Maybe a little too near the knuckle, but as a drama, it was exceptional.
I am sure many will argue, that in the light of the surge in knife crimes across the country, that this episode was perhaps a little too close to home, but as last week's topic was relevant, drugs and knife crime is certainly a pressing issue on British streets.
As a story, I thought it was outstanding, it really did pack a punch, it was gripping, sad, totally engaging, and saw some rough justice being handed out. The performances were terrific once again, Colin Salmon literally standing head and shoulders above everyone, he was absolutely terrific, one of the best performances I've seen in Silent Witness for years.
A definite strong political episode once again, stop and search highlighted, with even a head teacher made to submit.
Even Samantha Womack's cougar character seemed to have a dark agenda, pouncing on poor Jack, the one lovely moment, was where a worried Clarissa embraced an injured Jack, the look on his face was lovely. It was a rare, uplifting moment.
I was surprised by just how many people at work were talking about the story, it definitely had an impact. 10/10
