The emotions this actor can convey without uttering a word are truly exceptional. This was a short and devastating film and yet both Bella and Safia filled the screen with emotion and longing surrounding their forbidden love. In less than a half hour I was ready to fight for them to be together; pretty impressive overall.

Evelyn's resignation about her future juxtaposed with Mary's more hopeful, seemingly nonchalant attitude is fascinating to watch riiight up until it becomes devastating.

Bella's performance during the final scenes is so heart-wrenching. No one does agony quite like Bella Ramsey. If you're into short, historically-inspired horror this is for you.
  • 'Requiem (2021)' is a short film set in England during the witch trials. It follows a young woman who must navigate her homophobic surroundings, including her devout priest father, to be with the woman she loves. Though there are stretches that feel somewhat dull and the pace is generally rather slow, the picture has a convincing period aesthetic and an equally tangible atmosphere. It features several solid performances, with lead actor Bella Ramsey doing most of the legwork, and its ending is actually really affecting. It's a profoundly sad story overall, one that unfortunately remains relevant to this day. It's perhaps a tad too long, but its ultimate effect is worth the wait.

An illicit romance between the daughter of minister and a young paysan in XVII century. The truth is discovered. The young woman executed for witchcraft. Her terrible death is seed of radical form of revenge of her beloved girlfriend against comunity.

The atmosphere, the inspired image, in which dark and fire light are used more than inspired transform Requim in more than a good lesbian story.

The acting represents another source of fascination about rules, options, naivety and duties. About a single father, looking for give same importance to comunity and to his daughter.

But, yes, the key seems be. Bella Ramsey. Not only for suggestions reminding Game of Thrones but for the force and fine craft of construction of her Evelyn.
  • I just love to watch that movie every weekend, the filmography and the storys both are so captivating. Sometimes I wish the Requiem that it a long movie, but it's perfectly like that way and I hope more people see this movie. The acting of these girls is absolutely immaculately it made the movie even more intense especially Bella Ramsey giving us an amazing dramatic performance. The whole scenario was meticulously thought out and detailed and I love it, the ending is even more surprising, in the end. Requiem is a film that is worth seeing more than once because the more you watch the more details of the story you capture and I would also like to point out how much the soundtrack left me with goosebumps, that's why I say it's a masterpiece.
