The question asked here is whether music is truly music if it is not reproducible on stage. That is when special effects and sounds are made in a studio and imported into a recording, but those sounds are so sophisticated that they are beyond the talents of the performers. We are introduced to multi-track recording and over-dubbing and all the other little gimmicks that are now commonplace. Guitar foot pedals and other things that are created using every manner of device. I believe the answer is a resounding yes because we are taken to the creations of the Beatles with albums like Sgt. Pepper and Revolver, the intense focus of Brian Wilson, and the licks of Fleetwood Mac, among others. These people created some of the greatest music of all time, yet much was devised in the studio.
