Exclusive: Elaine Welteroth won’t be returning to The Talk for CBS’ daytime talk show’s upcoming season as she shifts her focus on other projects. Welteroth joins fellow co-host Carrie Ann Inaba who also recently departed the daytime talk show. Search for new hosts is underway, and I hear the hope is to have at least one new permanent co-host — expected to be a person of color — in place when The Talk premieres its new season on Sept. 13.
“We wish Elaine all the best. We are grateful for her passion, enthusiasm, and insight she brought to the show daily,” The Talk executive produces Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews said in a statement to Deadline. “Her openness and meaningful conversations were attributes we admired and always appreciated.”
After guest-hosting multiple times in late fall 2020, Welteroth officially joined The Talk as a full-time panelist on January 4, 2021. She and Amanda Kloots became...

Kip Moore puts a human face to the music venues in crisis in his new video for “Don’t Go Changing.” The country-rocker filmed the clip at the currently shuttered Nashville clubs the 5 Spot, the End, the Basement, Mercy Lounge, and Exit/In, the historic venue that served as a centerpiece to Robert Altman’s 1975 film Nashville.
Moore plays the role of interviewer in the video, sitting down with Exit/In owner Chris Cobb to get his unvarnished view on the state of the live music business. For Cobb — who,...

After 10 years of following other people’s stories, Elaine Welteroth is finally telling her own.
Since leaving her post as the editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, Welteroth has written a memoir, “More Than Enough,” that hits shelves this summer and has a new on-air job as one of three judges on the revamped “Project Runway” — along with Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano, who replaced Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn.
Welteroth is used to breaking ground. At Teen Vogue, she served as the first black beauty editor before being promoted to the top of the masthead, making waves as the youngest and only the second black person to hold the title in Conde Nast history. Welteroth changed the tone of Teen Vogue. She is largely responsible for the publication’s pivot to politics, most notably during the 2016 presidential election. Teen Vogue, under Welteroth’s reign, proved that teen girls were just as...

Big things are changing for award-winning journalist Elaine Welteroth. A little over a year ago, the activist was resigning from her position as the editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, where she was the youngest person and the second person of color to hold such a position at any publication. Since then she's been covering major news events like March For Our Lives in partnership with Freeform and ABC News, walking the Oscars red carpet, interviewing Oprah Winfrey, and - oh yeah - writing a book and becoming a new judge on Bravo's Project Runway. A very chill way to start off 2019, no?
Even with all of the work and projects that she juggles, Elaine has remained consistent in prioritizing her mission of sharing the stories of marginalized groups and uplifting those around her. "I think of all the people in the community that I represent,...
