  • Keeping that juvenile audience supplied with enough bubblegum idols, the next tween/teen comedy off the Magic Kingdom assembly line is I Didn't Do It. It will no doubt run its allotted three to four years before the cast moves on to other Disney and non-Disney products.

This one stars Austin North and Olivia Holt as a pair of fraternal twins who with their three friends Piper Curda, Sarah Gilman, and Payton Clark will no doubt get into all kinds of situations that would have fazed the grand old lady of comedy Lucille Ball if I'm any judge of what I've seen so far. They will also have a lot of 'Splaining' to do after each story with the grand old cop out I Didn't Do It.

In the Disney tradition the cast is fresh faced and all American except when an ethnic part is called for. And in more than a Disney tradition the two leads look way too old to be playing high school fresh. The first episode had both of them trying to get into the cool kids crowd led by the quarterback Chad Buchanan who might pass for a college senior. But that's what I've come to expect since I was that age.

I'm sure there's enough teen eye candy to attract viewers for the allotted time that this and other Disney shows have.

This show was pretty good but I feel like they kind of drifted away from its original plot. It was supposed to be about teens who get into situations together but I feel like it just ended up about a group of friends and their normal lives. Nothing really made it stick out as a great show.

This show is hard to watch.

The actors are not funny, the episodes are confusing comparing to the plot, and there is no character development.

We don't know where these guys came from and their history at all.

And the character of Delia has got to be the most annoying one in the entire show.

Speaking of actors, to those who are complaining about the actors's ages, have you watched High School Musical?

    Hannah Montana?

How old were these actors when the show happened?

How old was Jason Earles and Monique Coleman?

Do your research before you complain!
  • It's a commonly accepted notion that TV shows containing characters the audience can relate to will determine the success or failure of a show. This isn't always the case, most notably with the early-1980's Britcom "The Young Ones." It's also known that fans of "Kickin' It" were disappointed when Olivia Holt left that sitcom to do this show, which has been unfairly panned by IMDb users and other critics. This is kind of sad. The show has a silly and fascinating main cast of characters. Yes, there are similarities to FRIENDS, but that's not really that bad, and for the record the "cafe with the couches" was named "Central Perk." This show's version of Central Perk is called "Rumble Juice," a smoothie joint under a Chicago "L" station in Evanston, Illinois. Interesting of It's a Laugh Productions to choose edge cities for locations, rather than big ones kids might be more familiar with. I await a sitcom taking place in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, or Long Beach, New York in the future.

The premise is fairly simple; Fraternal twins Lindy and Logan Watson (Olivia Holt and Austin North) enter high school with each other and their three friends, and get into all kinds of trouble along the way, especially as they try to break away from having to do things with each other. The fact that Lindy is book-smart and helpful while Logan is a slacker may help them distinguish themselves between each other. Besides the Watson twins, the three other kids that make up the "Fab 5" include smart fashionista Jasmine Kang (played by A.N.T. Farm's Piper Curda), High-strung germophobe Garrett Spenger (Peyton Clark), And last, but far from least, the quirk-alicious group weirdo Delia Delfano (Sarah Gilman).

A standard episode usually plays out like this; The kids end up in some kind of fiasco, and usually have to explain to adults how the big mess of the week came about in the first place. The rest of the episode is strictly a flashback until it gets to the big mess at the beginning of the episode. Routine as it may be, it's hardly boring. What's not routine are the kids themselves. For once, the usual trope of the smart kid of the group wearing the glasses isn't true here. Not that Delia doesn't have a brain in that head of hers, but honestly, the only thing she has in common with Daria Morgendorffer is that she's a brunette with glasses who prefers the natural look.

Of course, the show's not all about Miss Gilman's character. Typical of most Disney shows, it produces a romantic storyline between some of the characters, primarily Jasmine and Logan, which it gave subtle hints about until the episode "Lindy Nose Best," where it damn near served it to the viewers on a silver platter. Jasmine is also the reason Lindy learned to be a little more fashionable, according to some sources, and she's actually the brainiac of the group.

