Neon has done a great job of promoting the upcoming horror film Longlegs while also keeping the story’s secrets concealed. Although multiple teaser trailers and posters have made their way online, we still don’t know a whole lot about this movie, beyond the fact that it’s scheduled to reach theatres on July 12th. But if you want to know exactly how much we do know about it, just keep scrolling down, because we have compiled a list of Everything We Know About Longlegs.

Longlegs, which is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers”, is the latest genre project from director Osgood Perkins – who, yes, is the son of actor Anthony Perkins, best remembered for his performance as Norman Bates in the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho. Fillmore (“Muertos S.L.”) to be later adapted for the Spanish-language market by Joan Vives, Ilse Apellaniz and Ricardo Avilés.
Said Tagliavini: “I loved the script. It was weird and hilarious yet also spiritual. And it allowed me to use interesting VFX and create original visuals, which is always a fun challenge!”
“Tequila Repasado” revolves around a workaholic who finds himself repeatedly transported back in time by a mystical tequila, forcing him to outsmart his multiplying selves as he struggles to mend his relationships with his family.

XYZ Films has acquired North American sales rights to the horror-thriller “Deus Irae,” the debut feature of Argentine filmmaker Pedro Cristiani, and will introduce the film to buyers at the upcoming AFM. Variety has been given exclusive access to the film’s bone-chilling trailer (see below).
Premiering at the Mar Del Plata Film Festival in November, “Deus Irae” follows Father Javier, a priest living a fractured existence. On one side, he assists families who claim to have witnessed miracles, and on the other he belongs to a trio of excommunicated priests who hunt the possessed down to exorcize them under their own terms: with Bibles, fire and shotguns.
But when the only way to crush Evil is by becoming something even worse, he must question how much of his own humanity — or sanity — he’s willing to sacrifice in order to defeat the Devil.

It took more than eighteen years for writer/director Nick Cassavetes to manage to get an adaptation of the Boston Teran novel God Is a Bullet (pick up a copy Here) into production, but he stuck with the project, and his film received a wide theatrical release last month. A week ago, it was given a digital release as well – but now it has come to our attention that there are two different cuts of the movie out there. If you seek out the digital version in the United States, you’ll find that the cut available is the full 156 minute cut. But if you go to rent or purchase the digital release in Canada, you’ll find that the movie has been trimmed down to 120 minutes.
We don’t know exactly why the Canadian digital release is 36 minutes shorter than the U.S. digital release. On the Blu-ray.com forums,...

Plot: When vice detective Bob Hightower finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult – Bob sets out to find his daughter, by any means necessary.
Review: Any film that deals with the endangerment of children is going to be a tough watch. I don’t even have children and yet this film hit me hard in ways I wasn’t expecting. A satanic cult kidnapping a little girl to do awful things just turns my stomach even typing it out. And as such, there are going to be a lot of people that can’t handle God is a Bullet. And I can’t blame them. It’s tough subject matter that will leave you thinking about it for days after the credits roll. But that’s not to say that the film is without its flaws.

Two of the most successful specialty films of the year expand this weekend and a handful of others jump into an arthouse market that’s seen few new entrants in recent weeks as wide release piled on wide release.
Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City jumps from a blockbuster six-theater opening ($800k over three days) last weekend for Focus Features to 1,675 locations today. A24’s Past Lives by Celine Song, which debuted in early June on four screens, expands to 296. They’re joined by a documentary on epic cyclist Greg LeMond ahead of the Tour De France, and the first theatrical release by Wayward Entertainment, launched in late 2021 by former Revolution Studios CEO Vince Totino and former Orion Pictures President John Hegeman and focusing on genre titles.

A movie about a pair of unlikely friends teaming up to infiltrate a cult is always going to rest on two things: the friends having chemistry and the cult being interesting. You’d really prefer to have both of those elements working for you, but a filmmaker can get by as long as one of them is strong. Unfortunately for everyone involved, “God Is a Bullet” has neither.
Nick Cassavetes’ adaptation of Boston Teran’s novel of the same name is an ambitious mess that features wild highs (a snake doing meth!) and impossibly dull lows (most everything else). Overly long and gratuitously violent, the bloated revenge thriller seems obsessed with reminding us of how much evil is in the world without showing the slightest bit of interest in explaining how it got there.

Writer/Director Nick Cassavetes channels the same grit of Alpha Dog for his latest, God Is a Bullet, adapted from Boston Teran‘s based-on-true-events best-selling novel. Only this time, the filmmaker doubles down on the bone-shattering violence… and the runtime. God Is a Bullet uses the sleazy criminal world, a talented pair of leads, and visceral violence to offset a straightforward narrative.
Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) lives a simple life in an affluent suburban town. He’s a desk cop and a doting dad who still has a close relationship with his ex-wife. The only lead to finding them comes from Case Hardin (Maika Monroe), a former cult member turned escapee. Adapted from the author’s 1999 debut novel, “God Is A Bullet” is the first screen translation of a work by one Boston Teran, a prolific but pseudononymous scribe of popular page-turners. Those tomes have been well-received by thriller fans, though others have speculated they might be a genre put-on penned by possibly more than one well-known literary figure. Nick Cassavetes’ slick adaptation certainly maintains the book’s mix of lurid incident and pontificating pretentiousness — albeit without the kind of intensity that might have made this far-fetched story credible, or the atmospheric style that might’ve pulled it off as a fevered nightmare à la David Lynch instead.
These 156 minutes, with cop Nicolaj Coster-Waldau and escaped captive Maika Monroe pursuing the cult of devil-worshipping scumbags who’ve kidnapped his daughter, are not exactly dull. But they are rather ludicrous, without being much fun. It’s hard not to imagine this overlong,...

