Festival of the Living Dead is not only the latest Tubi Original, it’s the latest film from Jen and Sylvia Soska. That’s a bit of a come down for the sisters, who, after Dead Hooker in a Trunk and American Mary, were loudly proclaimed to be the future of horror. Dave Parker, who was in the same position some years back, recently used a Tubi Original, You Shouldn’t Have Let Me In to prove he can still make an entertaining film. Can the Soska Sisters do the same?
Ash and Iris are looking to do something to celebrate Ash’s birthday. Her boyfriend Kevin and some friends stop by with a birthday present, tickets to the titular Festival of the Living Dead.

Over the past few days, the entertainment community has lost legends such as Carrie Fisher and George Michael, but fans are also mourning the loss of another talented entertainer who might not be quite as well known. Ricky Harris, a comedian and actor who may be best known for playing Malvo on the TV series Everybody Hates Chris, passed away after suffering a heart attack. While he may not have been a household name, he had a huge impact on the hip-hop community, with several prominent hip-hop artists paying their respects through social media.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the actor passed away from a heart attack through his manager, Cindy Ambers. The actor's manager also revealed to other news outlets such as the Los Angeles Times that her client had another heart attack two years ago, although no other details about his passing were given. Ricky Harris grew up in Long Beach,...

Young "Touch" star David Mazouz has scored the role of a pre-teen Bruce Wayne in Fox's upcoming Batman-prequel series "Gotham".
Mazouz will play the 13-year-old Bruce who leans on his butler Alfred (Sean Pertwee) and Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) for guidance after his wealthy parents are murdered.
Warner Bros. TV, which is producing the series, carefully points out that Mazouz will not, at any point in the series, become Batman.
Another casting choice announced today is newcomer Camren Bicondova ("Battlefield America") in the role of a young Selena Kyle, an orphan street thief and pickpocket who will eventually become Catwoman.
Bicondova is part of the Hawaiian all-female dance crew 8 Flavahz so her physical dexterity will likely come into play in the role.

Young Master Wayne and Selina Kyle, Aka Catwoman, have been chosen for Fox’s Batman prequel, Gotham. David Mazouz will play the tragedy-stricken Bruce, shortly after the murder of his parents and now under the care of Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee). Mazouz is best known for his role in Fox’s short-lived, Ascap Award-winning sci-fi series Touch alongside Keifer Sutherland and Danny Glover. That show managed two seasons before being cancelled. Portraying pre-Catwoman Selina will be Camren Bicondova, a relative newcomer to Hollywood, whose major claim to fame is being a runner-up on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew with her group, 8 Flavahs. Los Angeles, June 16: Director Chris Stokes has been ordered to give $10,000 for not paying one of the flick's investors of his movie "Battlefield America", which has already turned out to be a damp squib at the box office.
Stokes was sued in small claims court by a single mother, who claimed she invested $10,000 in his movie believing she'd be repaid in 30 days, but the money was never returned to her, reports tmz.com.
Stokes blew off her lawsuit - and earlier this week, a judge entered a default judgment in the woman's favour, awarding her the $10,000 plus court costs.
It's another financial blow to the filmmakers,.

At the start of Chris Stokes “Battlefield America,” we see young, bold, and tough kids dancing at an underground dance battle. Think “You Got Serve” meets Disney’s “Ant farm”. I’ve never seen such talented young dancers dance. The opening scene gives way to a lot of great energy, but it resembles more of a music video, than that of an opening scene to a film. The film’s story begins as we enter the daily life of the young and self centered Sean Lewis (Marques Houston). Shawn is a pompous prick of a man. He’s a hard working man, only if it benefits him. He’s just made partner at a prestigious La Marketing firm. One...

Moviefone's New Release Pick of the Week "The Cabin in the Woods" What's It About? Joss Whedon does for slasher movies what he did for vampires with "Buffy." If we told you anything more, we'd ruin the experience. See It Because: If you're a horror movie fan you're used to being served the dumbest, most illogical garbage and just accepting it. "Cabin" is actually one of the most clever, unique and entertaining horror movies in years (years!) with a funny cast, totally off-the-wall premise and secret twists that we can't tell you anything about. Zombie Lovers: Watch a Special Behind-the-Scenes Look at "Cabin in the Woods" - (Also Available on Redbox DVD & Blu-ray | Amazon Instant Video | Netflix) Moviefone's Blu-ray Release Pick of the Week "Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures" What's It About? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the helpers of “The Helpers” aren’t actually helpful. I could be wrong, of course, but I’m willing to risk it. The more important point is that “The Helpers” is, from what I can tell, a Found Footage slasher movie directed by Chris Stokes, the genius who gave us “You Got Served” and the sure-to-be American classic, “Battlefield America”, which is “You Got Served” with tykes. Leave it to the mastermind behind “You Got Served” to take advantage of the cheapo Found Footage genre and put his own spin on it. And of course by “spin” I mean . If the killers don’t start “battling” with funky dance moves, I’m gonna be real disappointed. Seven friends on a road trip to Las Vegas break down near a rest-stop motel, where they encounter a seemingly helpful group of people.

