Madame Web
(2024)

There's a lot of angry people reviewing this movie?
It's kind of frustrating and funny at the same time. All these people give 1s and 2s. I just see them as living in someone's basement in front of a computer and a half eaten bowl of popcorn by their bed. Maybe that's me. This definitely wasn't a great movie, but it also wasn't a horrible movie. I'm not really sure why people are giving it a 1 and a 2. I can understand maybe a 4. If you're really into Spiderman maybe people thought that it was trying to copy Spiderman, but it really wasn't directly. It just seems like people are dealing in absolutes these days. It's just there are movies either gonna be a 10 or 1. There's no in between. And that's where this movie is. It's definitely in between.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire
(2023)

"Deja Vu: The Space Odyssey"
There's even a lightsaber duel thrown in for good measure, just to make sure no franchise is left unscathed.

There's really no reason anyone could say this is a horrible movie. The problem is there is ZERO originality. On almost every scene I could tell you which movie that scene was recycled from. When the evil overlord "bad people" show up, somehow I kept thinking they would look milky white skinned and dressed like members of the SS????? WHAT!!! How was I exactly right????? This "sci-fi homage" ransacks the genre's treasure chest, leaving viewers with a sense of déjà vu more profound than a Keanu Reeves time-travel marathon.

The plot? A ragtag crew of space misfits embarks on a mission to save Earth from the evil nazis...wait, wasn't that "Guardians of the Galaxy"?

SO?? Should you watch "Deja Vu"? If you're a sci-fi enthusiast with a encyclopedic knowledge of the genre and a penchant for meta-humor, then maybe. It's a guilty pleasure, a cinematic mixtape of your favorite (and not-so-favorite) sci-fi moments. But for anyone expecting genuine innovation or a fresh take on the genre, steer clear. This spaceship is headed straight for the been-there, done-that nebula.

Final verdict: 4 out of 10 hyperdrives. More of a "deja meh" than a "deja vu."

Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls
(2023)

The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Marcus! sorry i meant Onyx.
People giving low ratings have no appreciation for movies writhe with cheesy innuendo and dry comedy. This is a instant cult classic. If, for no other reason people watch this movie it should be for the fight scene between Onyx and his step father "Todd". I hope there will be more to come from Bowser. This film is ridiculously entertaining and fun for the whole family. This quirky indie film that defies easy categorization. It's part comedic romp, part occult adventure, and throws in a dash of coming-of-age for good measure. The result is a surprisingly delightful concoction that's sure to tickle your funny bone and send shivers down your spine in equal measure.

Meet Onyx, the Not-So-Average Joe.

Lamborghini - The Man & His Machines
(2022)

An Amazing Man Who Built Amazing Cars.
The film does an excellent job of chronicling Lamborghini's life and his legacy.

Ferruccio Lamborghini was an Italian industrialist who founded Lamborghini, a car manufacturer, in 1963. The company produced high-performance vehicles, including the famous Miura and Countach. Lamborghini's cars were known for their distinctive designs and powerful engines.

Lamborghini was a fascinating man who lived an extraordinary life. His cars are a reflection of his personality and his passion for performance.

The Lamborghini story is an inspiring one, and the film is sure to please car enthusiasts and fans of Italian culture.

Deep Water
(2022)

Deep Water May Have Deeper Meaning.
People giving 1 star and claiming "waste of time!" are just simpletons who need a hundred million dollars worth of computer graphics just to get a rise. True Adrian Lyne fans aren't much concerned with ratings and reviews. With film credits such as "9 1/2 weeks" and "Indecent Proposal" Lyne has nothing to prove. That being said, "Deep Water" was simplistic with a minimalist story line that not everyone is going to love or understand. Contrasted with beauty and capturing deep, dark emotion through cinematography and conveying that to the audience has always been the goal. "Deep Water" is just classic Lyne. A beautiful train wreck that's hard to turn away from. Emotionally dark, somber, and heart felt.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
(2021)

A Lot of Thought Went Into This Movie.
If you like the Conjuring trilogy or not, The cinematography is insane! Every piece of this film was mulled over with impeccable detail.

Vivarium
(2019)

A Film With a Purpose.
This film is obviously lashing out at anything traditional. Especially in regard to family, home ownership, and having children. The clear message being, traditional values are an outdated relic of the past.

Almost Blue
(1996)

I Give The Movie A 4 and Lynette Walden An 11.
This film was a nice attempt at gritty psychological film noir. I've always been crazy in love with Lynette Walden ever since I saw her in, a little known, made for T.V. movie "Saved By The Light". She always steals the show in just about anything she plays in. Lynette, my details are in the profile, if you're ever around Charlotte, look me up, I'll show you the town ;)

Little Joe
(2019)

Beautiful and Creative Use of Pastal Colors Combined With Minimalism
This movie is a perfect example of what can be achieved on a shoe string budget when talent is leading the way. The story is simplistic and heart felt.

Ad Astra
(2019)

The setting should have been on Uranus. Because that's where this belongs!
Ad Astra spelled backwards. "Art sad a?" YEP! You're breaking my heart Brad. What happened to you?

Up There
(2019)

People Who Judge Based On The 10/10 Ratings Should Actually Watch The Movie.
6/10 Definitely worth your time!! This movie has a great story with great actors and will keep your interest. I love the small town setting with the woodsy mountainous back drops. The cinematography definitely shines in this area. It took me back to when I used to visit my grandparents. One major critique though. The opening scene where "Jack" walks into the retail store and is forced to trade his jacket for a phone charger from the over the top "I don't give a crap millennial" character, made absolutely no since and almost forced me to ditch right then and there, but I'm glad I didn't. The stunningly beautiful and talented actress Claudia Doumit who played the part of "Tina", I believe, was completely miscast. The throwback 90's grunge toboggan wearing "Clerks" type character just didn't fit in any way. Sorry :(...

