The Terminal List
(2022)

Solid Series!
A Solid series with a barebones suspense, action, plot with good performances all around. Chris Pratt was a welcome surprise, this is the strongest acting performance of his career to date. Playing a violent, tortured soul filled with rage and obsessed with finding his targets at any cost. And he does a pretty good job bringing author Jack Carr's protagonist to life from the book.

Couple issues is the length and repetitive memory lapse, scenes that get bloated at times. There's interesting stuff going on, just wish it could get to them a lot sooner and left many of these moments out on the cutting room floor cause they were objectively not needed at times.

Cinematography is a standout here. Action scenes are competently shot and well choreographed, the authenticity of US navy seals training, fire-arms handling, and combat tactics is a great bonus. This is a well-made, well-intentioned series by a production team who understand the source material and what they are making which is rare to see these days. It's not a perfect show or mindblowing but it's a step in the right direction, and I would like to see more.

Ramel Carter
(2018)

Great Short Action Film
"Ramel Carter" is a great well put together short action film that stays true to its guns from start to finish. With a good plot and story to go with good action, good acting performances, great editing, with a nice score, the movie is an intriguing action flick to watch.

The biggest standouts from this short film is the fighting choreography and the editing. The action scenes and fight sequences are smooth and convincing, some moments are a little over exaggerated but doesn't take away the intensity and pace of the action sequences as well as the narrative. The editing is put together well, going from one scene to the next it's very straight forward, many cross fade ins and fade outs to move the narrative along. With Good use of camera angles and shots. In addition, The sound design of the Fighting sequences are excellent.

Overall, It's a great short action flick that doesn't deviate away from it's tone and delivers an intense story from the beginning to it's climax. (9 out of 10 Stars)

Glass
(2019)

"GLASS" , Not Your Average Superhero Movie with Great Twists
M.Night Shyamalan's "GLASS" is a very good and very original take on the now extremely crowded and overdone Superhero, Comic-Book movie genre today. Concluding, Expanding, and Revelation on a story arc that began 19 years ago. Which is a very long awaited time for a movie sequel, but the long wait here delivers well. But probably not in a manner most audiences and fans of the Superhero genre would expect.

"GLASS" is a story about Comic books, Superheros, and Villains and how the three stars of the film Bruce Willis, James McAvoy, and Samuel L. Jackson's Characters are each an embodiment of Superhero, Comic Book aspects. The film also plays around with all the commonly known Superhero genre cliches and twists them in interesting new directions. The biggest standout's from this film was the performances and the movie's execution. The entire cast is very good, although James McAvoy's "Kevin Crumb and the Horde" steals just about every single scene and he plays his role (or roles) extremely well and convincingly. Upcoming star Anya Taylor-Joy was also a nice standout in this despite having a small part. In addition, the main plot of the film takes some time to get too, but the story does a solid job of tying together all the characters and story arcs from the previous two films, "UNBREAKABLE" (2000) and 'SPLIT" (2016) and making sense of it all, in a complex, twisted, not what you will expect, manner. To add, the story in this film is very complex, so if you are looking for a Simple, Straight forward, Elaborate, Fantasy, Eye Candy, Spectacle packed, Superhero movie, like any of the MCU or DCEU movies, you may not like this one. It is a very "Grounded" Superhero film.

As for the movie's execution, the film is told from Subjective Camera Angles, Reverse Shots, and Parallel editing. The film involves the audience heavily, creating discomfort, showing superiority, and dominance from all the main and supporting characters. Personally it gave me vibes a little bit of Jonathan Demme's "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991). In other words, Shyamalan has the audience play a part in this film, which is a cool creative choice. And the film also presents a great, interesting, thematic, message, to it's viewers.

Finally Overall, personally I think this is one of the Better Superhero genre films made recently. It's very original, it's made and put together well, the performances are very good, as well as all the characters, and the writing and direction is interesting to watch. The film is not Shyamalan's greatest work, but definitely one of his best. I think it is "Ok" to say Mr. Shyamalan has finally found his filmmaking magic again. (7.9 out of 10 Stars).

Pacific Rim Uprising
(2018)

"How to Ruin a Franchise" Pacific Rim: Uprising
Make no mistake, "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is an awful movie. Despite being a sequel, the world of the movie is set in a completely different universe with very little to no relation or connection to the original classic. Overall, this movie undoes and destroys everything about the original. The whole movie is a Rehash of the first film with a heavy addition of forced humor, childish jokes, and dialogue that is exactly what people who don't like Marvel Movies think all the dialogue in Marvel movies is like. Filled with Cheap heavily Lit CGI spectacles and characters that look like five feet tall toy action figures, with no focus or development at all on character, story, and importantly realism. All aspects that were very strong in the first film.

Furthermore, there are some features that may entertain. It is a giant robots vs giant alien monsters movie, so if your interested in those things this could be worth a watch for you. But if your looking for a good Sci-fi action flick with good characters, development, writing, etc. I recommend you avoid this. Especially if your a big fan of the first Pacific Rim you will definitely loathe this movie. Personally, I couldn't make it through watching the whole movie because the acting and dialogue in this is really bad. However, Children will definitely enjoy this it's a movie geared towards kids.

On a final note, this sequel dropped the ball big time, with all that was established from the first movie. I really believe the artists and filmmakers behind the making of this misunderstood the property they were working on, as well as the audiences they had. Which is really unfortunate since this property has a really great, interesting, inspiring, cool, world and concept. Hopefully there will be better fortune if any for "Pacific Rim" movies in the future. Because this somewhat of a sequel is a downgrade beyond a joke. (2 out of 10 Stars)

The Predator
(2018)

A "OK", Modern 80's, Sci-Fi Action Addition to the "Predator" Film Franchise
"The Predator", the Fourth Film in the Predator franchise is somewhat an Entertaining, Fun, Science Fiction, Action movie. But Due to a Non-Convincing story, with little to No logic, a lot of forced humor, and weak storytelling, all crammed into a 2 hour running time, the film falls short of being a great one.

