The rating of 7.5 when I saw the movie is not consistent with those generally accepted on IMDB. I realized early on in the movie that it was inflated. It's very slow-paced and the scenes do not transition well. Acting is amateurish and the overall flow does not work well.

If you are unable to fall asleep one night, then watch this movie. It will put you out like a light.

I am so tired of fake reviews from people who worked on the movie. Really this is just awful.

Don't waste your time with this dreck. It's absolutely horrible. Even if you have an hour and a half to kill, look for something else. You've been warned!
  • Women can truly relate to the story. It is definitely not for everyone. The movie will make you think...

    Warning: Spoilers
This well-done indie features solid acting, especially from Marisa Harba, portraying a wife and mother teetering on the edge of sanity. The other two actors (Timothy Ryan Cole and Charlotte Beckett) also do a fine job. Cinematography and direction were also good. The story is told out of sequence, which kept me on my toes, trying to figure out exactly what was Harba's reality and what was not. This one will keep you guessing. The ending could have gone in a few directions, and it certainly didn't finish the way I thought it would. Overall, a pretty good psychological drama.
  • I watched Halloween Kills last night and it so so god awful it was a 1. So I'm being generous today.

I'm 20 minutes into this badly acted and boring film and I'm, well, bored. If that was the intent, then kudos to everyone.

Based on the fake 8 stars and above reviews that wasn't the intent. A lot of screen time is going to the worst "actress" ever. I'm talking, go back to waitressing bad, bad, bad acting.

You don't know what the heck is going on and you just don't care enough to find out.

Sorry guys. Next time get a better actress (and actor) to carry your film.

Trust the reviews 4 stars and below.

An excellent film, the plot turned out to be extremely interesting. The script, direction and acting were central to this film. I like the way emotions are manifested. I would definitely recommend this!

I.am a huge fan of thrillers, but it was most poorly acted by the woman, I had to force myself to finish it thinking surely it would get better. My suggestion is do not waste your time. It does not get better.

Idk why I pick these. It has no storyline, no point. 1 setting. It needs to be lit on fire and forgotten. I could have hit myself in the head with a tack hammer and been more entertained.
  • So at the beginning some moaning and groaning what was that supposed to mean? Bad start. -1 Star

Woman under sheet obviously upset guy isnt responding to her tap tap tapping on him. So what we have here so far is a woman that's horny and wants attention and a guy that isn't handling that very well.

Oh and I just noticed we have one of those two title movies? The Shattering on Amazon and Morok on IMDB. -1 Star for that

And we got her doing stuff around the house but I notice she doesn't act like she's alone, she acts like someone is there with a camera. Towel on covering everything, etc. I hate that.

Okay and the end, was just silliness after all that. -1 STar, 2/10.
  • Let me preface this by saying I hate giving bad reviews, but this needs to be said to help who are about to make the same mistake I did. Seriously, don't waste your time on this movie. All these 9 and 10 star reviews make no sense, either they're paid to write excellent reviews or are on some seriously mind-altering drugs.

The movie is extremely slow, has no plot, and doesn't flow well at all. It constantly jumps back and forth in time without notice, so most of the time it's near impossible to know when a scene is supposed to be the present or a memory of some time in the past. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Charlotte Beckett, who plays Monica, is pretty hot. That's literally the only good thing about this movie, but she only appears a handful of times. Other than her being a bit of eye candy, this movie is a complete dumpster fire.

Also, what's with the movie having one name on Amazon (The Shattering) and a completely different name (Morok) here? The only time I've seen that before is when a movie or show has been translated from another language, which isn't the case here.

The art direction and set design did not support the wealthy woman narrative at all. Film location in an open air natural light would have been more effective.

The hospital scenes were filmed in a random office building circa 1970s. They should have been scrapped.

This film is best comparable to The Room's "You are tearing me apart Lisa!!"

This emotional rollercoaster had me glued. Usually I start working as soon as Tubi plays the next movie then the next, but seriously I had to stop and watch. For me that's means it deserves my evening if it can Catch me off guard. Indy all around Well done film!!!
  • A really outstanding psychological thriller. The plot was captivating.

True independent films can be an acquired taste but The Shattering was a welcome surprise. This film was beautifully conceived and executed and, in my opinion, would be right at home playing alongside other thrillers such as Fatal Attraction. It is intelligently written and the director wisely chose to tell the story in a modest and subdued manner which gave the subtly unsettling aspects of the story room to creep in slowly. It is perfectly cast. I particularly enjoyed the lead actors playing the wife and husband. They had chemistry and hit the emotional beats of each scene perfectly. The production design, sound and cinematography hit their notes just right and I particularly enjoyed the contrast of high key cinematography and dark subject material. Highly recommend!

This was a nicely done psychological thriller. I'm a fan of mind-benders so this was right up my alley. Kudos to the indie team. It's not easy to pull one of these off without a big budget, but they did a great job. I enjoyed the lead and will keep an eye out for her. Really looking forward to what they come up with next.
  • The Shattering is a tense indie thriller and its film festival awards attest to its quality. One of the film's leads is Timothy Ryan Cole, who I actually worked with many moons ago and you may remember from several of those Geico commercials where he's playing guitar. It's great to see him doing well, and I have to say that he and the other actors do a really good job and drive this psychological film. Definitely an indie worth checking out.

The smashing is a overwork indie thriller and its celluloid commemoration presents bear witness to to its quality. Individual of the film's show the way is grass Ryan Cole, who I in reality worked with severals moons since and you hawthorn have memories from many of those Geico commercials where he's playacting guitar. It's considerables to contemplate him doing well, and I chalk up to break silence that he and the over-the-counter actors do a in reality first-class employment and operate this intellectual film. Unquestionably an indie expenditure checking out.

I would totally disagree with comments about bad acting! I find the performances very accurate and believable.
  • Amazing movie, great scenario, fantastic production, it reminds me of early Tarantino but more complex and without so much violence. A must to watch for thriller lovers.
  • The film was pretty good. The plot is more than interesting. Actors even though are not famous are performing well. I certainly recommend it. I think the director has great potentials.
  • It was a really nice film. The plot was extremely interesting. For a small budget movie I couldn't expect something more. The director did an excellent job.
  • The Shattering is a lean and competent production with strong performances from its minimal cast. This three-person story set in a single location intensifies the lead's dwindling grasp on reality. And its non-linear pace keeps you guessing as to what is really going on. Is Claire, played by Murisa Harba, really crazy or is she the victim of a conspiracy perpetrated by her philandering husband? Is she simply just suffering from postpartum depression? Is her baby real? Or even alive? Is her therapist deliberately messing with her head? The ending rushes up quite expectantly as the film takes a sharp and macabre turn. This is tight indie-film making.

I liked the movie. It kept me interested from start to beginning. Also, the actors play their roles at a high level. I liked the movie. It kept me interested from start to beginning. Also, the actors play their roles at a high level.
