Is Marvel about to use AI in Doomsday?(Photo Credit –Instagram)
While many think AI takes away the livelihood from humans, others feel it works like a helping hand and an avenue to expand one’s artistic vision digitally. The debate continues, and so does its usage. The latest addition of opinion on this matter comes from the Russo brothers, who have famously directed Marvel movies, in addition to a few titles of their own, including the latest The Electric State starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt on Netflix.
Will the Russo brothers use AI in the upcoming Marvel films they direct?
Marvel movies are known for their cinematic grandeur. The Russo brothers presented a stunning intergalactic landscape in Avengers: Endgame. Artwork like that takes time to produce. With the speed taking the lead against human production, it is an important question if AI will be used in future Marvel movies.

Audiences around the world are familiar with the brilliance of Anthony Hopkins, the actor who immortalized the character of Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. Reshaping what it means to be a cinematic villain, Hopkins delivered a career-defining performance, eventually winning his first Oscar for Best Actor in 1992. However, in 1993, just two years after playing the iconic villain, Hopkins gave an even better performance in James Ivory's The Remains of the Day. As Mr. Stevens, Hopkins tells a beautiful story of a butler whose life has been defined by a misplaced sense of duty. While Lecter was all about being cunning and charismatic, Stevens was a man trapped in the rigid structure of his own convictions.
Set in 1930s England, when the world was heading for a Second World War, Remains of the Day is a screen adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's literary masterpiece. It's a poignant...

The Multiverse Saga has had its fair share of ups and downs. That's a fair statement to make and it honestly doesn't sound that bad when you take into account the fact that all things tend have a healthy balance of both. However, considering that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga had a pretty flawless run for 23 movies, it is rather troubling that the franchise has suffered a number of blows in recent years.
But those blows weren't just in the form of underperforming films and a poorly-received Disney Plus show. The studio parted ways with actor Jonathan Majors in 2023 after he was charged with assault and harassment. The actor had portrayed the MCU franchise's new overarching villain Kang the Conqueror and was supposed to play a major role in future films as the Multiverse Saga's Big Bad, so his ousting threw plans into chaos, as the studio had to rework its big Avengers plan.

While PlayStation Plus is adding several new games to its library for October, including titles like Dead Island 2 and Gris, it's also been announced that several of the service's biggest games are leaving in November. Revamped in 2022, at least in part to compete with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass, Ps Plus offers subscribers a wide variety of games to download and play at no additional cost, with games being added or taken away from the service every month.
As reported by IGN, however, several major titles are leaving Ps Plus in November, including games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and four entries in the Kingdom Hearts series, including its most recent mainline game, Kingdom Hearts 3. The full list of the 21 games leaving Ps Plus in November is as follows:

It's been more than two weeks since The Bachelorette ended in chaos, yet disquieting details like "winner" Devin Strader's restraining order continue to emerge.
In case you missed it, lead Jenn Tran's experience on The Bachelorette concluded with a now-infamous final episode host Jesse Palmer repeatedly teased a "twist," which was implied to be Jenn's decision to propose to Devin first.
But the real twist was far more shocking and, as Jenn's protective older brother James Tran later observed, "needlessly cruel."
At the end of the episode, both Jenn and Devin appeared on stage, and the audience learned that their apparently happy relationship had soured almost immediately.

It’s been known for quite some time that Marvel Studios has fired Jonathan Majors and that he will not be portraying Kang the Conqueror in future MCU installments. Soon, following his dismissal various rumors appeared that ‘The Kang Dynasty’ would be reworked with a different villain as the main focus.
This made sense at the time, considering that Majors’ Kang wasn’t received all that well, and just a few months prior ‘Quantumania’ bombed big-time.
During this year’s Sdcc, Marvel Studios has finally confirmed the rumors. ‘Kang Dynasty’ was retitled ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and Doctor Doom is bound to be the next big MCU villain, but the biggest shock of the night was that Robert Downey Jr. will be portraying him.
Numerous fans had mixed opinions on this casting, primarily due to the most glaring issue with it – Robert Downey Jr. is already one of the most important characters in the MCU,...

Following the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qunatumania’ the superhero media world was shaken by allegations brought to light against Jonathan Majors, introduced in ‘Loki’ Season 1 as Victor Timely and in ‘Quantumania’ as Kang the Conqueror, the next big villain for the Multiversal Saga.
Jonathan Majors’ career has been in somewhat of a freefall ever since he was arrested in March 2023 after an alleged assault of a woman he knew and was rumored to be his girlfriend. He was laid off from several projects, his manager and PR team quit, and several commercials featuring the actor were pulled.
However, the actor maintained his innocence throughout the process, and his legal team assured him that they’d prove his undoubted innocence. First, they released text messages between Majors and the alleged victim, but that only seemed to backfire against Jonathan – at least in the public eye.