As another reviewer mentioned, this show is non-musical, which is also a departure for Disney... so far. Olivia Holt sings the theme song, as well as other Disney-related musical projects past and present, and Piper Curda plays the drums and has a musical side-career of her own. So there's always a chance that the producers might try to integrate these aspects of their personality into the series.

To the surprise of many, the show is getting a second season. It's good enough that it deserves a chance, but knowing how hard the critics have slammed this show, I'll be surprised if there's a third.

Yet again Disney made a show about blonde twins. The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Liv and Maddie, and now these new twins.

Characters: Main blonde girl: Kind of annoying, she actually thinks she has a chance with a senior (even though she's a freshman) It's hardly even legal for them to be together!! Pretty much the typical lead female cliché Main blonde guy: Of course another character that just wants to be popular. Nothing really special about him The girl with long brown hair: Extremely annoying. She's your stereotypical boy crazy girl cliché Guy with brown hair: The idiot cliché Other weird girl with brown curly hair: Why is she even on this show? She had like 6 lines the whole episode, and most were a forced attempt at funny

Episode 1 Plot: Siblings threw a huge party without their parents permission cliché.

The part of the show that really bothered me was when they thought the old lady (that was supervising the party) was DEAD, and they decided to throw the party anyway??! (Full of cliché old people jokes, by the way) They called emergency services way after the party had begun and when the cops showed up they USED HER SUPPOSED "DEAD BODY" TO PRETEND THAT SHE WAS STILL ALIVE SO THAT THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH IT! Then the party gets more and more crazy and then it's back to the beginning when the parents are DEFINITELY not as mad as they should be. And they only get grounded for six weeks?? I'd home school them, take away their phones, and make these idiots clean up the house, AND never let them hang out with their friends again.

I mean they REALLY destroyed their parents house.

Bottom line: This show is terrible, the characters are dumb, and it's just not funny

This show was genuinely one of the worst programs I have ever watched. It's a real shame, because a couple of the actors (Piper Curda, Austin North) show some potential, but other characters are such terrible caricatures that it is literally difficult to watch. If there is a director involved with this show, I can't imagine they are older than 13 or 14. The writing is beyond juvenile. The acting, for the most part, looks like a middle-school play (except for the fact that the freshmen look like they're about 30). The morals of the kids are abhorrent - I truly hope that kids aren't watching this show thinking the characters are "cool," because the way they treat their parents, their teachers, and their peers is absolutely awful. The character of Delia is so phenomenally annoying, I genuinely feel bad for the actor playing her. It's obvious she is trying (too hard) to make her lines funny, but the character is so awkward it's painful to watch. Screech Powers, from Saved by the Bell, was awkward and funny. This character is awkward and embarrassing, making an already loathsome show even more unpleasant. I understand that Disney's live-action shows cater to a pre-teen crowd, so these shows aren't going to be sophisticated, but if we could try to show some intelligent teens who don't think their parents are complete morons it may help shape young adults who aren't completely obnoxious, vacant, and completely self-involved individuals. This program actually demonstrates everything that is wrong with Disney's programming today. ***Your audience is impressionable, Disney!!*** For the love of everything, show some responsibility - and some *quality* - with your programming. I loved Disney growing up, but my kids won't watch Disney if this is the kind of trash you continue to air.

This is a new show about a group of friends who always manage to get themselves into big trouble. The episodes usually start out with them standing in the middle of a mess they made and having to explain it to an authority figure whether it be parents, school principal, a business owner or in one case the U.S. Secret Service.

A show can be no better than the cast. There are five main characters, two twins who are blond and shallow, a gorgeous chinita with beautiful brown eyes and amazing hair, the weird girl and a quirky guy. In the real world five people this different would never be buds, but this strong friendship bond is the background of the show.

