  • Warning: Spoilers
There are some movies that should never be remade, and Roadhouse is one of them. I like Jake Gyllenhal but he did not have Patrick Swayze's too cool factor and the cliches just didn't work. There was absolutely no chemistry between the lead actor and actress. No sparks whatsoever. The plot was rice paper thin with holes everywhere. One of the biggest things missing in my opinion was the lack of a Wade Garret, the older wise cooler with the voice of reason or fatherly advice. The only saving point of this movie is the comic relief between Dalton and the biker bad guys. There were parts that were genuinely funny. Other than that, it was a flop for me. There was no history with the bar employees and the bar owner was completely unconvincing. That said, the casting was horribly wrong on so many levels. Conner McGregor was a fun character but way over the top and unnecessary. The was no history or back story where he came from and the main bad guy, is in prison and you never even see him. Never! I'll say it again, some movies should be left alone and never remade. Roadhouse is one of these movies. I digress.
  • I keep hoping each episode get's better but it doesn't. There is absolutely no chemistry between Emma Stone's character and her husband. The incredibly odd and manual sex scene they share is comical at best and hard to digest as their reality. I wish them good luck on pulling this one from the trash bin but they are already into episode 3 and it's not looking very positive. Skip this entirely or if you must disappoint yourself, watch episode 1 and blow off the rest. I can't believe Showtime is making crap like this and dumped Bellator to make more original content. Oh well, worse decisions have been made by subscription television.
  • This movie has an epic lineup of actors and yet the entire cast couldn't act it's way out of a wet paper bag. The dialogue is absolutely hideous and the director must have been absent the entire production. I can't believe that anyone watched this and thought, "wow, let's release this masterpiece now, it's ready". Liam Hemsworth was the icing on the cake. I know he's the new "hot" actor in Hollywood but my god, he can't act to save his life! As far as Billy Bob Thornton, John Malcovich, Oliver Platt, Bruce Dern, etc., it has to be the director! These are all proven, incredible and successful actors with the worst script ever written. The forced Southern drawl and verbiage are so, so, so bad.

The sad thing is, this movie could have been good. It could have been great with the right direction and timing. But, it's just not even watchable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this debacle.
  • Whomever wrote and produced this movie should be absolutely disgusted with themselves. This is nothing more than exploitation of a mentally ill woman that probably should not have been executed because of her mental health issues. Not only are the acts in this movie unsubstantiated but they are outright lies at a certain point. If Aileen Wuornos has any family to speak of, I hope they sue these people and win. This movie is GROSSLY irresponsible!
  • What a flop. It's as though everyone involved with this movie had never seen a war movie. EVER! Do yourself a favor and rewatch Hurt Locker or Saving Private Ryan and skip this sorry excuse of a movie.
  • Great movie with a twist. Terrific black comedy that some may have a difficult time understanding or think it is shallow or superficial. It is actually a great think piece and quite entertaining. Great watch!
  • If you are looking for blood, gore and cruelty, this is not the Ted Bundy movie you want to see. This is a move about the other side and the other lives destroyed indirectly by his actions. The women that flock to serial killers and the women that stick with them til the end. I am continually impressed with Zach Ephron's versatility and Lilly Collins put on an award worthy performance as well. Good, good movie!
  • This is an amazing black comedy/drama that sheds a very factual account of the tragic life of Tonya Harding. Margo Robbie deserves an Oscar for her perfect portrayal of Miss Harding and the life of abuse she encountered. Several Academy Awards will be won from this movie possibly best actress. Don't hesitate to spend $12.00 to see this piece or art!
