Now that Howard Stern has re-signed with Sirius Xm, fans blissfully have five more years of insightful, raucous longform celebrity interviews to look forward to. First up: Adam Sandler, who made his first-ever "Stern" appearance this morning to promote his new (critically-lambasted) Netflix original movie "The Ridiculous 6." In a year full of surprising A-list guests like Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jada Pinkett Smith and Drew Barrymore -- none of whom fans could have envisioned setting foot in Studio 69 just a couple of years ago -- Sandler is just the latest unlikely interviewee to take a seat on the purple couch. Indeed, the "SNL" star-turned-box-office-king was repeatedly slammed by the King of All Media earlier in his career -- and in one of the sit-down's most striking moments, Sandler addressed the elephant in the room when he told Howard that, yes, the digs hurt. "When you used to slam me it would...

Last night’s episode of Fox’s Family Guy had some fun with the low-hanging fruit that The Cosby Show has become. With the Griffins and others gathered ’round the tube, they and we see a tooned-up Cos in familiar bad sweater doing his familiar bad dance — but with his female co-stars a little less lively. As if the “knowing what we now know” bit couldn’t be any purer comedy gold, add appearances from “guest stars” Bonnie Franklin and a half-dressed Bea Arthur — and even a…...

"Trainwreck" director Judd Apatow has been a relentless critic of Bill Cosby's since the rape allegations resurfaced in the media. During a promotional appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," Apatow got to simultaneously return to his stand-up comedy roots while skewering The Cos with a cruel and reasonably accurate impression (and one that also calls back to the punchline from Eddie Murphy's Cosby routine from "Eddie Murphy Raw"). Midway through their monologue as hosts of the 2015 Golden Globes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler noted that they were never going to host the show again, and were thus free to do whatever they wanted. This started out as them playing a mock game of Who Would You Rather? about men in the audience — Fey, on wanting to have sex with Richard Linklater, noted it would be "Five minutes, once a year" — but the true freedom that came with knowing they didn't have to worry about being invited back didn't manifest itself for another minute or two. While running through the plots of some of the nominated films, Poehler said, "In 'Into the Woods, Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower for her prince, and Sleeping Beauty just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby," This led to Fey — who snuck in a few...

Bill Cosby has been in the news a lot lately, though undoubtedly not in a way he would prefer. Lost in the on-going debate about his career as a legendary comedian and sitcom star and how this affects allegations of sexual assaults, is the fact that Cos at one time showed considerable skill in rare dramatic roles. One such case was a now relatively obscure 1972 detective flick he starred in for United Artists. Largely forgotten by the general public due to very limited exposure since its release, Hickey & Boggs has been released on Blu-ray by Kino Lorber. (It was initially released a few years ago on DVD by MGM's burn-to-order division.) The film's primary merit is that it reunited I Spy co-stars Bill Cosby and Robert Culp (though by this time, Cosby's fame had eclipsed Culp's, thus resulting in his receiving top billing). This summer, NBC execs were very happy to talk about the new sitcom they were developing for Bill Cosby. “We’re very committed, and that’s an important show for us,” Peacock entertainment president Jennifer Salke told reporters at NBC’s portion of the TV Critics Association summer press tour in July, announcing that former Glee star Mike O’Malley had agreed to write the new Cosby show (with another sitcom vet, Mike Sikowitz). A month later, Netflix was equally eager to kvell about Cos, saying it was “thrilled” to include a set by the comedy icon on its ambitious new slate of stand-up specials. But following a flurry of attention to decades-old allegations of sexual assault by Cosby against multiple women, as well as a brand-new accusation, NBC and Netflix have suddenly gone silent: When Vulture inquired about the status of the projects, both companies replied with a terse “no comment.

