After a slow start to the season things are heating up. The fights were good and I loved the paralles between the beggining and end of the episodes. It seems like we are getting morgan edge back next week and I cant wait.

And I love the parallels from the bizzaro world, into this one. The Action has gotten better this season too! And the family drama doesn't feel too heavy, and it's good.

pauli_gomez6 March 2022I am glad we are having more Superman than in previos episodes. That said, I am still not interested in Lana's family. Also, the subplot about Jon is completely stupid.
But in general, I liked the episode and I am looking forward to the next one. -
ValiantWatchesStuff2 March 2022Amy Jo Johnson knocked the directing off the park. The scenes look great and the fight scenes are also refreshing and fun.
Bizarro is also developed more as a character, we get to see how he came to this Earth and how his life was before then. We also get to see the difference between the two Supermans, one pushes the troops to the left in a hallway fight (Very reminiscent to the Oldboy hallway fight) while being weakened by yellow lights, while the other pushes troops to the right while being weakened by red lights; One kills, one doesn't, One has a cat, one has a dog (Not shown, but we all know superman has a dog named Krypto), etc.. We also see the bonds between Jon and Jordan breaking, as well as the faltering marriage of Kyle and Lana. The drama feels organic and not forced, both sides has their rights and wrongs and really gets you thinking.
The dialogue is well written, the pacing is fast and well organised, and the overall direction of this episode is great too.
Definitely one of the strongest episodes of the season, 100% worth checking out. -
Nice bookend fights ( literally ) since both fight were exactly the same except from reverse angles. The avalanche sequence featured once again movie worthy effects. It's funny when people say soap opera but essentially that means the drama that normal people have in day to day life. Since the characters, acting and writing are all top notch then why quibble. This show excels on many facets including the soap drama. We all know who will eventually gain tremendous power and who will eventually team up to stop her. Can't wait.

robertdlar10 March 2022I agree with a previous poster, I do NOT care about Lana's drama or anything going on in her family. If it is not directly involved in the plot line its just 'filler' Focus on the plot and Supes family.
Also please try harder with is powers. Sure he has Super hearing but that is NOT how sound works. Russia is over 5000 miles away from Smallville, and sound only travels at the speed of sound (about 760mph) so it would take at least 7 minutes to reach his ears, the damn avalanche would be OVER by then. -
I was pleasantly surprised when they brought Bizzaro into the story, he has a great background story, a powerful character and they just decide some regular dude inhaling some drug is more powerful than 2 Krypton's and the mighty Bizzaro and easily kills the latter thus ending any great story they had planned for him.
Did the writer leave and let the studio chef take over writing the script?
Then we have the useless wussy Sons which add nothing to the story, old over used and out of date drug story, making a mockery of the American military and another old and lack of imagination cheating Husband story thrown in too.
Finally we have scrawny Lois who looks ill, and being the mandatory annoying female like Felicity from Arrow and Iris from Flash. Plus I am still expecting the writers to turn Sarah into a lesbian just to tick a box.
This has been one of the best new series around for a while, don't turn this into a family drama series, keep up the high octane sci-fi, crime fighting superhero that we know and love plus the many wonderful characters that he has encountered over the years in the comics and leave the filler family drama stuff to the soaps. -
Prismark1030 October 2022When it comes to the soap opera elements of the story. I think my brain switches off when it comes Lana Lane and her husband Kyle.
I really hold very little value to their relationship.
I did like General Lane trying to get both his daughters together. It was unconvincing that Lucy tried to bond so quickly with Jonathan and Jordan.
Of course it was all for nothing. Lois Lane soon brings up Ally Allston which then antagonises Lucy. It is a quick reset between the sisters.
The main story is Superman and Bizarro. The latter explains the danger Ally Allston poses. Of course it all depends on whether Bizarro is telling the truth.
I did not find Bizarro wholly convincing as a character. He would be powerful but for the yellow sun. It seems the writer have just not thought his part of the story through. Kind of make it up as you go along.
Also Superman was just too trusting of Lt Anderson. Someone who you'd trust as far as you can throw him and Superman can throw him really far! -

Well, worst episode writing so far. Clark arrested for treason to the United States of America. Oh no ! Oh my God! How is good old Clark going to get out of this one? What a cliffhanger! But, but, is not fair ! Clark is good, right ? Right ??? My whole believe system is now shaking.
I don't expect much from any of these characters arcs or stories, just the usual adventure style drama but this "bad" army guy plot was just too stupid for me to buy.
