The Fate of Kelly

Eph seeks out Kelly downtown tracking down her cell phone and is not happy with what he finds. In flashback, the fate of Kelly in the last hours is disclosed. Fet and Dutch decide to take a bold attitude toward the powerful Eldritch Palmer at his building.

"Loved Ones" is an episode basically dedicated to show the fate of Kelly. There is apparently a great flaw when she visits her friend Diane looking for Zach and she tells that he is with Matt. Diane had already gone to her house and stumbled upon Eph and Nora. So she learned that Zach was with Eph´s colleagues and not with Matt. My vote is seven.

It was kinda confusing or is it just me. When Kelly went to her friend's house, Diane, looking for her son Zach Diane told Kelly he was with Matt, Kelly's boyfriend. Prior to that Diane went to Kelly's house and find Eph and Nora on the floor, post-coital. Prior to that Eph had already killed Matt. So by the time Kelly asked Diane where Zach is at that point Diane must have known that Zach was with Eph and not with Matt.

But so far I like where the story is going.

Not a lot going on which is I think good in establishing the main characters arc.

Unnecessary side story line with Dutch.

I wanted to like this episode. I really did. I just can't stand that Dutch girl. I understand she caused the whole internet shutdown thing, but other than that, I don''t see why she's sticking around. Will she do something in the upcoming episodes that will make her likable? I hope she's killed off.

The only reason I don't rate it lower is the Kelly story line. I liked it a lot. It will definitely be a huge blow to Zach when he finds out. I think The Master has big plans for Kelly.

Overall, the episode had a lot of unnecessary scenes. It could have just been cut down to just Kelly.

Reaction / Review for The Strain Season 1 Episode 10: Episode 9 was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Setrakian is the grandpa we all need. Is Eph's wife alive? I hope she is, I feel bad for his son. Kelly is infected, game over sadly, that sucks. Wow Kelly just killed her best friend's son? That's brutal! I wonder what is the master's plan for Kelly. Even Palmer's bodyguard thinks he is nuts. Another slow episode that feels a bit like filler, not much happens to move the story forward. Also we don't see Eichorst, I wish we could see Eichorst in every episode. This episode spends much time about Kelly a completely uninteresting character. I hope the next episode is better. My rating is 7.7/10.

A rather boring episode

Fet deserves to be the main guy instead of Eph because Eph is so boring and annoying. His ex wife turned too and met the master. The British girl left the team after Eph didn't want him to stay. It turns out the assistant of mr. Palmer is the guy giving shots in the stoneheart.