Adult Swim’s “Black Dynamite” is the latest to bash Bill Cosby The latest shot at Cosby, revolving around a “Cosby Coon Renewal Program,” has nothing to do with the rape allegations. In Friday’s episode, titled “Sweet Bill’s Badass Song or Cos Ain’t Himself,” Cosby is portrayed as a villain who kidnaps all the “blackity-black” actors in an effort to get them to “stop cooning in Black Hollywood.” The timely episode has been in the works for a year. Discovery's “Eaten Alive” could kill an anaconda Dr. Jesús A. We're continuing this periodic summer project where we revisit classic sitcom episode. Last week, we did a "NewsRadio" double feature, and today we're going to talk about one of my favorite episodes of "The Cosby Show," called "Theo's Holiday," coming up just as soon as my corporate headquarters has 49 floors but no phone... Periodically throughout the latter half of the 20th century, various TV genres would be declared dead and buried. Some of them actually stayed dead, more or less, like the Western, while others lay fallow, waiting for the right show to bring the public mood back to it. In the early '80s, the sitcom was the genre being put out to pasture, falling behind dramas of various stripes, from the lofty ambitions of "Hill Street Blues" and "St. Elsewhere" to the soapy environs of "Dallas" and "Dynasty" to the comedy/drama/action mix of "Magnum, P.I.

The show was one of many TV series that capitalized on the recent success of the James Bond films. Suddenly, TV and cinemas were playing spy-related fare virtually non-stop. NBC had some of the best elements of the spymania craze with "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", Get Smart" and "I Spy". The latter series premiered in 1965 and ran three seasons through 1968. Bill Cosby stopped by Fallon on Wednesday and the two briefly reminisced about the time Cosby filled in for Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show." But, as is always the case whenever Cos stops by "Late Night", it didn't take long for the interview to go spectacularly off the rails.
It went something like this: Jimmy makes a crack that Bill takes offense to, Bill demands money for his pains, Jimmy has to sell his stuff to some audience members from New Jersey, cut to commercial. In short, perfect.

If Donald Trump can't take a few snarky remarks from Bill Cosby, imagine how he'll be if he actually runs for president? Comments the Cos made on the Today show last Thursday to a stunned Meredith Vieira really got under the skin of the real-estate mogul turned reality star, as evidenced by his statement today accusing Cosby of being two-faced and not even in his right state of mind. So what's this spat all about? The feud started when the funnyman scoffed after Vieira asked him about Trump's presidential aspirations—particularly the Apprentice boss's embrace of the birther movement, which falsely claims President Obama wasn't born in the U.S. "Oh, please with...

Kids can say the darndest things. At least, they do when Bill Cosby is around. On the new 'Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35Pm Et on NBC), the legendary comedian was the guest -- but he wasn't even the main event! Instead, the 73-year-old actor and comic was just the "warm-up act" ... for 12-year-old Atticus Shaffer.
Shaffer, star of the sitcom 'The Middle,' is at least very respectful to his elders. Atticus joked that after learning he would be appearing with "the Cos," he suffered a mild stroke. "When I got the phone call ... I heard I was going to be on 'Jay Leno'; I picked myself up off the floor from fainting. ... Then they said that I'm going to be on after Bill Cosby -- then my heart skipped a beat."
Aw, how polite! But would this be a sufficient level of tribute for Mr.

Chris Rock almost ended his comedy career before it started by taking aim at Bill Cosby - on the beloved funnyman's own show. Pal Adam Sandler invited Rock to the set of "The Cosby Show" when he was shooting a handful of episodes in his late teens - and when the pre-program warm-up comedian fell ill, Rock stepped in to keep the studio audience amused.
Sandler admits his friend was an instant hit with both Cosby and his fans - until he turned on the star of the show. Sandler recalls, "Rock, all of a sudden, starts going, 'And what's with this Bill Cosby?' Everyone's like nervously laughing."
And everything turned bad when Rock accused Cosby of racism. Sandler adds, "He went on an anti-Bill Cosby five minute run. The crowd is all people from Queens; they just worship Cos... They're like, 'I'm gonna murder this skinny young man.
