Acting of Vaibhav, Karunakaran, Vani & MS Bhaskar was too good, although there are only about 7 characters in the movie. Felt like watching a drama, as number of locations in which movie has been shot was less, probably due to the budget. This movie is definitely made for OTT and not worth watching in theatres.

Forget the logics and just enjoy the drama...its not original but not boring... The problem is last 20 minutes and moral of the story... One time watchable comedy drama... Lower your expectations and its second worst of Radhamohan... -
gowthambct19 December 2021Nice picture taken in a theatrical style. But that is to say that the film style is problematic. That's shaped the mini-comedy film. M. S Bhaskar performance is commendable. Otherwise very weak making style. Screenplay, visuals, music..etc.

Misskayaubrey1 March 2022The comedy made me laugh so much - especially ms baskar. The rest of the movie not so much - maybe they could have made the wife character a bit more bold. It was archaic to portray the wife character as a not so bright village girl.

I watched the new Tamil comedy Malaysia To Amnesia on Zee5 w/Eng. Subs.
This movie could have been a lot better than what it is which is only slightly better than a Time Pass film.
Arun (Vaibhav Reddy) a successful young businessman with a wife and young daughter, is missing for a few days ostensibly after taking a flight to Malaysia. He is found roaming along the beach in a peculiar state by his friend Prabhu (Karunakaran) . He can not remember anything or anyone. Prabhu brings him home but he can not remember his wife or child. While this is going on, the wife's colourful mama/uncle (MS Bhaskar) turns up unexpectedly for a longish stay. Mama fancies himself as a good investigator of sorts and is suspicious about Arun and Prabhu. It turns out that Arun was having an affair with a girl in Bangalore but the Malaysia flight that he lied about being on, went missing. Prabhu helps Arun cook up the amnesia act to cover up.
The narrative continues with various stretched and convoluted twists and turns until the cunning end. MS Bhaskar as the Mama, and Karunakaran as Prabhu are the real stars of the show who keep this film going at a reasonably interesting pace. The other very well enacted character was the watchman (Mayilsamy). The film could have been better had it been shorter and the dialogues better scripted in a more humorous manner. Vani Bhojan as the wife is too naive a character though she redeems herself when she throws Mama out.
As I said, this movie had the potential to be a lot more humorous but was not. -
grarunkumar199416 June 2021Plot is based on the whatsapp joke that circulated during the Malaysian flight disappearance of 2014. Main character cheating on his wife has to enact amnesia to escape his lie of being in malaysian flight that went missing.
It is surprising that when filmmakers run out of quality story, they turn to social media jokes. It is irritating to stretch that one line joke to a entire movie.
This film will be entertaining to those who havent appreciated well written comic films of the past.
"Malaysia to Amnesia" is filled with soulless dialogues, boring screenplay, situations that becomes monotonous after a while and poorly directed scenes.
At every point we can witness the filmmakers struggling to carry the film ahead. This film can be compared only to senseless TV soaps.
Even the actors have nothing to perform. Karunakaran and Vaibhav were completely aimless, with no aura to keep audience entertained. Bhaskar on the other hand, made use of his experience to make his 'nothing to do' character, a bit interesting.
Astonished to see such high ratings for this non sense. -

Vaibav never disappointed us in his movies. Love to watch M. S. Bhaskar is acting. Priya Bhavani Shanker lovely home character. Karunakaran's timing jokes are wealthy enough for this movie.
