  • Dear Judge Hatchett,

I have been searching for you on TV for awhile since your last show went off the air. I caught an episode of The Verdict today. Can I be frank and say, this isn't you! You looked bored, no zest, you looked tired, I miss you getting solutions by showing people what they are missing, how to behave like sending a child to a scared straight experience. This is not your kinda show. You need to show a feisty side, you need to bring back the old version of your show. Just saying.

    Be blessed,

    Jeanne Spahr

I'm so disappointed. I tuned in this morning to the "new" Judge Hatchett show for the first time. It was so obvious the litigants were actors that I didn't even make it all the way through the first case. I went to IMDb, hoping I might be wrong, but no, there it was, a long cast list. Judge Hatchett deserves so much better than this. Please give her back the actual litigants with whom she was always so smart and articulate and passionate and give her and her reputation the respect they deserve.
  • OMG this is horrible. The acting is poor the whole thing is so unrealistic.
  • Dear Judge Hatchett,

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A FORM OF DISRESPECT BECAUSE I HAVE THE Utmost ADMIRATION AND RESPECT FOR YOU. I watch your show for years and I hurt to see that it was no longer showing in my area, Washington State. So, when I saw that your show "The Verdict with Judge Hatchett" was showing I was more than excited and I made sure that I wasn't going to miss a show so I set my DVR to record all new episodes. The problem that I have with this new show would be the defendants and plaintiffs look fake and they look like they are reading from a script. So to find out that they were actors was shocking for me. PLease return back to the Judge Hatchett Show that I loved because you helped kids and adults and there are more people the need your HELP that you gave.

Caught a couple of episodes of this today...was surprised and disgusted when the judge awarded, without hesitation, a woman $500 because her spa day was "ruined" after encountering a (clothed) trans woman at the facility. Nothing happened to her...she was suing the spa owner, apparently, because the trans woman was allowed to use the facility.

I would have awarded money to the trans woman for HER day being ruined. What an awful way to reward gross prejudice. I wonder how the judge would have reacted if the woman had been complaining of a black woman being present instead. You can't reward bigotry like this. It sets our whole society back. Plus, Judge Hatchett has publicly announced being transphobic with just a few curt statements.

    How disgusting!

I am disappointed that this show uses actors and actresses to play plaintiff and defendants. There is so much exaggerated acting that is so unrealistic. Please use real litigants. Judge Hatchett deserves better.
  • She seems to be an individual of great character and high values. She treats people as a judge should; with compassion but also with the toughness some people need to be able to understand the error of their ways. She rules with the kindness and understanding of a parent, but also as an officer of the court who is charged with the fair dispensation and interpretation of our laws. Her program always makes me think and keeps me riveted to see her final ruling.
  • Judge Hatchett has the habit of interjecting her personal experiences too much, in my opinion. It adds nothing of value to the production, and in many cases, is quite annoying. Just my opinion. Thanks
  • THE MUSIC IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY WHEN THE DEFENDENT AND CLAIMENT ARE SPEAKING, ESPECIALLY AT THE END WHEN THEY ARE TALKING ON WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO. THE MUSIC IS BLARING, AND YOU CANNOT HEAR WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. THIS ALSO HAPPENS DURING THE ACTUAL TRIAL. OTHER "JUDGE" SHOWS DO NOT HAVE THIS BLARING UNNECESSARY MUSIC AT THE WRONG TIME. WHY CAN'T IT BE LIKE THE OTHER JUDGE SHOWS??? IS THIS A REQUIREMENT OF THIS PARTICULAR SHOW??? OR IF "MUSIC" HAS TO BE PLAYED, WHY CAN'T IT BE REAL LOW AND SOFT INSTEAD OF THE BLARING "HORN SOUNDS" THAT CAUSE ME TO SWITCH CHANNELS, AND IF NOT COMPLETED, I WILL BE CONTACTING THE VARIOUS SPONSORS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT SEEING THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS.
  • The show is so obviously scripted with horrible actors. Boo!

