Dan is struggling with reality, Melody continues to look for her mother.

I'm not sure about you, but here I definitely got a few vibes of AHS, plenty of horror, but it wasn't daft, it wasn't overdone, nor was it needlessly gruesome, it was just chilling, the seance scene, one of the best things I've seen in ages.

All I thought was going on here, has been turned on its head, I'm not quite at the stage where I don't know what's going on, but clearly all is not what it seemed.

Definitely getting darker, and going further off the beaten track, this was deliciously dark and thought provoking.

The focus seems to switch from Dan to Melody, it makes it all the more interesting, Dina Shihabi was awesome here.

    9/10.
  • This episode was a love letter to the best of the best of this genre. It's evolving from a mystery horror to a commentary on the human condition. I love, love, LOVE the way we see things from Dan's and Melody's differing points of view. I also love getting more and more of the puzzle pieces that make this story so compelling.

The supporting cast is so well done and their characters are unsettling and lovely. The music, I feel, needs more accolades because it's brilliantly done.

Great twists and turns, acting is ok but as a long time fan of horror this kept me watching!! Reminded me a bit of the old Stephen king books I used to read!! The seance scene was fantastic !!

Finally a series where i can say for sure that defines horror.

You never know what is going to happen, but you expect 'something'. Like the horrible face, paused on tape. I constantly expected it to start moving.

I do recognise the 'dream' sequences now with the tiny green flakes going over the screen.

This series is just absolutely fantastic.
  • I'm loving everything about this series. Such a great cast and performances. The writing is awesome.

I'm so intrigued and I'm binge watching it right now.
  • Its best not to know anything going into this series. Must watch for horror fans. Not since hill house has a season of television haunted me so. I want more of this.
  • One of the best episodes I've seen in a long time in a TV series.

Amazing, spectacular.. the building up of events, things are escalating, and it gets even darker, I'm curious how it's going to be in the next few episodes.
  • An interesting episode where we learn more about Melody and what happened with her in the Visser Building. We also know more about Dan and his visions about Melody and their relationship. A nice episode with a very cool look and horrific. Was pretty good. Need to see more.

Episode 4: A great episode with near great everything, brilliant acting, creepy atmosphere, an outerwordly "summoning" seance, bone-chilling dialogues that passed long shivers over my neck.

The cast is wonderful in realism and the characters like walking "deads" as if all that building's tenants and guests passed away with their ghosts rambling the floors.

"I lived there since 62"... that phrase alone passes chills down your spine!

(S1. E4) My Live Reaction / Review for Archive 81 Season 1 Episode 4 ''Spirit Receivers''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. It seems like Dan is slowly losing it. I wonder what what kind of secrets are in the basement. First he saw melody in his dreams and now he saw her while he was awake, perfect. So now Dan is also having conversations with Melody? He is totally losing it. Its a matter of time before he has a full mental breakdown but I could be wrong. Wow someone was there before Dan and he knew the code for the doors in the basement? This just got more interesting. I wonder what happened to the previous guy. There is something really off about Davenport but I don't know exactly what it is yet. They think that they can talk to their dead loved ones through a medium? They say no to christianity but they believe in this? So dumb. Is Dan seeing Melody's ghost? What is going on? Dan thinks he can save Melody? But how? She died years ago. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.