The Texture of Falling
(2018)

To The Naysayers I Say. Did You Even See The Film?
Being a low budget film, I wasn't expecting much. The ability of Maria to put together such a beautiful piece on a shoestring says a lot about her talent and attention to detail. I was immediately touched by the level of thought that was put into every scene. The aesthetics, lighting and locations were amazing. To say I'm looking forward to more of her work would be an understatement.

Infinity Chamber
(2016)

I've seen worse.
The only good thing about this film was Cassandra Clark.

Alita: Battle Angel
(2019)

This Movie Pays Amazing Homage to the Original Anime.
If you get the chance, definitely see it in the theater. I don't think they missed a single detail from the original animation. It was everything I expected and a lot more.

Venom
(2018)

Recycled Story Line But Very Entertaining and Hilarious!
ZZZZe loser white guy tries to slip past his landlord without paying hizzzz rent??? This movie should be in the comedy genre. Even if you're not a Marvel fan you'll like the catchy wit and comedic value. As far as the story? It's been done at least 15 times in the last 15 years. But definitely worth your time.

Dragged Across Concrete
(2018)

The Title is Perfect Because That's How You Feel After 30 Minutes of Trying to Watch It.
This movie is obviously trying to recreate a Tarantino Pulp Fiction type vibe with lots of entertaining and meaningful dialogue. Except the dialogue wasn't entertaining or meaningful. Just excruciatingly boring with some gratuitous violence thrown in. Three quarters of the movie is literally the characters riding around in vehicles talking about nothing. Another thing I noticed was there was 0 music? WTF is happening to Hollywood? It's almost like they're in a race to make the crappiest movies possible.

Prospect
(2018)

Nicely Put Together.
This movie goes to show what is possible on a shoe string budget when you have a good story and great directing/editing etc. Very well put together.

Back Roads
(2018)

The Definition of a Dark Psychological Thriller
I give the movie "Back Roads" a 6 out of 10. I've been anticipating this movie since it was announced in 2013. Based on the novel by Tawni O'dell "Back Roads" originally featured Adrian Lyne("Lolita", "9 1/2 Weeks", "Unfaithful", "Jacobs Ladder") as director. 3 years ago it was decided that Alex Pettyfer would take the reins. Being an Adrian Lyne fan, I was disappointed but not without hope. Much to my chagrin it actually grabbed my attention immediately and held it throughout. This being Pettyfer's film debut as director I was quite impressed. Pettyfer playing "Harley" is tormented and withdrawn but willing to sacrifice everything for his family. The real treat of this film is the absolute POWERHOUSE female line up that includes Morrison, Peltz, Aurelia, Finley, Carryl, and Lewis which ALL lay down an un-forgettable barrage of incredible performances. The sexual energy between Pettyfer and his love interest played by Morrison is thick and undeniable. The score is noir modern which is fitting. The scenery and lighting is carefully crafted. If you like twisted suspense thrillers with a powerful purpose then you'll like this. If you like movies with a meaningful message at the end, then you will love this!

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
(2017)

How Did This Get a 6.9?
The story of a Jewish family going through life struggles. Nothing very original or exiting about this film. I suppose the acting was pretty good, but if you don't have a story to back it up then what's use?

Sicario: Day of the Soldado
(2018)

One of Those Rare Sequels That's as Good as The First.
Great action. Great Story, Awesome ending. Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin are good as always. They did leave a few open ends. Not sure if that was intentional to lead up to another one.

Let Me Make You a Martyr
(2016)

Another Hollywood Promotion Film of Drug Use and Suicide. Because It Made Me Want to Slit My Wrists.
If you can make It to the last 20 Minutes without blowing your brains out, It gets good. If you love watching junkies shoot up, you'll love this! No real story to speak of. I may have to watch it more than once to actually pick up on any real plot but I would surely be dead. Oh yeah, and Manson(which is the only reason I watched this) was as stiff as a board.

The Little Stranger
(2018)

2 Hours of My Life.....Gone!
There's obviously a contest going on in Hollywood to see who can make the most depressing, movies with no ending. If this is some kind of new genre or writing style it really blows.

This World, Then the Fireworks
(1997)

Knock Out Best Film Noir/Dark Comedy For Me.
My first viewing was in the early 2000s , by chance, on the Sun Dance film festival channel. Definitely an under rated film that grabbed me and has stuck to this day. For me, this film is the standard by which all other film noir is judged. Maybe not the original but definitely well crafted and always hits those dark notes you would expect. I also just wrote most of this with the musky voice of Billy Zane narrating it in my head.

The Trump Prophecy
(2018)

Man is Haunted by Donald Trump Becoming POTUS Dreams in 2011.
This is the true story about a man who thinks he's going insane. Although he is not a fan of Trump he hears voices telling him that Donald Trump is going to be president in 2016. The really crazy thing is that this was all happening back in 2011 and was documented by his clinical psychiatrist.

DriverX
(2017)

I've Got Your Ending Right Here.
Leonard finds out his wife is having an affair with Harry but Harry's wife already knew so she scheduled a ride to tell Leonard but couldn't. Leonard and Dawn have another huge blowup because Leonard's pissed because he's the last one to find out everyone's cheating so he comes clean about his driverx shenanigans and heads back out to work. He then gets an emergency call from Tom needing a ride to the ER because his girlfriend has overdosed. In the end seen after Tom's girlfriend is stabilized, Leonard and Tom have a meaningful conversation in the waiting room about how crazy life is when he gets a text from his wife wanting to reconcile. The text reads "I could really use some of your lasagna and salad".....end scene. There you go. Call me anytime Hollywood!