The show does involve some off-color humor such as a guy relieving himself in someone else's private bathroom thereby stinking it up, and another episode involves copious amounts of vomiting so immature people like me will love it.
  • This show is really bad like really bad. I understand Disney want to start shows without singing but I feel the writers of this show and actress and actors suck so bad men. I hope this show gets canceled because it's not cool. It's so disrespectful to the channel Disney itself. It tries so hard to be good when most of the cast can't act, I mean they're good looking but that about it. The only actress on this show that is good is Piper curda! I feel bad for her because she has more potential! Put her on Liv and Maddie or something because this show isn't cutting it. Their ratings are so poor. It reminds me of a current Nickelodeon project lol because no nick project is working out and this isn't working out. Olivia Holt is so different lol she can't act at all to me. Her voice irritates me. Austin North the lead he is just a big mistake and I think Disney knows that. He comes off as dumb on the show and the voice he talks in is so annoying. Disney give this show 3 seasons if you have to and say goodbye, I been said good bye episode 4.
  • PLZ READ ALL OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The show I didn't do it went from a bad show to my favorite show. Season two really got you a closer relationship with the characters and was a "friends" like show. Now thanks too all the people that left this show and lost hope in it there done with it. So thanks so much for that people. If you guys would rate this show really high on all rating sites and same with reviews we might be able to bring it back. Just watch the mid second season too the end or even the start to the end. You probably wont like the first season but at the end of the first season feelings starts to form and it gets a lot better. Don't want to spoil anything but watch for yourself. Honestly it might just be because it's on Disney channel and not on something like ABC or even Teen Nick. Also adults like this show so that shows something. So please guys all I'm asking is for us to try and get this show back. I mean honestly this was the one show that older people watched and not just kids. I mean really if a show like Jessie gets 4 or 5 seasons I think this shows deserves at least 3. This show at least for direct TV users is on at any time from 10:00 pm-12:00 am, might be the same for everyone. The reason I said that was because with more views I think Disney would want this show to come back. So please people just bring the show back guys, or at least try to get it back and give it another chance. I know that this is very long but it needed to be said and I think this is exactly what all the I Didn't DO IT FANS have been saying since the show ended. So again thanks for reading and that's everything.

    Warning: Spoilers
Omg Disney why? You were so awesome and now look what happened. Where's good luck Charlie?

Anyway, so first the horrid characters: Linsey: she's such an annoying spoiled blonde who always has to get her way. Olivia Holt is usually a good actress but this is just sick. The guy: her brother. What an idiot! I mean his voice is too deep and he can't play a high school kid for his life. Delia: I love this girl. Only good character besides garret. She's so sweet and quirky and pretty. Garret: he's OK. They make fun of him for being careful, but he's the only smart one Jasmine: worst. Character. Ever. Like how can you be so stuck up and phone and boy obsessed? I hate this girl. The writings bad, acting leaves to be desired, and I hope somebody gets rid of it Worst Disney show yet
  • I watched the first episode I thought it was going to be okay.... but sadly it failed I know it's going to be repetitive They mess up, they try to hide it, and they're grounded.... I just can't stand to watch more even though it was only 1 episode, they need to stop making sit-coms and focus on cartoons mostly all of their real life shows really sucks balls. And plus their title for their show doesn't even make any sense! "I didn't do it" Disney is waaaay over downhill, their only good shows are Gravity Falls, and Wander Over Yonder

