While many think AI takes away the livelihood from humans, others feel it works like a helping hand and an avenue to expand one’s artistic vision digitally. The debate continues, and so does its usage. The latest addition of opinion on this matter comes from the Russo brothers, who have famously directed Marvel movies, in addition to a few titles of their own, including the latest The Electric State starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt on Netflix.

Marvel movies are known for their cinematic grandeur. The Russo brothers presented a stunning intergalactic landscape in Avengers: Endgame. Artwork like that takes time to produce. With the speed taking the lead against human production, it is an important question if AI will be used in future Marvel movies.

The Multiverse Saga has had its fair share of ups and downs. That's a fair statement to make and it honestly doesn't sound that bad when you take into account the fact that all things tend have a healthy balance of both. However, considering that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga had a pretty flawless run for 23 movies, it is rather troubling that the franchise has suffered a number of blows in recent years.

But those blows weren't just in the form of underperforming films and a poorly-received Disney Plus show. The studio parted ways with actor Jonathan Majors in 2023 after he was charged with assault and harassment. The actor had portrayed the MCU franchise's new overarching villain Kang the Conqueror and was supposed to play a major role in future films as the Multiverse Saga's Big Bad, so his ousting threw plans into chaos, as the studio had to rework its big Avengers plan.

As a fresh reminder, there are two different Popeye horror movies headed our way, one of which is titled Popeye’s Revenge. The other one is titled Popeye the Slayer Man, exploring an alternate backstory for the legendary sailor, and Deadline brings us an update this afternoon.

Deadline details in today’s report, “A North American theatrical release is being lined up for Spring 2025 via Vantage Media.” Additionally, the outlet notes, “Vmi Worldwide has boarded worldwide sales on horror Popeye the Slayer Man, which will have its world premiere screening in the market at next month’s EFM in Berlin.”

It’s been known for quite some time that Marvel Studios has fired Jonathan Majors and that he will not be portraying Kang the Conqueror in future MCU installments. Soon, following his dismissal various rumors appeared that ‘The Kang Dynasty’ would be reworked with a different villain as the main focus.

This made sense at the time, considering that Majors’ Kang wasn’t received all that well, and just a few months prior ‘Quantumania’ bombed big-time.

During this year’s Sdcc, Marvel Studios has finally confirmed the rumors. ‘Kang Dynasty’ was retitled ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and Doctor Doom is bound to be the next big MCU villain, but the biggest shock of the night was that Robert Downey Jr. will be portraying him.

Loki's involvement with the Kang variant makes him a key player in the developing Multiverse Saga, potentially leading to his return in the Avengers 5 & 6 films. Marvel Studios should capitalize on Loki's success by considering a third season of the show, as it has been a standout for the studio and one of the McU's most popular characters. The finale of every MCU series on Disney+ has a climactic battle sequence, but Loki Season 2's finale is an example of what's possible. In Loki Season 2, the former God of Mischief has a much bigger task at hand than in the first season. Loki has fought tooth and nail, trying to figure out how to save the Time Variance Authority (Tva) and the fraying Sacred Timeline. It turns out, Sylvie murdering He Who Remains created macabre ripple effects, with the Temporal Loom fraying and the Multiverse being endangered.

Luckily, Loki finds a way to harness his time-slipping and take He Who Remains' throne.

Sometimes, you have too many irons in the fire and must take one out and let it cool. According to Deadline, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. Deadline says they hear Cretton’s exit is amicable, with the in-demand filmmaker remaining in the Marvel family for Wonder Man and Shang-Chi 2. Thankfully, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is years away from hitting theaters, giving Marvel ample time to reassign the Infinity War-level project to another director. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases on May 1, 2026, setting up Avengers: Secret Wars for May 7, 2027. The two event-driven films end the MCU’s Phase 6 timeline.

The Loki series is something of an ouroboros, with both the premiere and the Season 2 finale called "Glorious Purpose." The show introduced a variant of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Loki to the Time Variance Authority, which put him to work hunting, essentially, himself. When he finally met Sylvie, the murderous Loki variant who grew up hiding in apocalyptic events, they both wanted something. Loki wanted to rule and Sylvie wanted to be free to chart her own destiny.

For the first three phases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seemed to be bulletproof. Even when a wrench was thrown into the machine, and Marvel Studios had to recast for someone like Edward Norton or replace a director like Edgar Wright, Kevin Feige’s ultimate vision would keep the train from derailing. The studio’s bubble is currently expanding to the point that many feel it will burst from the tension. One of the biggest hurdles going forward is how the studio plans to handle actor Jonathan Majors in his role as Kang the Conqueror. Majors’ ongoing controversy and a lingering trial, which will either convict or release the actor of domestic abuse charges, is casting an unforeseen shadow on the future of the multiverse era.

Loki season 2 ends with Loki's ultimate sacrifice as he brings order to the multiverse and saves every timeline from destruction. Loki is unlikely to return in the MCU, but his selfless actions will continue to affect the Marvel multiverse, not only in upcoming MCU movies and shows within the Multiverse Saga,...

Loki season 2 ended by creating an infinite number of possibilities, showing real character growth, and giving a satisfying conclusion. Mobius might finally get to spend time with his children, Renslayer's fate is ambiguous, and Sylvie is now free to do whatever she wants. Loki has become an unfathomably powerful god, potentially even surpassing Kang the Conqueror, and now exists outside the multiverse.

