: Spoilers
Very formulaic dialogue. No-one talks like this. Why didn't the actors do more ad-libbing? Feels like a soap opera! Worst part was the note, which they didn't explore till they ran down several other less worthy leads. Amateurish fight at ending

OK, I get the bar is pretty low for Hallmark mysteries. But, the plots have to be get better than this.

A priceless brooch is put on display for one week before being sent to the Smithsonian. Its owner is attacked and sent to the hospital in a failed attempt to steal the brooch.

In order to keep the owner safe from additional harm a friend fakes an elaborate robbery of the brooch. Why not just take the brooch to the Smithsonian a few days early? Problem solved. Apparently, a fake robbery was the best option.

Then, the fake robber is murdered. He leaves behind a cryptic note - obviously a clue to the brooch's location. Why the note? Was he expecting to be murdered? And why do our sleuths ignore the note for most of the movie?

As for our hero being "the best detective in Boston" he does very little detecting. He goes to point "A" and get a speck of information and then runs to point "B." At point "B" is gets a call that has him scurrying to point "C" and so on. It's completely reactive.

With all the money from those $5 Hallmark birthday cards they need to put on a better show.

Hall mark Finally used a guy as its 'expert detective', and it is extremely unnoteworthy --U lose track of what is going on after awhile, too many names, too much he/she dialogue in restaurants ---at least its not immersed in smoochy

--I guess women will enjoy it due to the man meat main actor

--But at the end of the day, if U like well thought out mysteries with interesting clues and so on, avoid this one

--I also found the male lead to literally be getting in other men's faces too much, my wife thought the same thing

    -Lousy direction I suppose
  • The mystery was a little better in this episode, but there is starting to be some recurring bits that are starting to be annoying. For example, I am tired of the references to his injury that has left a bullet in his back...he has back pain and was forced to retire from his job...we got it! And I am tired of the recurring dream of the night he got shot and lost his partner, either solve that mystery or move on...it is getting boring.

Not a very big supporting cast and the romance is REALLY dragging. I am having a nap over here!

Usually I love hallmark mystery series, with few exceptions...but this one just isn't doing it for me. Sorry. Can't recommend this mystery series.