Real-life events inspire What Remains, a Swedish thriller highlighting the disturbing Thomas Quick case. The star-studded cast, including Andrea Riseborough and the Skarsgrd family, promises intense performances. Betrayal, manipulation, and a quest for truth shape the story in this psychological drama.
Academy Award nominee Andrea Riseborough and father and son duo, Stellan Skarsgrd and Gustaf Skarsgrd lead the upcoming atmospheric Swedish thriller What Remains. The film, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival last year, is loosely based on the story of Thomas Quick, also known as Sture Bergwall. Previously considered one of Sweden's most notorious killers, Bergwall confessed to more than thirty murders before later famously retracting his confessions. Journalists investigating Bergwall's case claimed that a "cult"-like group led by psychologist Margit Norell manipulated the police and Bergwall into making the false admissions.

This post contains spoilers for "Loki" season 2.
"Deadpool 3" — or rather, "Deadpool & Wolverine" — dropped its first trailer during Super Bowl Lviii and confirmed that Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) will be journeying deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Specifically, on the ground first tread by the Disney+ series "Loki," which wrapped its second season last year.
When Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox went through, the expectation (at least for most folks) was that the old "X-Men" films would be wiped away in a blank slate reboot. However, the MCU has since been pulling from those previously unconnected X-movies; clearly, Marvel Studios would prefer to bank on audience familiarity with Fox's X-Men. Patrick Stewart showed up in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" as Professor X and Kelsey Grammer cameoed as Beast in the post-credit scene of "The Marvels." In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, various versions of Kang are revealed, including Immortus, Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, and more. The Council of Kangs, taken directly from Marvel Comics, makes an appearance in the film's mid-credits scene, introducing even more unique Kang variants. How the MCU will handle dealing with the Council of Kangs going forward is currently unclear.
Although Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror officially makes his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, several of his variants from Marvel Comics have also made their ways to the MCU. Originally introduced as He Who Remains in Loki, the breaking of the Sacred Timeline brought forth many different versions of Kang, the time-traveling despot who has laid waste to entire universes in his multiversal conquest. The Flash was expected to be a turning point for the DC Extended Universe but ultimately disappointed, especially with its use of CGI to recreate deceased stars like Christopher Reeve. Reeve's appearance in the movie sparked a debate about the ethical boundaries of using the likeness of dead actors without their family's consent. Christopher Reeve's children confirmed that they had no involvement in The Flash and have not seen it, emphasizing that their father had a diverse range of roles and may have preferred to be remembered for something other than Superman.
The Flash was anticipated to be a milestone event in the DC Extended Universe, but instead became just another dud as the franchise wound down towards its upcoming reboot by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Phase 5 of the MCU introduced compelling villains, but not all of them lived up to expectations. Dar-Benn, Modok, Gravik, and Kang the Conqueror had their share of successes and shortcomings. Miss Minutes, Ravonna Renslayer, He Who Remains, Kingpin, Strange Supreme, and the High Evolutionary also left their mark as memorable antagonists.
The first year in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially come to a close, offering three films and four Disney+ seasons for audiences to enjoy. With only Deadpool 3 and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries left to look forward to for the remainder of 2024, Phase 5 is already nearing its final stretch.

DC's Elseworlds imprint is making a comeback, presenting the opportunity to revisit the concept of Superman's Green Lantern son from Superman: Distant Fires. The story of Superman: Distant Fires was set in a post-apocalyptic world, and featured Superman and Wonder Woman becoming romantically involved, resulting in a son named Bruce. Fans have been waiting for a follow-up to Superman: Distant Fires for 25 years; the new Elseworlds series presents the ideal opportunity to explore the development of Bruce Kent as a Green Lantern.
With the return of DC's Elseworlds imprint, the company has the perfect opportunity to return to one of its most exciting unexplored concepts: Superman's Green Lantern son from Superman: Distant Fires. With the Superman Family expanding in recent years, DC could bring the character into its main continuity; alternatively, it could return to the world of Distant Fires for a sequel, following up on the one-shot's dramatic conclusion.