Loki season 2 ended on quite a powerful note. One might even say it ended a thousand times before it finally ended. And even then, the series ended by creating an infinite number of possibilities. It’s hard not to conceive of how this might affect the MCU. The ending included that masterful stroke of storytelling, where everything ended up back where it started, in a way. It was one of those conclusions that didn’t just give everyone what they wanted but showed real growth in character as well.

Marvel Studios' Disney+ shows have delivered many powerful moments, but some of these moments would have had a bigger impact in theatrical releases. The introductions of He Who Remains in Loki Season 1, Valentina in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Skaar in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law were risky on Disney+, and potentially caused confusion for casual viewers. Secret Invasion, Moon Knight, and other shows had moments that could have been more powerful on the big screen, reaching a larger audience and capturing the scale of the scenes.

Marvel Studios' TV shows on Disney+ have delivered some incredibly powerful moments for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but these scenes might have been more impactful had they been in MCU feature films instead. Marvel Studios branched out into long-form media after the inception of Disney+ and the dawn of the McU's Multiverse Saga, developing TV series' separate to the previous Marvel Television shows.

Loki producer Eric Martin "100%" confirmed a huge He Who Remains secret that has been tied to the Tva and its agents. 

Loki Season 2 explored more of the inner workings of the Tva like never before. Episode 4 unpacked more of the relationship between He Who Remains and Ravonna Renslayer, indicating that they worked together to win the Multiversal War.

It was also revealed that He Who Remains erased Renslayer's memories, strongly implying that this was the beginning of the Kang Variant's transition to the Tva facade.

In the third episode of Loki Season 2, Miss Minutes talked Victor Timely into dumping Ravonna Renslayer off the ferry in a lifeboat. Ravonna spoke of her partnership with Timely, and he was clear about not being fond of taking on partners. Yet, as Miss Minutes finally revealed to Renslayer, the AI betrayed Ravonna because she and Kang were very close. Not only was she the leader of his armies, but their relationship seemed to be romantic.

The introduction of Kang the Conqueror and his variants in Loki season 1 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sets the stage for the Fantastic Four to explore his origins in the MCU. Kang the Conqueror's familial connection to Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four, could be established in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, further connecting the Marvel's First Family to the Multiverse Saga. The pruning of timelines by He Who Remains in the MCU likely prevented the birth of Reed Richards, explaining why the Fantastic Four have not yet made their debut in the franchise until now.

Loki co-executive producer Kevin Wright said they had a "what if?" moment in the writers' room, and considered having Loki revealed as He Who Remains instead of a Kang introduction.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Wright spoke at length about the Disney+ show, which includes long-term plans for Loki's story arc. The character has successfully transitioned from a hated villain in Thor to the McU's maverick anti-hero. It's even arguable that he has become an unlikely hero after the events of Loki Season 1, though Wright was clear to point out they tried hard not to leave this impression on viewers. It's evident Loki has always been a conflicted character in the MCU, but the series fleshed him out as a redeemable character and consequential to the fate of the Multiverse. Wright admits they even considered revealing Loki as He Who Remains during one of the season's biggest plot twists.

Not only did Tom Hiddleston play different versions of the God of Mischief in Loki Season 1, but he almost played a Kang the Conqueror Variant.

The final episode of Loki's first season on Disney+ featured the introduction of He Who Remains, the McU's first - but not the last - Variant of Kang, played by Jonathan Majors.

Following Kang's return in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and the fallout of He Who Remains' Season 1 death in Loki Season 2, fans are now learning that Tom Hiddleston was once considered to play the man at the end of time.

Loki and Mobius hit the darkened streets of the Sacred Timeline in episode two of Marvel’s Loki, as they attempt to track down Sylvie by tracing the movements of a Tva deserter.

X-5 (rapper and Blindspotting star Rafael Casal) has made quite the life for himself on Earth in the 1970s as Hollywood A-lister Brad Wolfe, and it’s one that he really doesn’t want to give up, so Mobius and Loki have to give chase like proper magic time cops at the premiere of his new movie, Zaniac.

Also refreshing is Casal as the arrogant X-5 aka Brad, and his “mummy’s boy” attitude makes him supremely punchable. When Loki and Mobius finally haul his ass back to the Tva, it creates an interesting dynamic in the interrogation room. Mobius assumes that the sneering, entitled X-5 will easily be able to push Loki’s buttons,...

Emily, the Corpse Bride, was murdered on her wedding day by her fiancé, who stole her family's fortune and left her for dead in the forest. The identity of Emily's murderer is revealed to be Lord Barkis, who was also attempting to marry Victoria, Victor's true love. Emily was likely around 19 years old when she died, adding to the tragedy of her murder as she remained that age for nearly a decade in the afterlife.

Emily, the titular Corpse Bride, was already dead by the start of the Tim Burton film, but as Victor's story unfolds, the details of her death become clear. The corpse's attire indicates that she was killed on her wedding day, and the musical number "Remains of the Day" confirms this. It's revealed that she was murdered by her own fiance, who made out with her family's jewels and left her corpse to rot in the forest.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) lost his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame. But also in Avengers: Endgame, a Loki from a different timeline escaped (or was hauled away) to an extra-dimensional area outside of time from the regular multiverse to a place called the Time Variants Authority (Tva). There, he not only witnessed his own death but learned about the multiverse, or splitting timelines, and a different kind of time travel. One wonders if Loki will ever see Thor again as the multiverse comes together.
