How could you not want to know more about a film festival where the acronym of it is Biff?!
We’ve just been sent the full line-up of movies that will be played at the third annual British Independent Film Festival which this year takes place 11th and 12th May. The festival is a great place to showcase new British talent and this year, the organisers (The Film Festival Guild) have arranged a fabulous line-up which includes three world premieres, which include Airborne (starring Mark Hamill), Jump which stars Glen Blackhall and Bashment which stars Ludvig Bonin.
We actually got to attend a couple of set visits for Airborne, both of which you can see here and here.
The event is set to take place around the UK with the fill location list below. Check it out and if you need more info, visit the official Festival website at www.

Clarkie (writer-director-producer-star ‘Q’) has just been released from prison and is staying with his brother, Barry. When Barry is found in his flat, having seemingly hanged himself, the death is pinned on “The Cyber Vigilante”, a killer who is tracking down suspected paedophiles. Clarkie doesn’t believe this to be the case and sets out to find the real killer, who he believes to be his friend Froggy. Meanwhile, a gang in London are using a young man as a courier to plant bombs, which will be set off by a new hybrid terrorist cell, Ir-Keyda.

When (or if) you think of urban UK film, you may immediately think Noel Clarke. However, while he may be the biggest fish, Clarke isn’t the only one swimming in that pool. Based on the cult novel of the same name by Q (aka Ashanti Power, aka Kwabena Manso), two years ago, Deadmeat won awards on both sides of the pond, Best British Feature at the Bfm Film Festival (London, UK), as well as an Accolade Award for Excellence (Hollywood, Us) and is now due to be released on DVD this week… in the UK, anyway.
Written, directed by and starring Q, Deadmeat is a gritty urban thriller which explores London’s gangland dark underbelly in a chilling tale of revenge killings and betrayal.
While Clarke’s earlier films, KidultHood and AdultHood, gained an avid youth following thanks mainly to their somewhat realistic potrayal of bleak UK inner city life,...
