It has an interesting and innovative concept. I wish I could've seen more of it, so bad it is a short film.. Delicious dark comedy.

Horst_In_Translation23 October 2015"Delicacy" is a 2012 10-minute short film from the United States. the director is Jason Mann and he also wrote this film together with Frieda Luk. 3 years later, the by far most known cast member is Elizabeth Henstridge, who looks a bit like Keira Knightley in this one. Anyway, it has a bit to with cooking, with hunting and with dangerous situations in general. Unfortunately, neither the comedic nor the dramatic side of this film managed to really convince me and I can see why Mann and Luk have not really managed a successful career in the industry since this was made. Also the fact that it is fairly high on the IMDb movie star meter (that's how I found it) lets me think that some maybe mistook it for the Audrey Tautou film that came out pretty much at the same time. Anyway, I do not recommend "delicacy". Forgettable watch.

harryhoustonastros3 June 2019What a darkly comedic time this was. The beautiful framing and cinemetography really set this short apart from the typical canvass's of other shorts if it's time.
Without spoiling much, I'll say the ending was a fun and sickly little ordeal. I was drawn in from the very beginning with all of the fun little nuances and witty dialogue. Hopefully Jason Mann's career eventually takes off and he's able to escape the project green light disaster -
TribForce13 October 2013What a creative film coming from Jason Mann, who should be well-known soon enough. Delicacy serves us a movie that is truly mysterious, well-written, and simply: oddly fun. Its opening grabs you from the moment the the two main characters appear on screen. You wonder along with this food connoisseur why this chef is so secretive about the food he has brought out, and what adventures it will take you on (and believe me, there are many adventures. Especially when we meet Elizabeth Henstridge in the woods). The actors do a marvelous job as well, inviting you in to be there, take a taste, and get lost in this film. My hope is that the minds behind this masterpiece find enough funding to make this into a full- length feature. Viewers can tell that the film offers more than the 10 minutes it plays. If you can find it somewhere out there to watch it (I had the opportunity to see it when it was playing online for a film festival), definitely do. It will be worth the 10 minutes, and much more.

Kirpianuscus8 June 2019It is one of surprising short films. Poetic, cold, precise. Proposing a simple, dramatic A story about unique taste. About few pieces of flesh. About a sort of hunt. And an end reminding "Wild boar with silvery fangs" by Stefan Augustin Doinas. A great short film about mistery and desire and price of it. Trip across imagies of fantastical animals. Well crafted, seductive, keeping the flavor of lost ages.
