Whenever I take on the task of reviewing Arrow either at the start of a new season or months after it whenever the requisite home video release drops, I often wonder if I’ll run out of things to say. After all, this show’s about to head into its eighth and final season, and I’m about to reflect on the seventh. Fortunately, the producers aren’t keen to rest on their laurels, and are willing to take a few risks even late in the game.
When it comes to those risks, though, I think it may be subjective as to which viewers enjoyed them most. If for any reason the past year of broadcasting proved divisive, I can certainly understand why, because the Arrow we received was very different from that of years prior.
For those not up to speed, it’s important to remember that season 6 ended...

To say that Dinah Drake and Earth-2’s Laurel Lance have a complicated history is putting it mildly. If you’ll recall, the latter killed the former’s boyfriend, Vigilante, last season on Arrow, thus fanning the flames for one of Star City’s most heated rivalries – and it’s not like those two got along to begin with.
Now, one would assume they’ve had some time to cool off, especially after seeing Dinah grant Laurel mercy during the latter portion of season 6. One can only hope this means Ms. Lance will continue life on the straight and narrow, but she tends to have a hard time controlling her temper.
As it turns out, the two will cross paths again next week in “The Longbow Hunters,” and based on what the images found in the gallery below tell us, they may very well team up. The downside, however, is...

With Arrow set to return from its summer vacation in a matter of hours, viewers should know that Oliver Queen will run into a few old friends while in prison. To be more specific, Vinnie Jones, Michael Jai White and Cody Rhodes will each reprise their respective roles of Danny Brickwell, Bronze Tiger and Derek Sampson.
Now, from the sound of it, yet another familiar face is taking up residence at Slabside, but we’re going to have to wait to find out exactly who it is. While recently speaking with ComicBook.com, lead actor Stephen Amell first shed light on what’s to come by discussing how Ollie’s in a much different place when we join him:

Not only is Arrow‘s Ricardo Diaz simply down and not out, he may be back bigger than ever.
TVLine has confirmed that Kirk Acevedo, who in Season 6 recurred as Oliver Queen’s adversary, has been promoted to series regular for Season 7 (which airs on a new night, Mondays at 8/7c, starting Oct. 15).
The upgrade was first noted by Green Arrow TV.
After tormenting Oliver and his loved ones for much of Season 6, Diaz was nearly nabbed during a season-ending skirmish, but Laurel/Black Siren’s well-intended attempt to offer an assist instead (ugh) allowed the crime boss to slip away.

Throughout the course of six seasons, Arrow has played host to some pretty crazy cliffhangers. And though we could debate for hours which among them were the best, you have to admit that what we witnessed back in May has to be near the top of the list.
Long story short, Oliver Queen publicly admitted that he’s the Green Arrow after turning himself over to authorities. Granted, Smallville‘s iteration of the character also revealed his secret identity, but the ramifications that followed didn’t have the high stakes of what we’ll soon witness.
Over the past few months, both cast and crew have hinted at what’s sure to be a gritty and brutal set of episodes, but today’s arrival of a bountiful gallery perfectly illustrates just how rough Ollie’s life behind bars will be. Granted, the ones featuring a pink-haired Felicity Smoak did make their rounds last week,...

No doubt about it, Arrow has had some memorable big bads to call its own during the previous six seasons. No matter which you prefer, Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, Ra’s al Ghul, Damien Darhk, Prometheus and Ricardo Diaz each brought something unique to the table. But as we head into season 7, we find ourselves in a different situation, for “The Dragon” is still in the wind.
This time, however, Diaz has other – and, perhaps, more loyal – folks backing him up in the form of the Longbow Hunters. Having previously been name-dropped at the tail end of season 6, these formidable adversaries have been confirmed to appear in the coming year.

When Stephen Amell made his pro wrestling debut a few years back, none would’ve thought it’d lead to a real life friendship and working relationship with his first onscreen foe, that being Cody Rhodes. Stephen Amell has unveiled the first poster for Arrow‘s upcoming seventh season today. Accompanied with the perfect caption, which read, “This fall, Green Is The New Black,” it can be seen down below and features Ollie in prison and looking like he’s having a rough time of it.
As we know, season 7 will see the Emerald Archer locked behind bars at Slabside Maximum Security Prison now that he’s been outed as Star City’s resident vigilante, the Green Arrow. It’s definitely not the usual heroic photo of Amell on display on the poster, as Oliver’s instead depicted as far from his best with cuts and bruises around his sunken eyes. Meanwhile, the tagline on the one-sheet reads: “Revelation and repentance.”

Arrow season 7 is said to finally introduce one aspect of Oliver Queen’s character that fans have been waiting to see since the show began: the classic Green Arrow goatee. Stephen Amell’s promised us that he’ll be sporting the iconic facial hair in the new run and has kept fans updated over the past few months with how his attempt to try and grow the ultimate beard is progressing.
This week, for instance, he shared a shot of where his face fuzz is currently at. It seems he’s not a fan of the beard conquering his chin, either, as he captioned the image: “This situation is becoming untenable.” This echoes what the star joked about recently on Twitter, when he mocked his own beard-growing abilities. “Been trying to grow my beard to look like the iconic image of Green Arrow,” Amell wrote. “Five months in… I’m closer to Thanos.

Stephen Amell’s made the character of Oliver Queen his own over the past six seasons of Arrow, taking the billionaire vigilante from his early days as the Hood to his later years as the savior of Star City. There’s one thing that fans have been wanting to see for a while, though: for him to sport the iconic goatee beard that Green Arrow’s had in the pages of DC comics for decades.
It was met with a cheer all round back in May, then, when Amell revealed that he was working on his goatee beard for the upcoming seventh season of The CW’s hit show. Now, three months later, he’s reminded us this is on the cards with a hilarious Tweet which gives an update on his facial fuzz-growing progress. Apparently, it’s proving pretty difficult.

Doesn’t sound like Season 7 will be quite so lucky for the titular hero of The CW’s “Arrow.”
In addition to facing off against old foes, the newly imprisoned Green Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will also be forced to contend with The Longbow Hunters, described as “a legendary group of assassins recruited by Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) to enact his revenge on Oliver and the team after they took down his burgeoning criminal empire in Season 6.
The trio of new baddies include Red Dart (pictured), who’ll be played by “Whistler” alum Holly Elissa and is described as “a ruthless and precise killer”; Kodiak (Michael Jonsson of “Van Helsing”), a “beast of a man with brute force”; and Silencer (played by Miranda Edwards of “The Magicians” and “Orphan Black”), who’s “a master of stealth.”
