You Are Here*
(2000)

Finally a Real Life movie.
Many movies claim that their story revolves in a "real life" atmosphere. They say their characters are "real";yet in the movie, everything seems to work out in the end."You Are Here*" is a realistic movie. The characters are just everyday people and maybe you know someone like them.Jeff Winner's introduction for the movie summed it up quite nice,he made a movie that people can relate to.When you watch it you might say,"Yeah,I know what that guy is going through.I've been there before." etc,etc..The point of the movie is this;you wake up and dread going to work but you go anyway. You waste away your day working for this company. You know there's something better out there but you are too afraid to go for it.Then one day you just snap. You break the confines of the mundane and just go for it.And in the end,you are alot happier."You Are Here*" is a great movie. One of the best independent films I've seen in awhile.A hell of alot better than "Gummo".Ugh,read my review for that.

Kids
(1995)

See this movie.
Kids is a powerful film. One that makes you think. It's kind of like a tour of the city and the lives of today's kids without running the risk of getting jumped. The actors performances are flawless. All of them represent the arrogance and angst of the characters.Justin Pierce's character,"Casper" is what makes the movie entertaining. All in all it's a good movie. One you can watch again and again.

Gummo
(1997)

Gummo;Overated
Gummo is overated.I heard about this movie from many people. They all said how its so great and how I have to see it.Well,I enjoyed KIDS,it's a bit shocking, maybe a little perverse, but it was entertaining.Gummo is not shocking, but very perverse and quite pointless.Hicks ride around on bikes, get dirty, kill cats and have sex with retards.I cant tell you how long Ive waited for someone to make a movie about that!Thought provoking?Definately.I will definately think twice about renting another one of Harmony's movies.Dont see this movie if you respect yourself.Dont believe the hype. Its not a brilliant, modern, shocking, innovative or unique film.It sucks.Plain and simple.Rent Gone with The wind or Casablanca, maybe even the Pokemon Movies, but dont see this.

Swordfish
(2001)

A film that turned out to be surprisingly good.
Swordfish is a film about a hacker named Stanley Jobson(Hugh Jackman) who is hired by a terrorist/spy named Gabriel Shear(John Travolta) to break into some untapped Government funds for Shear's own use.The film starts out with a monologue from Shear that is quite comical, quite entertaining and pretty much true. You'll see what I mean when you see it. After a few interactions between characters we are treated to an explosion and then we are wisked away to the magical land of "4 days earlier". That's when the storyline unfolds and the action begins. Stanley Jobson is a former hacker turned no one who just wants to lead a quiet life. But there's something that he wants, something that he can't live without and he isn't even allow to see it;his daughter. Due to his run ins with the law,his ex-flame has refused to give him visitation rights. Stan finally gets a chance to get his daughter back when an attractive woman named Ginger, arrives at his trailor door wearing a very delicious dress. But Stanley, being the hardened ex-con that he is,refuses to help her or Shear until Ginger(Halle Berry) reveals to him that his reward will be money, lots of money. Enough money to pay for lawyers to get his daughter back. Now Stanley's in.

What follows is a slew of twists and turns, techno music, and possibly one of the most unnecessary nude scenes ever. It's obvious that the director stuck this in there as sort of an alternate way to get people to see it. He must have thought that if his movie got bad reviews,at least he could entice people into seeing Halle Berry's breasts. Don't get me wrong,I didn't mind the scene,I just thought it could have been done in a more suitable way.

Overall the film holds it's own against current money making power houses like Shrek and the upcoming Moulin Rouge, which will devour lonely house wive's dollars like children at a Pokemon convention. If you like action, hacking, and a whole lot of techno then I reccomend Swordfish to you.

Dungeons & Dragons
(2000)

Some much potential down the drain.
D&D could have been so much better. From the opening scene I knew this movie was going to be terrible. The bad guy was heavily lacking evilness.I dont know about you,but if this guy told me to bow down and serve him I'd say "Yeah right.Hey,nice haircut.".The bad guy's assistant is played the worst actor ever.I dont know what his name is because I dont care. This guy exaggerates every word he says.He did it in Highlander:endgame and he does it in this movie too.So you'd think that the good guys would be cool huh? No such luck. They are played by Marlon "the almost funny one" wayans and some reject from the real world.I dont know how these guys got the parts they did,I mean Marlon Wayans holds the world record for most sitcoms cancelled doesnt he? And this other dude is like,"I tried to be a tough guy but I just couldnt grow my damn beard in!" The whole story is horrible.2 hours of septor stealing.Wow.Im telling you folks, thats the best story line ever.It doenst get any better.Braveheart,Gladiator,Matrix? They just dont compare to the septor stealing action that DnD conjures up.I cant wait until they make a sequel where the bad guy is even more laughable and the story line is even more shallow.LIke they could maybe have to find the magic hamburger from an elf in hawaii.yeah,i cant wait.

Braveheart
(1995)

Superb acting,directing,fight sequences and score.
Braveheart is one of those movies that you dont just watch and then forget. Its an epic. This movie will stay with you for a long time.It exemplifies honor, dignity and will power. The story of William Wallace and his battles to free Scotland from the tyranny of King Longshanks is so well told that its the kind of movie that you can watch over and over again.Granted there are some romance parts but I think they are in good taste and they show the loneliness of both Wallace and the Princess of England. There is even some comedy to boot.I recommend this film to any and all.If you dont like this movie, you have no taste.
