  • I went into this one expecting your standard, quirky indie romance: two misfits meet each other - "Why can't the world accept us?" - "I guess we'll just stay weird." - credits roll under a song by a band you've never heard of. Instead, what I got was a creative, surreal look at a relationship between two people not looking for love but finding it despite themselves.

The Relationtrip is an independent romantic comedy that covers years' worth of relationship problems over the course of four days. What makes the film special is the way that it handles its characters and their respective problems. I don't want to give anything away, but the movie is filled with symbolic and metaphorical scenes and not in a pretentious way. Rather than the "ask me what it means!" imagery of a lot of indie content, The Relationtrip portrays visually what could clearly be said verbally, and it succeeds fantastically. Our main characters' deepest issues are laid out for us and for each other to see in a wonderfully creative way.

This one really is unique. I had the opportunity to watch it at a film festival and recommend it to anyone who is able to see it.

Cudos to the filmmakers for making an original movie and not being afraid to veer from the standard conventions. The first 20 minutes is a complete setup, and after that the movie takes a totally unique turn and in unbelievably entertaining and unique.

There is nothing real about this movie. The meeting between the two is forced and they just act silly and immature. There is no way a female would go away with a man she just met on a road trip to the desert. They are both ridiculously perky and utter total nonsense. Let's play a game, oh ok, like whatever. I liked Matt Bush in Nice Guy Johnny but not this garbage.
  • Renée Felice Smith's . She is aweful On NCIS: LA. When she is on camera she will always make funny faces on camera she will also start doing this jumping thing a lot on camera happens a lot when the whole group is on camera. Renee Felice Smith is a very very bad actor, Not even sure how she got into tv and movies but it was a mistake. I stopped watching NCIS LA only because i could not take watching her bad acting.
  • The Relationtrip is a bit of magic. It is a Matryoshka doll of a movie that manages to root itself with every surprise. AND THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF SURPRISES. It sets itself up in its opening moments as a kind of "no longer children/not yet adults" romantic comedy, (a kind of cinematic ASMR) filled with an endless stream of adorable banter between two people we would all love to be friends with. I was fairly certain I had it figured out, just long enough to leave me completely disarmed.

STICK WITH IT! When the fireworks started popping off, all of my fears, hopes and dreams of a relationship showed up on screen in imaginative leaps and bounds. I hesitate to detail any of them as I count myself incredibly lucky to have been surprised and won over.

It's a difficult movie to describe. There's very little like it. But in the end, it's very, very funny, and true...and funny.
  • I went in not expecting much. Came out the other end singing along to the final song. Great movie. Strange in some parts but everything has meaning and ties together. Suprised the IMBD rating is so low considering every user review is great. Deff worth the watch
  • This film was so fun. I loved everything from the chemistry of the two leads, to the look, to music of this movie. It's a super fast, quick-witted, gorgeous little story about two people falling in love and falling apart all within a time-span of one weekend get away. Highly recommend. The puppet was hysterical.
  • Disclosure: I wanted to see this because I am a fan of NCIS:LA. I LOVED the movie because it was clever, well written, well acted and not only made me laugh out loud but touched on several truths about how we see ourselves and others. Everyone will find something to relate to, even old ladies like me. Renee Felce Smith and Matt Bush were terrific as the not so star-crossed lovers. Eric Christian Olsen as the voice of Chippy was great and the appearance by Lnda Hunt was the cherry on top. Well done all!
  • Super bummed I almost don't watch them because of its low IMDB rating. Usually, IMDB is on point, but it's definitely not when it comes to this movie.

This movie is amazing. If you're into weird and unpredictable and you enjoy watching painfully funny and uncomfortable scene, you'll enjoy this movie.

There one liners are pretty great too.
  • I got the opportunity to watch a screening of this film last night. It was quite the enjoyable and entertaining trip. Auteur, surreal and completely relatable.

The acting was great, a wide range... sweet and funny. I also particularly liked the music.

Wish there were more films like this. Do what you can to see this!

Kudos to the filmmakers. Looking forward to what's next.

It is not your run of the mill cheesy love story! This is an awesome romantic comedy that will leave you thinking, have you laughing and you may cry a little! The songs are fun and catchy. Everyone can totally relate to this movie at some point in their lives. I know I have in the past and present. Its a must see! Amazing cast, songs and choreography, what more can you want!! Job well done!
  • This is probably the best romance comedy i have seen in years, it takes you through a lifetime of romance and the problems therein in less than 2 hours. Super Awesome!!!!

I believe that this movie really portrays the whole not wantin to grow up to time to mature like an adult with the fun whimsical sense of humor with the puppet Chippy 🤣. It's a shame tho that just like in real life guys don't realize what they have until it's gone and too late to get back it all stems from childhood psychology of this movie is on par great movie wish there were more like it....so it could maybe help with boys not wantin to grow up in their adult relationships with their women n or children 😀
