The Christmas Chronicles
(2018)

Great family movie
Really enjoyed this movie. Fun, funny, and good humour suitable for adults and children alike. A great family Christmas movie.

Hubie Halloween
(2020)

Ruined by the stupid, unintelligible voice
I'm never going to expect an Oscar worthy film involving Adam Sandler, but some of his movies are quite funny and watchable.

This film probably had some promise as a funny family film but was totally destroyed by Sandler's ridiculous and difficult to understand voice he used.

I've no idea why anyone in the production team or Sandler himself thought it somehow enhanced the viewing pleasure.

I lost interest in the film as a result as I don't enjoy being about 6 sentences behind the dialogue trying to work out what was just said.

Maybe I should have watched with subtitles on.

Terminator: Dark Fate
(2019)

Utter garbage. Wooden acting.
I've been a massive fan of the terminator films since the original. Terminator 2 still impresses me against modern films every time I watch it.

How on earth did it come to this sorry so called sequel?

It is almost unwatchable, and anyone who has paid more than 5 seconds attention in the prior films will find more holes in the storyline than a Swiss cheese.

The acting and scripting is absolutely apalling.

Nothing to like or enjoy at all. Don't bother watching or parting with any of your hard earned cash.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw
(2019)

Highly entertaining and fun
If you're looking for an Oscar nominee, stop reading now. But if you're looking for entertainment and laughs then you may enjoy this film.

I had very low expectations, especially with the fast and furious connection. Let's be honest, they were all basically the same film with different numbers.

Whilst this film is ridiculous and far fetched in many places, it does it with a style that left a smile on my face.

Easy watching over a glass of wine on a Friday night. Really enjoyed it, and that is very much unexpected.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
(2019)

Best John Wick movie to date
Great action, high bodycount, high tempo movie. Better than the fist 2 movies which is pretty unusual.

Highly entertaining. If you're super picky you can find holes in the story and action scenes - but that's not the point.

Just sit back and enjoy. Highly enjoyable and fun film.

Recommended.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
(2018)

If I could rate this zero, I would
This is simply one of the worst films I have ever seen.

The most pathetic, wooden "acting". Cheesy moments. Tenuous story. And not that great singing - destroying the memory of one of the best pop groups ever.

Avoid.

FML
(2016)

Absolute tosh.
This attracted my attention because it at 4.5 stars rating my on sky TV, and 7.7 on imdb.

I have no idea what others have seen in this film but my 1 star says is all (probably generous too).

Shot Caller
(2017)

Dark, gruesome, surprisingly good movie
I had no expectations when I saw this. Had never heard of it before, seen any reviews or any trailers.

But what a great movie. Very original, fantastic acting, thoroughly enjoyable.

Highly recommended.

Dunkirk
(2017)

Over-hyped and terribly loud and annoying soundtrack
I don't write reviews very often but feel compelled to do so on this occasion.

I was really looking forward to seeing this film after all the rave reviews. But to say I am disappointed is an understatement.

This has to be one of the most over-hyped films of recent times, with little storyline, depth and narrow focus of such a significant event in WW2.

In addition, the soundtrack in the film has this constant VERY LOUD screeching music and effects that frankly just got on my nerves, totally spoiling the little enjoyment I would otherwise have got.

Save your money and avoid.
