A bit late to the party, but I watched the episode and it was incredible. Intense, impeccably directed & a fantastic culmination of the White Walker conflict. And this is something I'll always stand behind: the cinematography in this episode is gorgeous. The natural lighting is a stroke of genius and with the exception of 2 moments in the first 30 minutes, I never had any problem with seeing what was going on. Beautiful use of orange with the fire and the way it's shot results in a claustrophobic feeling, something truly unique (maybe with the exception of Battle of the Bastards). The way Sapochnik manages to immerse the viewer in this battle while constantly switching to different characters is a great achievement. Seriously the cinematography in this episode is top 3 GoT level. I can see why it is a divisive episode, but where I leaned more towards the disappointed side after watching 'Beyond the Wall', I'm quite sure I'll remain on the extremely satisfied side for this episode. I can't wait for the rest of the season and the final battle for the throne, but this is the perfect mid-season finale I needed.