Nick Cassavetes’s God Is a Bullet begins with a bloodthirsty satanic cult laying siege to a suburban household. From the gruesome detail with which the campaign of rape and torture is depicted to the thunderous sound design and rapid clip of the editing, the sequence is an all-out assault on the viewer’s senses. And the rest of the film, which Cassavetes adapted from Boston Teran’s 1999 novel of the same name, follows suit.
When Detective Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Wadlau) arrives on the scene the next day, he finds that his ex-wife and her new partner have been gruesomely murdered, and his teenage daughter has been kidnapped. In true ’80s action-hero fashion, he quickly realizes that, given the bumbling official investigations into the crime, he’ll have to take matters into his own hands if he ever wants to see her again. Revenge thrillers tend to be most effective when they’re lean and mean. Such is definitely not the case with the new film from writer-director Nick Cassavetes, his first since 2014’s The Other Woman. Based on Boston Teran’s well-received 1999 novel, God Is a Bullet squanders its provocative premise with a ridiculously bloated running time (155 minutes, and you feel every one of them) and gratuitous violence that lends a cartoonish sheen to a story aspiring to gritty realness. Despite its talented cast, who demonstrate a willingness to go for broke in their portrayals, the film comes across like a pretentious version of an ‘80s-era Charles Bronson actioner.
Actually, Bronson would have been perfect for the role of detective Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), whose ex-wife and her new husband are brutally murdered by the members of a cult who seemed to have watched The Hills Have Eyes too many times. In...

There are certain types of narrative which have been massively overindulged in cinema and yet which we rarely see delivered today with any kind of commitment. They flourish in pulp novels like Boston Teran’s God Is A Bullet (better written than most of its ilk and so fairly successful) and crude versions populate the straight-to-video archives. The fantasy of a male-centred plot based on the rape, murder and kidnap of poor helpless women is clearly problematic, so if a film is going to get away with it and retain any pretence of artistic vision then it needs three things: great characters, visual flair and enough self-belief to overcome the silliness of it all. Nich Cassavetes’ latest effort has a lot of problems, but just about pulls this off.
Cassavetes’ biggest asset is his actors. Nikolai Coster-Waldau struggles a little with the more prim aspects of his character, detective-turned-vigilante Bob Hightower,...

"The Flash"'s premiere was a family affair for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The actor brought daughters Filippa, 22, and Safina, 19, to celebrate the superhero film's debut in Los Angeles on June 12, marking a rare appearance for the trio. They posed together on the red carpet wearing casual-chic outfits - Nikolaj layered a chartreuse top under a gray plaid suit, Safina paired a beige jacket with gray pants, and Filippa wore a black long-sleeved dress with brown cowboy boots. Other stars in attendance included Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, and Jessica Chastain.
Nikolaj shares Filippa and Safina with his wife, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, whom he married in 1998. Both Filippa and Safina are following in their father's footsteps as actors, portraying sisters in the Danish teen drama "Salsa," among other roles. Though Nikolaj tends to keep his family life pretty private, he's made a few public appearances with his daughters through the years.

"Let's send Cyrus a message!" XYZ Films has revealed an official trailer for a gritty crime thriller titled God is a Bullet, the latest from actor / director Nick Cassavetes. It's set to open in theaters exclusively starting in June. When vice detective Bob finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult - he's frustrated by bumbling botched investigations. Bob quits the police force, gets tattoos, and infiltrates the cult to hunt down the charismatic cult leader, Cyrus, with the help of the cult's only female victim escapee, the brilliantly damaged, Case Hardin. Starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe, Jamie Foxx, January Jones, Ethan Suplee, Paul Johansson, and Jonathan Tucker. Cassavetes: "I've been trying to tell this great story for the last 18+ years. It's tough, violent, has two flawed and fantastic characters, and absolutely pulls no punches. I love it! There's nothing else out there like it, not even close!

Jake Lacy is taking the leap into marriage. No, really: The trailer for Paramount+ horror film “Significant Other” shows the “White Lotus” alum plunging headfirst off a cliff to his death mere moments after proposing to his girlfriend. Anything to escape the cage of marriage, it seems.
“Significant Other” stars Lacy as Harry, an unsuspecting partner who is head over heels (literally) for fiancée Ruth, played by “It Follows” actress Maika Monroe. The couple go on a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, where Ruth seems to tap into the more supernatural elements of the forest. As Ruth imagines Harry plunging to his gruesome death, the couple become more and more paranoid that they may not be alone. “Significant Other” premieres October 7.
The R-rated film also stars Teal Sherer and Loudon McCleery. “Significant Other” is directed and co-written by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, the filmmaking duo behind “Body” and “Villains.

Q’orianka Kilcher will star in and produce “Yesteryear” alongside a cast that includes Scott Haze, Wes Studi and Nick Cassavetes. “Yesteryear” is written and directed by Adam VillaSeñor (“In Full Bloom”) and definitely seems to connect thematically with some of the challenges facing America and the world.
The film follows Alma Deswood (Kilcher), a struggling, young Native actress who psychologically unravels in quarantine amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. As Alma’s mind is deconstructed, she is forced to navigate complex relationships, hallucinatory nightmares and painful memories taking her on a journey of introspection that twists the fabric of reality.