The biggest flaws with "The Predator" is the Editing and Pacing which are both very fast. The movie starts off in a "big bang", viewers are thrown into the middle of Action and never slows down until it's final minutes. The pacing of the movie is so quick that roughly all of the characters and sub plots don't get enough time to stand out and feel as though they just appear and vanish out of nowhere. The Editing is very quick, so quick all information is "shouted out" to viewers hoping they can keep up. The film's narrative is rich with Predator Lore, which fans of the franchise will enjoy, but most of it is told through only inferences or mentioned briefly. The movie has tons of information and sequences all happening at once and a lot of that gets distracted most of the time from a lot of forced dark, silly, jokes from a lot of the characters and their actions.

Visually, the movie is not bad, but a lot of it is very noticeable, especially the CGI. The movie has good Action bits, the action is very 80's style. The movie itself plays like a typical Marvel Movie meets "Commando" and "Lethal Weapon", with a strong "Predator 2" Vibe to it. It's a lot of action with a lot of humor. The story is ridiculous and non-believable, but in a fun way, there is little to no logic at all in this movie which can be annoying but it doesn't hurt the movie too much.

On a final note, if you are a big fan of the original 1987 Masterpiece, you probably may not like this Predator movie. If you like/love the franchise for the Predator Character and all the lore and pop culture of the Predator, there is fun enjoyment here.

Personally, I found this Predator movie interesting but nothing more. I'm not to sure what the Director and Writer Shane Black was going with this, but if his goal was to make the movie "fun", it definitely does just that. I would say this is the Third Best "Predator" movie in the Franchise. It's an "OK" fun, Sci-Fi, Action Flick. (5.5 out of 10 Stars).

Avengers: Infinity War
(2018)

Good Superhero Epic, Falls Short from being a Great One.
Avengers: Infinity War" was a Good Superhero Epic. But due to it's EXTREME Overstuffed amount of Marvel Cinematic Universe Lore, Characters, No plot, Little to No "Technical Science" at all, with Nothing Solved in the movie's Runtime, it falls short of being a Great Superhero/Comic Book Film.

So was this Movie worth the Decade Wait? Well, let be put it this way, if you only cared or enjoyed Marvel's Movies for the "Spectacle's" and "Marvel Action" in general with your favorite Superhero characters, This movie is for you, But if your looking forward to a Great Superhero Film, Not mention A Great "Standalone", with Great "Justified" Action, Drama, and Development. Your going to be disappointed.

Overall, this movie realistically is a gussied-up mediocrity being widely mistaken for an excellent film. It's a Good, Fun, Entertaining, Superhero, Epic, but it's not a Great Movie. Personally, It was Fun, I Yelled and Cheered for my favorite characters with friends in a Sold Out Crowd and that's all I can take away from reflecting on it.

On a final note, I wouldn't put this movie in the same ranks or better than "Logan", "Man of Steel", "Wonder Woman", "Spider-Man 2", "The Dark Knight", "The Dark Knight Rises", or "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as a Superhero/Comic-book Film Masterpiece. It's a Good Epic Movie worth seeing, but nothing more. (7 out of 10 Stars).

Black Panther
(2018)

Overrated, Over Hyped, Nothing New To Be Seen Here.
"Black Panther" is the first Big Budget and Ensemble Cast Black Superhero/Comic Movie made in history. Despite all that was put into the production of this film, all audiences get is yet another Typical, Very Generic, and Over the top Cliched Superhero/Comic movie that has been shown and told hundreds of times before.

Despite the movie's extreme lack of originality, there is some entertainment to enjoy here. The World of the movie is not only good looking and interesting but very Sophisticated, the most ever seen in the Superhero film genre. There is a lot of "Eye-Candy" to see throughout the movie but it cannot cover up the lack of storytelling and "Amateurish" acting from a good cast of acting talent. From Costume design, to certain set pieces, make-up, etc. are well done, but are often ruined and spoiled due to Poor and Weak Visual effects work. If your expecting a Great Visual Effect Superhero Movie Spectacle prepare to be disappointed here. The CGI is very noticeable and often times characters and objects look like Cartoons. In addition, the choreography in the action and fight scenes are slow and obvious, looking like actors in Theater Rehearsals waiting for their cues.

Furthermore, The performances are good, Chadwick Boseman and Letitia Wright stand out the most overall, including the acting chemistry between the two of them. The weakest and worst of the bunch are Micheal B. Jordan and Martin Freeman as both their characters were not only generic, but extremely Dull. Martin Freeman's "Everett K. Ross" was meaningless, had no real purpose to be involved in the narrative at all, and add Michael B. Jordan's "Killmonger" to the List of Forgettable Villains, which has become a consistent trend in Marvel Studio movies over the recent years. Others such as Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis's characters perform well with what they were working with, but both have limited screen time to help really benefit the film's narrative at all.

Finally, "Black Panther" is a Comic/Superhero movie that stays true to it's guns from beginning to end. It doesn't deviate from it's tone and story arc unlock most Marvel Studios movies always do. On a personal note, it's good to finally get another Marvel Studios movie that focuses on it's Title Character instead of a Superhero movie that follows multiple characters and story arcs at the same time that are pointless with no meaning to the Main Title's Protagonist.

Overall, "Black Panther" may be another forgettable Superhero Movie, but it is a decent addition to the Comic Book Superhero Genre, including to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
