  • This film was neither interesting nor convincing. It might have worked better on paper as a pulpy comic book but it failed to hit the mark as a horror thriller or fantasy drama. The CGI that flashed in and out of scenes looked like a cartoon and the acting fell flat most of the time. Scout I am sorry to say wasn't convincing in the role and the supporting cast didn't have much to work with either. The actual plot when unravelled was so ridiculous it was not even laughable it was just boring and lackluster. I believe maybe the screenplay read better on paper and was not well executed when all was said and done. This was wannabe Stranger Things meets X-Men meets Evil Dead meets The Exorcist, odd mix but nowhere near the quality of production to pull it off. Instead what is here might entertain a ten year old but not a comprehensive adult. I am just thankful I waited until it was streaming for free on Tubi. Nothing special watch at your own risk. Like I mentioned, this could make for a pulpy comic book but mostly fails as a film worth the time. Acting all around was mostly cringeworthy.

This movie plays like a teenager who has never seen a decent thriller, horror, or mystery. At. All.

The only part of this movie that I like is the end. So. Unfortunate.

The Blumhouse My Valentine is better overall.

    Warning: Spoilers
This is one colourful and bright looking film even in the so called dark scenes. This is a film about teenagers with all the usual clichéd characters: the jocks, cheerleader, the b#tchy character, the tough guy that has a heart, etc.

First scene there is a relieved female teenager they flags down a vehicle after escaping some ordeal and they drive off. It then goes to another scene and we are introduced to our lead troubled protagonist Dylan (Cameron Johnson).

He goes to a party but decides to leave early. There enters Bebe (Scout Taylor-Compton) that runs into him before passing out. He runs out of battery so he could not ring for the ambulance so returns to the party house. Upon waking up she confides in Dylan that she's a famous singer that is on the run from her minder... A mysterious man, Anton (Bret Roberts) knocks on the door and demands that they return Bebe to him. However the group of teenagers refuse and strange happenings occur.

I kind of guessed the twist having an inquisitive mind. It was ok film.

Don't really write reviews. Only reason I watched this, was because Scout Compton was in it. But the story and acting were all dry and stale. The main reason I'm writing this, is because the obscure concert shots near the end of Bebe (Scout) seem to be footage of Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless. Though I have no way of confirming.

    A ride
If you sit down to watch this and don't expect it to be a high budget film you will not be disappointed. Awesome watch and will be sure to watch again and again.

This is kinda scifi horror triller, thats not usual to make today, but was some 20-30 years ago. there are some hilariously bad acting here and there, the caracter that is the popstar seems so stuttering and inhales and exhales her words with great uncertainty. at the other end there are some of the cast doing overly well.

there are actually room for some good laughs in this flick, and its also that bit scary and gory that comes sneeking like a snake. production are quite flawless, filmographic style super, with not too much close ups, a bit hazy atmosphere, and good craftmanship all over sound and props wise. the magics of making good and reliable horror is the wizardry of editing, and here is a good example of decent work.

if it hadnt been for the shallow script and some clear misses from the casting department this would have lingered far higher than my 6 stars, have a look, the grumpy old man did, its full of speed, youth and badly made descisions. a recommend

This movie was surprisingly pretty cool. The plot is sort of generic, a group of teens stay behind at a secluded home after a wild graduation party and encounter strange occurrences. One of the boys runs into a famous pop star (scout taylor compton) who is injured and he takes her back to the house. Then a strange business like man shows up and claims that he needs her back and if he doesn't leave with her, then people will die. At first I thought this was some type of alien flick, but then you find out that the singer is a demon and so is the man that is after her. Soon the friends at the party begin to be turned into demons and start to ruthlessly murder each other. No real resolution at the end either, except for when the singer had fallen in love with the main teenager and absorbs his soul, making him a demon so she can stay with him forever and not upset her father, who turns out be Satan. Scream Queen Tiffany Shepis has a small role in this also. Great indie flick as well!

I think the musical score was good, and I feel like the actors all had good chemistry. I've seen many movies where the acting looks forced- this was not the case. The killing was a little slow to start, but then I loved how it got bloody. I almost feel like there needs to be a sequel to continue to elaborate on character backstory. I may e the only one who feels this way- but hey! I enjoyed it.
  • Seems like a generic horror/comedy with underage drinking and partying teens, but done very well. As soon as I saw the movie "The Night Watchmen" playing on the tv in the background I knew I was in for a treat. Solid movie.
