Netflix is gearing up for a busy end to 2022.

September seems to be a calm before the storm-of-sorts – the storm being a deluge of films set to be awards contenders when Oscar season rolls around.

The first of the streaming service’s high-profile films, set to arrive in the tail-end of the year, will be Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde, starring Ana de Armas.

Elsewhere, there is a bunch of non-Netflix films set to be added over the course of the month, as well as the return of everyone’s favourite Karate Kid spin-off TV series.

Netflix Orders 3 Seasons Of ‘CoComelon Lane’ Animated Preschool Series & Specials

Netflix has teamed with Moonbug Entertainment to bring more CoComelon and Little Baby Bum to the small screen.

The streaming giant has ordered three seasons of CoComelon Lane, a new animated series featuring the CoComelon characters, bringing new adventures from JJ and his best friends as they experience life’s big moments as little kids.

Netflix also has ordered four nursery rhyme compilation one-hour specials. All will begin rolling out in 2022.

Netflix also has greenlighted one season of new series Little Baby Bum: Music Time, based on the Little Baby Bum characters. Little Baby Bum: Music Time will invite preschoolers at home into their first exploration of rhythms, sounds, instruments, and other music fundamentals. Forty-eight seven-minute episodes will premiere in 2023.

Library catalogs for both CoComelon and Little Baby Bum will be available on Netflix.

Digital Kids’ Content Company ‘Moonbug’ Launches VOD Channel On Apple TV
Digital kids content purveyor Moonbug has launched a VOD service dubbed the Moonbug Kids Channel on Apple TV.

The offering -- a pre-school-aimed service comprising programming from Little Baby Bum, My Magic Pet Morphle, Supa Strikas, Go Buster, Playtime With Twinkle, and Gecko’s Garage -- is currently available for Apple TV users in the U.K., U.S., Canada, and Australia, and is set to expand to more countries soon. The channel is also available on the Apple TV app via Samsung smart TVs, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices.

Moonbug notes that its stable of popular kids’ content -- much of which has first found extraordinary success on YouTube -- aims to promote healthy values in kid viewers like compassion and resilience, while helping them learn important life skills.