I used to like Judge Hatchett's show when real litigants and cases were presented. But now The Verdict is no different than all of these other "reenactment" court shows... overacting is the main culprit. And most likely the "litigants" are reading off scripts when they're at their podiums. I have to agree with other posters in saying that her old show should be brought back.
  • A judge should go by the laws and not lecture people based on her own opinions. She talks about being Christian and yet knows nothing of the Bible and its laws. "Go and sin no more" does not mean do what you want and everyone should tolerate it. Plus, she embarrasses people on their beliefs that are not hers. Shameful judge.
  • Totally disagree. This student did go on the bus, ate, she went to other museums and places and the judge gave them back the full $1500.00. So she went for free? .

Watched today's show regarding a little girl who was sent her to Grandma's house and Grandma was suppose to do her hair. Shame on you for saying I WOULD NEVER LET MY CHILD GO OUT LOOKING LIKE THIS!. You never had to get someone to do your little girl's hair! Your hair is fried, dyed and white girl styled. Black History month be damned! Unfortunate that people are watching you and your opinions in 2023!

I can only do 600 words for a review or I can't submit! This is a total scam. Are you even reading these reviews! Who is looking at this, your staff? I hope someone in the public arena is looking! The below is b/c I can't submit anything less than 600 words. I don't need that much to make my point.
  • I just started watching this show. I don't agree with all of her views, it's clear that she has compassion for people. At least she takes the time to delve into, and clarify what people are saying.

    Warning: Spoilers
I tuned in this morning for the first time since this show began. I immediately googled the show to ask if it was scripted. I am very disappointed. Judge Hatchett is too good for this show. Please give her back a show with real litigants! She deserves better!
  • I just watched an episode with the Plaintiff and their daughter being African American. You ruled in favor with him and his daughter. Solely based on African American history, and wanting to visit such place with your son's. You are very one sided. I also feel that you need to realize that you are a woman or color, just like my kids. But you make your own path. Stop making a way for other people and see what s right. I feel you ruled this judgment on ethnicity alone.

She's a horrid judge! Most cases are actors. A give-away is the bad directors who instruct the actors to give each other ugly stairs and shake their heads before the case starts whereas real people tend not to look at each other, and are nervous. And she makes decisions based on her own personality with no relationship to law. It's supposed to mirror court yet she typically ignores the law. Her cosmetic surgery is awful, especially her eyes. Of the whole group of court shows which are mostly cancelled showing reruns, what a shame as the early ones were generally correct making them educational with occasional tough cases. Judge Molina, pleasant and almost always true to law AND Judge Judy, unpleasant, also usually correct, disappear and get replaced by mostly money grubbing failures.

Maybe it's the editing but the judgments are SO BAD. Then I find, they're fake- with actors. And the whole series of shows by the same Producers are equally bad. Judge Mathis has become a maniac so self-centered and into himself, it's offensive. Judge Ross with his repetitive "not today, not up in here," is the epitome of an egomaniac and as a legal consultant (not atty), I have a 90%+ record but w him it's 50/50.

Ross seems to be paid by turning down plaintiffs and I have full understanding of "proof," But 51% his what he says, 99% is what he demands. I predict the outcome correctly. 95% of the time despite his attempts to throw us off, vote with one side, then give them $1. What arrogance. I wish I was his judge and could treat him the way he treats others.

They say they're actors. No wonder they are on these shows probably getting paid minimum wage for the field. Most judges seemed highly bias against plaintiffs like their pay depends on it. Perhaps winning plaintiffs get more money. That's just my guess.
  • Although I do miss watching the long running live action Columbia TriStar Television/Sony Pictures Television court show that Judge Glenda Hatchett hosted back in 2000 until 2008, It does feel good to see her on TV again hosting another court show & surprisingly, it is just as good even though everything about this one is totally different. I also love that in this show, Judge Glenda Hatchett shares the same level of compassion & toughness she had on her previous show. When I first seen this, I didn't know if I would like it but after giving it a try, I can say that I do find it appealing & watchable. I even love how fair the rulings she makes are & wisdom she gives the litigants whom appear in her courtroom.