Snow White and the Huntsman attracted strong interest on opening day, and wound up earning more than the next six movies combined. Meanwhile, Mib 3 had a decent hold in second place, while The Avengers passed two major milestones. The year's second Snow White movie opened to an estimated $20.3 million from 3,773 locations on Friday, which is more than the first Snow White movie (Mirror Mirror) made in its entire opening weekend. It's also way ahead of Universal's Robin Hood, which earned $13.03 million on its opening day in May 2010. Based on Friday's results, Universal is forecasting a $55 million weekend. Mib 3 dropped 53 percent to an estimated $8.3 million on Friday. On the surface that looks like a steep decline, but most sequels that open over Memorial Day fall at least 60 percent. It was about even with Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and if it follows that movie's pace for the weekend...

Stop me if you've heard this one: Slick, callous executive type gets pulled over for DUI, gets stuck doing community service with a ragtag group of misfit kids, helps them win the big championship. Love, life lessons and fist-in-air victories ensue. No, Disney isn't rebooting the "Mighty Ducks" franchise — yet, anyway — but these familiar plot points get a thorough rehashing in "Battlefield America," a skimpy bit of fluff about pre-teen dance crews throwing down in Long Beach back alleys long after their bedtimes. There's just one major film hitting theatres to challenge Men in Black 3 this weekend, and that is Snow White and the Huntsman starring Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth. Reviews are looking mediocre to unfavourable so far, but that doesn't mean it won't potentially pull off a win. Also hitting theatres this weekend is the long-awaited Piranha 3Dd, but considering that it's opening on just 75 screens I can only assume it really is as bad as everyone says it is. Also in select theatres we have the dance flick Battlefield America (which, sadly, has nothing to do with the Battlefield video game franchise), the Oscar-nominated animated film A Cat in Paris, Australian horror flick The Loved Ones, and stoner comedy High School starring Adrien Brody and Colin Hanks. Last weekend, "Men in Black 3" finally dethroned box-office marvel "The Avengers," with the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones-led sequel raking in $55 million over the Memorial Day weekend. However, Kristen Stewart's turn as "the fairest of them all" may prove "Mib's" victory to be short-lived. "Snow White and the Huntsman," hitting theaters Friday, stars K-Stew as the fair-skinned lead, Charlize Theron as the beauty-sucking Queen and Chris Hemsworth as the weapon-wielding Huntsman. Will the trio be able to knock "Mib" from the top spot? Let's take a look at the box-office predictions and reviews in Moviefone's Weekend Movie Preview. Nationwide Releases "Snow White and the Huntsman" What's the story? Kristen Stewart plays the damsel-in-distress in this updated spin on the classic fairytale. Here, the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) attempts to destroy the fairest of them all by hiring the brave Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) to kill her.

Honestly, if I was forced to judge Summer 2012 at first glance, I would say it was pretty weak. Compared to 2011 and 2010, there's just not as many movies to look forward to. While it seems easy to write off this Summer as a dud, I have three reasons why it might actually be awesome; The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and Prometheus. Honestly, that's all Summer 2012 needs in order to be one for the history books. Even then, there's still more than enough films to warrant your attention this summer. To help you sort through them all, we've once again compiled all the most interesting films of the season into four easy to read, informative guides. For the next four days, we'll take you on a journey through the best cinema has to offer in Summer 2012. Welcome to our Summer 2012 Movie Guide! Today, we will focus on June 2012, one of the biggest months of the year.

In the future, kids won’t just go into “battle” for street cred and respect and possibly a lollipop, but they’ll also actually do their chores and whatever their parents tell them to. But until that glorious day finally comes, you’ll just have to settle with 19 (yes, 19) posters, a new trailer, and a 3-minute “battle” clip from “You Got Served” director Chris Stokes’ latest, “Battlefield America”, the film that dares to answer the question, “What if you replaced the entire cast of ‘You Got Served’ with kids?” Damn right. The only thing missing on these kids? Tattoos. Now that would be righteous. By the way, it’s not just me who gets chills when Evil White Guy with Spikey Hair replies, “It’s not a battle, it’s a war!”, right? From the team that brought you “You Got Served” comes a young Hip-Hop dance battle movie for a new generation of dance.

Chris Stokes (aka mega-successful entrepreneur Christopher B. Stokes, according to his IMDb.com profile), is my hero. The man was ahead of his time, and in 2004 gave us the awesome “You Got Served”, a film that is so rewatchable, I’ve seen it at least 20 times, and each time I watch it, it’s more ridiculous than the last time I saw it, and I though it was pretty damn ridiculous all those other times, too.