Loki's involvement with the Kang variant makes him a key player in the developing Multiverse Saga, potentially leading to his return in the Avengers 5 & 6 films. Marvel Studios should capitalize on Loki's success by considering a third season of the show, as it has been a standout for the studio and one of the McU's most popular characters. Loki's return could occur in Thor 5, providing closure for Thor's character and bringing the two brothers back together after an extended time apart.

The finale of every MCU series on Disney+ has a climactic battle sequence, but Loki Season 2's finale is an example of what's possible. Loki's Season 2 finale was still a big, flashy digital visual effects extravaganza, but there was no punching or city-destroying violence. The "third act fight" is a superhero staple, but if the MCU is going to persist, it has to evolve past the staples into more cerebral showdowns.

Fans of Marvel Studios' Disney+ series know two certain things going into any new show: the fourth episode is going to blow up the series premise, the penultimate episode will break audiences' hearts, and the finale will feature a big climactic battle in the final act. Loki Season 2 followed these rules, but the climactic battle in the finale was unlike any that came before it.

Sometimes, you have too many irons in the fire and must take one out and let it cool. According to Deadline, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. Deadline says they hear Cretton’s exit is amicable, with the in-demand filmmaker remaining in the Marvel family for Wonder Man and Shang-Chi 2. Thankfully, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is years away from hitting theaters, giving Marvel ample time to reassign the Infinity War-level project to another director. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases on May 1, 2026, setting up Avengers: Secret Wars for May 7, 2027. The two event-driven films end the MCU’s Phase 6 timeline.
Cretton remains a creative force on Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man, which he co-created with Andrew Guest, who serves as showrunner. Cretton executive produces Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Filming for the Disney+ series falls under...

Marvel Studios may be moving away from Kang the Conqueror's storyline in the MCU due to Jonathan Majors' arrest and assault allegations. Avengers: Secret Wars has the potential to be the biggest crossover event in the MCU, featuring many multiversal versions of popular heroes. It is possible that a new villain, such as Doctor Doom or a transformed MCU hero, could take Kang the Conqueror's place as the villain of Phase 6's Avengers: Secret Wars.
Recent speculation has suggested that Marvel Studios may be looking to move away from Kang the Conqueror's storyline in the MCU, and Phase 6's upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars provides the best chance to explain this change. Jonathan Majors first appeared as a variant of Kang the Conqueror, He Who Remains, in Loki season 1's finale, and the actor has since appeared as several other versions of the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and...

Loki and Sylvie walked very different paths before finding each other, and the Season 2 finale gave them each what they originally wanted. Loki and Sylvie changed significantly thanks to their friends at the Tva and what they mean to each other. Loki's Season 2 finale is a great example of how giving characters exactly what they want can be the most heartbreaking choice.
The following contains spoilers from Loki, Season 2, Episode 6, "Glorious Purpose," now streaming on Disney+.
The Loki series is something of an ouroboros, with both the premiere and the Season 2 finale called "Glorious Purpose." The show introduced a variant of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Loki to the Time Variance Authority, which put him to work hunting, essentially, himself. When he finally met Sylvie, the murderous Loki variant who grew up hiding in apocalyptic events, they both wanted something. Loki wanted to rule and Sylvie wanted to be free to chart her own destiny.

For the first three phases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seemed to be bulletproof. Even when a wrench was thrown into the machine, and Marvel Studios had to recast for someone like Edward Norton or replace a director like Edgar Wright, Kevin Feige’s ultimate vision would keep the train from derailing. The studio’s bubble is currently expanding to the point that many feel it will burst from the tension. One of the biggest hurdles going forward is how the studio plans to handle actor Jonathan Majors in his role as Kang the Conqueror. Majors’ ongoing controversy and a lingering trial, which will either convict or release the actor of domestic abuse charges, is casting an unforeseen shadow on the future of the multiverse era.
Many have been waiting to see what Marvel decides to do with either the Kang character or Majors in the role. Some think they can...

Loki quotes two lines from T.S. Elliot's poem "Little Gidding", which reflects the cyclical nature of life and death, as well as themes of rebirth, redemption, and the contradictory nature of living. These themes are evident in the Loki season 2 finale: He Who Remains' death, Loki's sacrifice, the Sacred Timeline, and the Multiversal War. Through his sacrifice, Loki finds enlightenment, accepts the past, and helps reconstruct the Sacred Timeline as the McU's new Yggdrasil.
During Loki season 2 episode 6, Tom Hiddleston's Loki quotes a poem that illustrates the main theme of the MCU series. Loki season 2 ended by creating an infinite number of possibilities, showing real character growth, and giving a satisfying conclusion. Mobius might finally get to spend time with his children, Renslayer's fate is ambiguous, and Sylvie is now free to do whatever she wants. Loki has become an unfathomably powerful god, potentially even surpassing Kang the Conqueror, and now exists outside the multiverse.
Loki season 2 ended on quite a powerful note. One might even say it ended a thousand times before it finally ended. And even then, the series ended by creating an infinite number of possibilities. It’s hard not to conceive of how this might affect the MCU. The ending included that masterful stroke of storytelling, where everything ended up back where it started, in a way. It was one of those conclusions that didn’t just give everyone what they wanted but showed real growth in character as well.