I actually created an account because of how much I disliked this show and needed to vent about it! Awful premise! Do bad things and blame someone else. Awful, terrible, horrendous casting!!! These kids look 20! And we are supposed to believe they are experiencing their first days of high school!?!? Come on Disney...the viewers aren't idiots. There is no way any of the young adults on this cast look to be 13 or 14years old. Especially the men. Yes I said men because they do not look like boys. I don't know what the powers that be were thinking when putting together this show. It is unwatchable and my 9 year old agrees. Hopefully we won't be subjected to thus show for too many seasons. Bad show, bad casting, bad message. And did I mention I really dislike this show?! Thanks for listening to my vent.
  • This was one of the best if not "the" best show on the Disney Channel. I wish it had gone one more season. But (sigh), all good things come to an end. I have heard of rumblings, that of a movement exists by fans to see if the ABC network "Freeform" will pick it up. That would be so sweet. The shows cast was great with Olivia Holt as the star and Austin North as the twin brother. Peyton Clark ,Piper Curda, and Sara Gilman rounding out the group.I think there are big things on the horizon for these talented kids.I know that there is a fools hope of a chance that Freeform will pick up the show let alone renew it with new episodes, but if they did I would like to see more of the "Rescuers" band with new music. I just wish these shows had some merchandise like mugs and t-shirts to offer. That would be to quote Logan,"Awesome".
  • RyanWinter10022 February 2015
When this program first started, I thought--what is the purpose of this show? With the exception of Olivia Holt and Austin North, the cast was as boring as boring can be. The stories were dull, there was no goal, no theme to the show. It was, until the second season an all white cast with pure vanilla acting. Then the best thing happened, they added the character "Betty." That black actress added life, zing, and much needed humor to a sad show. Betty has injected energy into the show. The young actors now have an adult pro to play off of. As the antagonist Betty forces the other characters to deal with her. She has timing and attitude, now the whole cast has better timing and spunk. There just might be some hope for this show after all.

Let me just start out by saying that I Didn't Do It is my favorite show on Disney right now, and possibly my favorite TV show on any network right now. Actually, in my opinion, it might just be the best TV show ever written! I Didn't Do It focuses on five high school freshman who are best friends, and they always get into a lot of interesting, hilarious, situations! Lindy is the serious one, Logan is the silly one, Jasmine is the popular one, Garrett is the crazy one, and Delia is the quirky one. This show not only showcases an amazing group of best friends, it also will have you laughing so hard you will be in tears! Every episode the "Fab 5" get into a different crazy situation, and they have to find a crazy was out of it, together :) This show also contains everything a good show needs. Humor, friendships, amazing actors/actresses, action, adventure, and even romance between Logan and Jasmine! This show will never fail to bore it's audience, and is appropriate for every age group! I'm sixteen, and I think that the show is perfect! This show was really well written. The writers did an excellent job casting the show, writing the scripts, and relating to people of every age! I Didn't Do it is just such an amazing show! Thanks Disney :D
  • Warning: Spoilers
The newest Disney Channel Original Series to grace the television screen is I Didn't Do It, a series about ultra-competitive twins Lindy (Olivia Holt) and Logan Watson (Austin North) who, together with their three best friends attempt to navigate freshman year of high school.

The plot for the pilot episode revolved around the twins throwing a party while their parents are away to impress a senior at high school. However, before the party begins they come to believe that their elderly baby-sitter has passed away. Even for a Disney Channel series this plot is quite unbelievable and gives off a message to kids watching that it is okay to disobey their parents and to ignore when someone dies.

During the pilot episode, virtually no character development occurred, leaving the audience wondering who these five best friends truly are. After twenty-three minutes, we still don't really know anything about the five main characters other than their names, they are in high school and they will be getting in trouble in each and every episode.

The acting from the entire cast seemed very stiff and wooden in places - even from Holt who is headlining the show. Peyton Clark (Garret), Piper Curda (Jasmine) and in particular Sarah Gilman (Delia), were not given much screen-time in this episode as most of the action revolved around Lindy and Logan.

The premise of the show is interesting, in that each episode will start at the end of the conflict and the episode will use flashbacks to show Lindy and Logan's versions of what happened. Although this premise has promise, this could get old very quickly if the outcome of each episode is basically the same - the kids get grounded.

