When Rodrigo decides that a world renowned pianist, played by Wallace Shawn, should not be there for his first concert, the man comes to see him. They engage in a weird meets weird interaction, where Shawn actually hypnotized Rodrigo, so he can see what he wants. What he actually wants is that crazy wife playing a Sibelius violin concerto. But, of course, she is nuts. The other plot is Cynthia being sent to Cuba to bring Thomas back. He is living among the natives and playing with street musicians (the bongos of all things). But he is in his glory. She comes back empty handed. This show continually stretches reality and it doesn't matter.