Marvel Studios' Disney+ shows have delivered many powerful moments, but some of these moments would have had a bigger impact in theatrical releases. The introductions of He Who Remains in Loki Season 1, Valentina in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Skaar in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law were risky on Disney+, and potentially caused confusion for casual viewers. Secret Invasion, Moon Knight, and other shows had moments that could have been more powerful on the big screen, reaching a larger audience and capturing the scale of the scenes.
Marvel Studios' TV shows on Disney+ have delivered some incredibly powerful moments for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but these scenes might have been more impactful had they been in MCU feature films instead. Marvel Studios branched out into long-form media after the inception of Disney+ and the dawn of the McU's Multiverse Saga, developing TV series' separate to the previous Marvel Television shows.

Loki Season 2 explored more of the inner workings of the Tva like never before. Episode 4 unpacked more of the relationship between He Who Remains and Ravonna Renslayer, indicating that they worked together to win the Multiversal War.
It was also revealed that He Who Remains erased Renslayer's memories, strongly implying that this was the beginning of the Kang Variant's transition to the Tva facade.

The introduction of Kang the Conqueror and his variants in Loki season 1 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sets the stage for the Fantastic Four to explore his origins in the MCU. Kang the Conqueror's familial connection to Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four, could be established in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, further connecting the Marvel's First Family to the Multiverse Saga. The pruning of timelines by He Who Remains in the MCU likely prevented the birth of Reed Richards, explaining why the Fantastic Four have not yet made their debut in the franchise until now.
Marvel's First Family's late debut in Fantastic Four can be explained in the world of the MCU thanks to one major Kang the Conqueror theory. After the Avengers defeated the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios used Loki season 1 on Disney+ to introduce the Multiverse Saga's new overarching villain.

In the episode titled "1893" we see Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) go on the hunt for Miss Minutes (Tara Strong) in order to enlist her help in fixing the Tva. After the death of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the temporal loom at the heart of the Tva has been struggling to handle the growing amount of branching timelines that is spinning out from the central timeline. Without He Who Remains' temporal aura to open the blast doors, the entire Tva could be destroyed as the timeline and loom becomes more and more unstable.

Marvel Studios seems to be setting up a reboot of the McU's continuity that will simplify the ever-expanding multiverse and bring together characters from different franchises. Loki season 2 suggests that the MCU is stuck in a time loop, which means that a timeline reset could be on the horizon. Deadpool 3 set photos suggest that Marvel will unify all universes after destroying multiple realities, but characters from those universes may still make appearances in the new continuity.
Marvel Studios is already laying the foundations for an MCU soft reboot, which may begin in the Multiverse Saga's final movie, Avengers: Secret Wars. Do decisions governed by prejudice make way for determinism, or is it the other way around? Disney+’s best live action series, Loki presented this discourse in its first season, and has successfully held onto it as it progresses to the midway point of the second one. The team makes yet another journey back in time, and this one is a rather significant one in MCU timeline given the fact we are finally introduced to one of He Who Remains’ variants – Victor Timely.
In the previous episode, we learned that O.B was unable to fix the instability in the Temporal Loom, as it required the Temporal aura of the person who designed Tva in the first place – He Who Remains. In his absence, Miss Minutes’ presence would have sufficed, but she has been missing since the season finale of last season, as is the rogue Judge Ravonna Renslayer, and...

Season 2, episode 3 of Loki had so much packed into it that it’s hard to explain it all in one article. For the most part, this episode revolved around Victor Timely and what his choices might mean for the future. In a strange contest between Loki, Sylvie, and Renslayer, the ending of this episode left us in a very foreboding place.
There’s plenty to learn about this episode’s ending. Sylvie shoved Renslayer through a door all the way to the end of time, but she didn’t kill Victor Timely. These decisions she made will have lasting consequences on the future of the Tva and the entire Earth-616 universe. But what’s even more important is why she made them and what Victor said to stay alive.
There were secrets hidden in that ending as well. Apparently, Miss Minutes knows a big secret about Renslayer. What is it?...