All in all the show had promise but did not deliver and is well deserving of the 4 out of 10 rating given.
  • OK so to start off its a Disney show so it will probably filled with cheesy jokes, obvious point outs and a bunch of other useless comedy shown. I wanted to point out that the creators did not have to come up with something very unique. I hate watching this show because every time i see it i just say 'oh thats from friends, that too, oh I've seen that before etc.' i wanted to point out some striking similarities that i find exactly the same concept as the hit show friends. 1) they all have a mutual meeting point.- i cant remember what episode but it was an early one where they meet in that café with 3 couches. Automatically there is a similarity with friends as they have a mutual meeting point being the café and they all sit on those 3 couches. 2) storyline is the same- in the same episode the group try to find a 'cool' dude to join their group of around 5. In the hit show friends it constantly tried to implement this same idea multiple times BUT friends did it first. 3) again same storyline- now i have only seen 1 episode of i didn't do it, but i can already foresee some crucial plots during the series. 3A) one of the girls or guys will fall in love with one another but wont tell the others due to them not accepting the fact that they like each other 3B) one of them has a secret either about themselves or someone/something else. 3C) one of the members WILL 'leave' due to them just being fired/contract run out or they have been offered more money to act in another show. These points that i have outlined express the fact that the people who 'created' this show straight COPIED F.R.I.E.N.D.S if you haven't seen the similarity already then you have been brainwashed by watching other stupid Disney channel shows like dog with a blog, ant farm, kickin it etc. also i wanted to say that i absolutely hate the title name, it will never be a hit show with that long of a title. And i have voted 1 star because it is the minimum and 2 stars because Olivia Holt is aight looking
  • Warning: Spoilers
The show is ehhh...its okay... I am just still getting over the fact that they ended Good Luck Charlie to put this on....i mean, really? Disney Channel right now is the only thing i watch besides Disney XD. So i do love the Disney Channels but they could be better...This show can and WILL get old. Okay lets start with the first one...

The Unsupervised Party:So the episode starts with a view of a messy place...stop right there. At the top of my head i can about 5 shows that has at least one episode like this. A couple of movies too. So its throw a party make a mess and get caught and get a week length punishment. done.

overall this show is good but just a warning it will get old
  • Among the production disasters that the show had, I mean, Disney changed absolutely the entire production and writers for the second season, a show that I feel could have given much more, the characters were nice and they had chemistry with each other, thanks in due to the good cast it had, this was Disney's Friends, but I feel that its lack of focus towards something predetermined, because the formula of starting the episodes showing the climax of the episode was something interesting, but its abrupt change of focus in the second season was what ended up burying the show, the inclusion of insufferable and annoying characters like Betty, it just brought the show to a death that it shouldn't have been, I think this show was on the wrong network as well, it should have gone to Freeform or even Nickelodeon, because I feel that its potential would have been better used, the show is good, it is not the peak of comedy, but it ends up being a good show.
  • kirko166415 December 2023
The show wasn't that bad. It's also one of the best and unproblematic shows in my opinion. The characters don't seem to insult each other that much like they do in Shake it up besides Lindy and Logan but they are siblings.

Season 1 was ok but I really loved season 2. I don't get the hate season 2 gets. Betty carried that season. It was funny and I feel like the laugh track made it more enjoyable honestly. I feel like they should have at least given it another season. I seen worse shows on Disney channel.

The only episode I didn't like was the episode "The New Guy" the way they treated that guy was awful. And there was some boring episodes.

Also they don't look like they are 14 years old at all. Garrett looks like a adult. I loved when he got a job at the rumble juice and he had his uniform on and you can see his bulge. So hot.

so this is a brand new show that aired on Disney channel last Friday, a week ago. it stars Olivia Holt and can I just say, although I've only seen the first episode it looks hilarious. I love how it's going to start at the end of a predicament and then Lindy (Olivia Holt) and her friends will talk about what happened leading up to the scene at the beginning of the episode. this is seriously something. I feel it's going to be extremely hilarious in every episode. I can't wait to see more episodes of this show. sure can't wait to see the episode that will air this Sunday at 8:30. literally, this is my new favorite show even though I have only seen one episode. man I am so excited. this will make you pee your pants since it is quite funny.
  • This is top notch and unlike many series, this is filled with physical comedy which is really good. I personally love the concept of starting from a messed up situation and explaining it from each other's points of views. In simple words this is 'drake and Josh' quality. Top tier. The only problem is the lack of episodes. It's really hard to believe that such a great show got low ratings. Overall you won't be disappointed by this masterpiece. Can be called one of the best shows from Disney.
