  • Everyone involved in the production of this movie should be banned from Hollywood for life!
  • Warning: Spoilers
I watched this film trying to remember if I'd seen the first two in the series. I know I saw one but it left such an impression on me that I forgot it within minutes of the end credits. If I hadn't written about this one soon after watching the odds of that happening twice would be good. Chances are within a week I'll have forgotten this one too.

If you haven't seen any of the films Brian Austin Green of BEVERLY HILLS 90120 fame stars as Callan, a futuristic hero who gains power from an ancient Celtic Cross who saves the planet from world dominating bad guys with the help of his equally heroic teammates. Having done so in the first film and then repeated the same in the second, we now have a third film.

As a group of game players gathers behind the locked doors of a comic book shop, they play a game that finds them helping Cross and his team. This makes for a strange set of circumstances as you're never quite sure if the game is a game or reality. By the end of the film it gets even more confusing as game members are pulled into the comic universe to help save the world but left with a cliffhanger ending.

This time around Cross and his team are pitted against super villains Muerte (Danny Trejo) and Drago (Manu Intiraymi). In their secret hideout Muerte plans on robbing Cross of his powers while elevating Drago with a cross of his own. So dire are the consequences that Cross must resort to asking for aid from previous villain Gunnar (Vinnie Jones).

I honestly can't write a whole lot more about this film. Made for the direct-to-disc market it stinks even for that group. The effects are some of the worst you will ever find and include things like the flashes seen from every gun that it fired in the film. How can you make a movie without a big enough budget for blanks? Explosions are the same with debris and launch pads used for the stunt people as they fly in the air surrounded by completely fake looking CGI explosions.

The acting is...well...it's...terrible. I love Danny Trejo and he can even make commercials where he does better than this. To say his part is phoned in is an understatement. The odds are he was paid great money to sit on a chair on one set looking at a laptop while laughing maniacally. That's about all his character is required to do here.

At 100 minutes this movie is 100 minutes too long. To think that it sets it up for a part 4 is just mind numbing. It makes you wonder how movies like this get made while knowing there are far better pictures in development hell.

I'm guessing they were hoping to tap into the super-hero market that is out there but this one makes those early Marvel films that people joke about look like they were Oscar contenders.

The production starts out by using cartoon drawings to introduce the characters and the back story. This takes 5 minutes. It is followed by a 5-minute shoot out that gets boring after 1 minute. Later fighting uses amulets and the rules that govern them appear to be made up as they go along. In spite of having a "B" film star-studded cast of action figures, the acting and script were amateur. It was painful to watch. And BTW plutonium is not kept at "secret" government buildings in downtown LA. You could not be able to or want to load enough plutonium to make a bomb in one room. In that regard, Patrick Durham is an idiot.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
  • Well, I never knew that there was a school where you learn how not to act, this film is full of those actors that graduated from said school. Kudos to Patrick Durham for giving it a crack, that is where they stop. Personally, I think that he needs to go back and learn what it means to direct. Maybe Durham should have watched a few episodes of Charmed to help. I do not like to be too negative, but when people put their faith in the writer and director of a movie, I am sure they want something to work with and have a director that does not encourage wooden performances. You get two stars, 1 for the background workers and the other for giving it a crack.
  • Bad Action check! Horrible actors check! Incredibly lame action scenes TRIPLE Check! Bad special effects check! Old has been actors oh yeah! People shooting at each other close range and missing except for so called good guys hilariously yes! Definitely these actors are so hard up for cash to make a fake movie like this!
  • Warning: Spoilers
When all bad actor in hollywood unite in one film.
  • I watched the movie after seeing the trailer, unsure if the movie was real. What a joke. This is the worst movie I've seen in a very long time. This Hollywood-ized version of a comic book is just a soulless money-grab.

From a filmmaking perspective, its awful. The writing, directing, stunts, special effects, and the acting are all TERRIBLE! Every action scene seems to drag on forever and are VERY boring. Completely humorless, dialogue uninteresting, and distracting plot holes.

I'm only giving this movie a 1 star because I can't give it ZERO STARS... Please save yourself the trouble by not wasting money on this movie and if you can watch it for free, just stab your eyes with a fork. Sony and the film makers should be embarrassed to have their name attached to this groan-inducing train wreck of a movie.

Literally everything about it is lazy, incompetent, and bad. No thought was spent on how anything would be filmed while they were making the movie. The story makes no sense at all. The characters are all one dimensional and dialogue is poorly written.

No chemistry between the actors and there's a disconnected feel to the film. Some of the more well known actors were clearly filmed during separate days then edited in.

