Well Acted. Very Contrived I'm conflicted. The acting is universally great, but Kerry's "Mia" character has to be one of the most self-serving, manipulative, and unsympathetic character I've seen on TV in a long time. ((Of course, I could only stomach two episodes of The Handmaid's Tale, but that's a whole other gripe.)
The story is so contrived, especially with the whole Elena's sister adopts illegal Chinese baby whose birth mother is friends with Mia who's working for Elena. Give me a break.
But like I said, the acting is universally great however Washington's three-note performance gets a little tiring. Maybe the problem is the source material. I've never read the novel(s) but the apple can't be far from the tree.
If Mia was intended to be the one we as the audience were suppose to root for, the show creators failed horribly.
Forcing myself to finish the series, I'm dropping my rating.
I will add this could be called "Little Fires Everywhere, aka White People Bad." I think the series must've had Robin whats-her face as a consultant.
It's kind of sad that Reece is type-casting herself as simply a different shade of her "Big Little Lies" character.
The fact this series has garnered so many awards/honor is laughable. Tells us how out of touch Hollywood really is.
