On Most Dangerous Game, Christoph Waltz embarked on his first American project made for the small screen, earning his first Emmy nomination for the series, which had initially sparked some skepticism on his part.
Created by Scott Elder, Josh Harmon and Nick Santora, based on a classic short story by Richard Connell, the action-thriller centers on Dodge (Liam Hemsworth), a Detroit everyman up to his eyeballs in debt, who is looking to secure the financial future of his wife and unborn child, before he succumbs to a terminal illness. After meeting a mysterious businessman named Miles (played by Waltz), Dodge finds the opportunity to just that—by agreeing to participate in a 24-hour game, in which he’ll be hunted for sport.
The enigmatic puppet master who orchestrates Dodge’s game, Miles is the latest memorable villain Waltz has taken on in his illustrious career, following roles in such films as Inglorious Basterds and Spectre.

Quibi is not just another streaming service offering a stable of original programming. It sets itself apart from all of the competition because it features mobile content designed to be consumed in “quick bites.” Developed by former studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg and executive Meg Whitman, the streamer has attracted a bounty of A-list talent to its high-quality series and specials across a number of genres including dramas, comedies, reality and variety.
See Quibi’s ‘Dishmantled’ is a must-see for everyone who loves Tituss Burgess, cooking shows and blowing ‘some s*** up’
Given the impressive talent quotient and slick production values featured on its platform, expect to see a bunch of its series and specials up for Emmy nominations this year in the relatively new expanded short form categories. One drama that might attract the most attention come Emmy time is “Most Dangerous Game,” starring Liam Hemsworth as a down-on-his-luck real...

Perhaps Disney execs felt two Snow White reboots, Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, and Mirror Mirror, starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins, were two Snow White adaptations too many. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed today that Disney halted production on their revisionist Snow White tale Order Of The Seven, previously known as Snow and the Seven. Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt, Jayson Rothwell, Michael DeBruyn, Scott Moore, Jon Lucas, Scott Elder and Michael Chabon all worked on various drafts of the script about Snow White's dwarves reinterpreted as warriors from an ancient order who help an Englishwoman battle an ancient evil in 19th century China.

When she got an Oscar nom for playing the precocious brat in Atonement, who would have guessed Saoirse Ronan would become Ireland’s answer to Chuck Norris? Ronan, who starred in Hanna, next headlines as a resistance fighter in the Andrew Niccol-directed adaptation of Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer’s The Host. Now she’ll take on yet another action role. She’ll star in Disney’s The Order of the Seven. That started out as the revisionist fairy tale Snow And The Seven. But with Mirror Mirror and Snow White And The Huntsman coming from other studios, Disney felt a kung fu Snow White was overkill. The current logline: A centuries old and once revered Order of Warriors, now a jaded group of outlaws, must reclaim their destiny after the reemergence of an ancient evil empress. Ronan will play Olivia Sinclair, a British ex-pat of 19th Century Hong...

With Universal Pictures and Relativity Media both developing live-action Snow White movies, Disney is finally moving forward with their own live-action version of Snow White called Snow White and the Seven.
The studio is currently in negotiations to hire Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt to work on the script. He was just nominated for his work on the film. Disney's been slowly developing this Snow White project since 2002 and it centers on a 19th century Englishwoman who returns to her Hong Kong home for her father's funeral, only to discover that her stepmother is plotting against her. She escapes to mainland China, finding solace among a rogue band of seven international warriors.
Francis Lawrence (Constantine) has been on board to direct the film from very early on, it's even gone through a few different writers over the years, but was originally written by Scott Elder and Josh Harmon. Natalie Portman...

Walt Disney Studios has attached Race to Witch Mountain director Andy Fickman to helm family adventure film Monster Attack Network , reports Variety . Scott Elder and Josh Harmon have been hired to adapt the Ait/Planet Lar graphic novel. The 2007 graphic novel focuses on a team of first-responders who guard the citizens of Lapuatu, a Pacific island that would be a paradise except for frequent attacks by giant monsters that rise from the sea. Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman wrote the graphic novel, illustrated by Nima Sorat. Disney views the film as a visual effects-heavy tentpole built around an elite government agency's resolve to protect America's coasts from huge, rampaging monsters.

Heck of a weekend for director Andy Fickman. First, his new movie, Race To Witch Mountain, opened at the top of the Us box office with an impressive $24.8 million haul. And second, he lined up his next movie by signing on to direct Monster Attack Network, again for Disney. The film, written by Scott Elder and Josh Harmon from a graphic novel which was published in 2007, will be an effects-heavy action comedy about a secret government organisation that protects America’s coasts from giant, marauding monsters. Andy Fickman has notched two hits for Disney by now, and the studio seems dead set on locking him down for good. After this weekend's success of Race to Witch Mountain, Fickman has been picked to direct another Disney adventure movie, Monster Attack Network. The movie will be based on the graphic novel of the same name, about first-responders who protect a Pacific island nation from frequent attacks by sea monsters. Variety reports that Scott Elder and Josh Harmon will be writing the adaptation of Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman's graphic novel. The key word in the Variety article seems to be "tentpole," which suggests that Disney is handing Fickman an even higher-profile project than the ones he's done before. We still have to wait and see if Fickman sticks with the Rock, who has been his good luck charm thus far with Witch Mountain and The Game Plan.

Francis Lawrence is off to work on "Snow and the Seven", Walt Disney Pictures' live-action East-meets-West take on the "Snow White" fairy tale. Scott Rudin and Andrew Gunn are producing.
The story, a fantasy adventure, centers on a British girl being raised in 19th century Hong Kong. When she realizes her destiny is to conquer an evil force, she must prepare to fight by being trained by seven Shaolin Monks.
The long-gestating project was originally written by Josh Harmon and Scott Elder. The current draft is by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas. The studio said the title of the project is only a working title and will change.

Yuen Woon-ping is acting as the fight choreographer on the movie, which is being executive produced by Gunn Films' Ann Marie Sanderlin along with Anthony Wong and Dede Nickerson.
Brigham Taylor and Louanne Brickhouse are overseeing for Disney.