Cross 3 is a total lack of talent. One of the worst films I've seen in a long time. It's like a joke. Even by low budget movie standards, this is a terrible movie.
  • I tried to watch but my life is to short to spend time on garbage.
  • Seriously guys? Bad animation, terrible acting And horribel camera filming! Looks like the camera man is 90 years old And shaky!

Staying true to its comic book origins, the third installment of the Cross series is so fun! A few changes to the group have occured but we see increased scenes with Blackfire and War and they're so funny together. Ending with a hint for another Cross film, I'm curious to see what the Cross Team will be up against next.

Do yourself a favour and do not watch. Is it possible to rate 0 stars?
  • While this is very much like a comic book, it's not very good.

The acting is lifeless. The deliveery of characters are very flat and monotone.

Editing is very choppy and whomever is handling the cameras has never heard of stabilizers or tripods or stands or even flat surfaces to sit a camera and make it function. Camera work is as if it was filmed while on a roller coaster ride. Shaking and a mess of all over.

Characters do little and the plot is almost non-existant.

Action sequences are lame. By now, the cast should know how to deliver lines and action...as most of the actors have been in enough shows to do it right.

It has so much potential - considering that this is the 3rd in a 4 part series, but falls so short.

Far too many characters to count, characters that stand around and are next to useless and with what little story there is, are just wasted like in the last 2 films.

I don't see much other change for the upcoming 4th movie - because the first 2 were of the same quality and they had more than 5 years to work on improving their production.

Much of the same crew and cast are on these film, and if the read the reviews here, they should realize what the problems are and how to fix it.

They all worked with enough fil people to solve the problems, it just seems like they don't care to.

Unless you are a fan of a particular actor or somebody in the cast of these films - they aren;t that enticing to watch and with the amount of other movies being made and put out for distribution on a weekly basis, this is easily passed and most likely gonna be turned off shortly after it's turned on.

Lots of potential from the first film to this one is just wasted on the same problems that I wrote - and others wrote.

Maybe somebody will finally utilize the complaints and fix the problems before they make their next film or disaster.
  • First time in my life I have ever observed someone using a AIMS sports optic! Thus was the worst movie I have ever watched!
  • Warning: Spoilers
This film start with the introduction of the amulets, the superheroes and the supervillains scene! As turnout, this film is about a bunch of superheroes lead by "Callan" need to save L.A. from the threat of a plutonium bomb armed by two supervillains(Muerte and Drago)! The action in the film quite intense, funny and bloody violence! Bloody violence scene, such as, the superheroes shooting at the villains' head and body scene! Funny action scene, such as, Blackfire throwing grenade at the supervillains scene, and a bunch of female warriors lead by Sloane take down the supervillains by kicking their private part with martial art style! The superheroes can use their power to explode the enemy also quite mind-blowing! Every screen times with Blackfire in it also significantly laughable! Such as, when disarm a bomb, he take out the burger inside his pocket and eat it! At the end, Drago kill Callan's girlfriend(Sloane)! Callan gather his old crew and his enemy "Gunnar" to kill Drago! Callan eventually kill Drago by the power of himself and enhance by the Guardians! He also kill Gunnar! Muerte plotting his next sinister plan! Lucia and War rendezvous with the Guardians! Still have the scene of the next chapter's story after the ending! That's it! A quite entertaining action movie!
  • Cross was horrible and Cross Rise of the Villains is as bad if not worse. An absolutely horrid script performed with horrible acting highlights this mivie. This is a franchise that should have never had a single movie. Another title when seen that should be a hard pass.
  • So much fun watching and some surprises, too! New characters. You thought Muete was bad! Gottah love Miss Piggy! Loved scenes with Blackfire and War. Wanted to see more Cross Girl team. :) Can't wait for next installment.
  • It must be nice to get a free case of beer and stay seated the whole time when making a movie. The casting call must've been, 'If your outta work and are recently diagnosed with Asperger's...we want you!" I'm not sure any amount covers your eternal shame. A prequel to Money Plane!!!

I can assure you I am a very generous rater of movies. I start at neutral 5/10 and go from there. Most get a +1 at least (6/10). Those that go negative (4 or below) are VERY rare. This movie goes bad very fast and very furious. It is one thing to witness people who cannot act. This is something else entirely, as if these people are channeling all of what non-existent acting they have into actively being bad. That is, they're putting actively effort in to be this awful.

I won't waste any more time with this, but steer far and clear away from this. Vinnie Jones and Eric Roberts are likely the only two coming out of this with anything resembling something of an effort, so I guess 2/10 for them alone (all 2 minutes of their time)