Miss Minutes has a secret to reveal that could alter the dynamic of Loki and the MCU as a whole, leading to interesting theories about Ravonna Renslayer's past and her possible connection to Kang the Conqueror. The theory that Ravonna Renslayer and Kang the Conqueror were lovers in the MCU has solid precedence based on their history in Marvel Comics, which adds weight to the recording Loki heard in episode 1. The possibility of Ravonna Renslayer being related to Kang the Conqueror, either as an ancestor, descendant, or potential heir, could complicate matters and would be a surprising twist for MCU viewers.

Episode 3 of Loki has found its way onto the sacred timeline. While O.B. Loki co-executive producer Kevin Wright said they had a "what if?" moment in the writers' room, and considered having Loki revealed as He Who Remains instead of a Kang introduction.
In an interview with Den of Geek, Wright spoke at length about the Disney+ show, which includes long-term plans for Loki's story arc. The character has successfully transitioned from a hated villain in Thor to the McU's maverick anti-hero. It's even arguable that he has become an unlikely hero after the events of Loki Season 1, though Wright was clear to point out they tried hard not to leave this impression on viewers. It's evident Loki has always been a conflicted character in the MCU, but the series fleshed him out as a redeemable character and consequential to the fate of the Multiverse. Wright admits they even considered revealing Loki as He Who Remains during one of the season's biggest plot twists.

Warning: Spoilers for Green Lantern #4 ahead!
Green Lantern #4 explores how Hal Jordan's version of Green Lantern is stuck in the past, while other heroes have moved on with the times. Loki and Mobius hit the darkened streets of the Sacred Timeline in episode two of Marvel’s Loki, as they attempt to track down Sylvie by tracing the movements of a Tva deserter.
X-5 (rapper and Blindspotting star Rafael Casal) has made quite the life for himself on Earth in the 1970s as Hollywood A-lister Brad Wolfe, and it’s one that he really doesn’t want to give up, so Mobius and Loki have to give chase like proper magic time cops at the premiere of his new movie, Zaniac.
Also refreshing is Casal as the arrogant X-5 aka Brad, and his “mummy’s boy” attitude makes him supremely punchable. When Loki and Mobius finally haul his ass back to the Tva, it creates an interesting dynamic in the interrogation room. Mobius assumes that the sneering, entitled X-5 will easily be able to push Loki’s buttons,...

Emily, the Corpse Bride, was murdered on her wedding day by her fiancé, who stole her family's fortune and left her for dead in the forest. The identity of Emily's murderer is revealed to be Lord Barkis, who was also attempting to marry Victoria, Victor's true love. Emily was likely around 19 years old when she died, adding to the tragedy of her murder as she remained that age for nearly a decade in the afterlife.
Emily, the titular Corpse Bride, was already dead by the start of the Tim Burton film, but as Victor's story unfolds, the details of her death become clear. The corpse's attire indicates that she was killed on her wedding day, and the musical number "Remains of the Day" confirms this. It's revealed that she was murdered by her own fiance, who made out with her family's jewels and left her corpse to rot in the forest.

Spoiler Warning: Loki Season 2 on Disney+
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) lost his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame. But also in Avengers: Endgame, a Loki from a different timeline escaped (or was hauled away) to an extra-dimensional area outside of time from the regular multiverse to a place called the Time Variants Authority (Tva). There, he not only witnessed his own death but learned about the multiverse, or splitting timelines, and a different kind of time travel. One wonders if Loki will ever see Thor again as the multiverse comes together.
Update October 10, 2023: This article has been updated with further developments in the MCU, including recent revelations in the premiere of Loki season 2.
When he left his own timeline, Loki was still very much enemies with his brother. Remember, he had just been imprisoned at the end of the first Avengers movie.

Warning: spoilers for Loki season 2, episode 1
He Who Remains, the creator of the Tva, played a crucial role in the first multiversal war centuries ago. He erased the memories of Tva employees and created the Time-Keepers to hide his true identity. Ravonna Renslayer was revealed to be an ally of He Who Remains in the first multiversal war, but her exact role remains a mystery.
The first season of Loki introduced He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the creator of the Time Variance Authority, and though he’s now dead, he’s an important presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse, as he also ended a multiversal war centuries ago. The TV series Loki has been key in the exploration of the MCU’s multiverse thanks to it being mostly set at the Tva, thus taking a deep look at what this organization does and the dark secrets it had been hiding for centuries.
