Image
Well, it seems like fans aren’t the only ones who are hating the live-action remakes of Disney. Lucasfilm, which is the creator of the Star Wars franchise (and currently owned by Disney), also seems to have a problem with the entertainment giant!

Andor has been gaining worldwide fame and critical acclaim for being one of the finest Star Wars projects that the world has ever seen. Tony Gilroy, who is the creator of this iconic show, has a beef to take on with Halle Bailey’s The Little Mermaid, and it does make a lot of sense.

Tony Gilroy has a problem with The Little Mermaid

There have been several remakes and retellings of the same story again and again, as every 5 to 10 years, The Little Mermaid receives a remake. It was in 2023 when Disney released a live-action remake of the movie starring Halle Bailey in the lead role.

Kevin O’Leary Lost Millions of Dollars After Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner Exposed His Scam Offer to Land a $500,000 Deal
Image
No offense, but Kevin O’Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, can be a bit shady when it comes to closing deals on Shark Tank. Sure, he has offered some great deals and helped companies secure millions in revenue, but his offers always come with a greater advantage to himself. One of his similar offers for a promising business on the show was exposed when Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner decided to step in.

Jared Cannon came to Shark Tank to secure an investor for his company, Simply Good Jars, which offered tasty, fresh salads in a container. It was a healthy meal option that could be eaten right out of the jar. Cannon, a Philly-based chef, was also a graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business.

Writer/Director Christopher Folkens’ debut feature film “Catalyst”, is a gritty, contained thriller that explores the dark storylines that headline modern life. ‘Catalyst’ is a psychological thriller set to premiere across all major Tvod platforms on Tuesday February 11th. The grounded sci-fi thriller film revolves around seven strangers who wake up surrounded by an electrical force field, with collars around their necks. With no escape in sight and their captors standing guard they must unfold their darkest truths to gain their freedom and save their lives before time runs out.

The film was shot in a stunningly unique manner. Principal photography began in June of 2017 where over seven hours of footage was shot on three cameras with 100% improvised dialogue. Those sequences were expertly cut together by director Christopher Folkens which created the skeleton of what would become the feature length script, (written by Folkens with story credits to producers David Bianchi...

Star Wars: All Of The Major Villains, Ranked By Power
Image
Darth Vader ranks second only to Emperor Palpatine in terms of power, with legendary Force feats and combat skills. Count Dooku's cunning and strategic mind makes him a formidable Sith leader during the Clone Wars, adept in all Force powers. Jabba The Hutt's centuries-long reign as a powerful crime lord instilled fear and awe in the Star Wars galaxy, holding unlimited resources.

Star Wars is renowned for its villains, many of whom number among the most exciting characters in film and TV history. When George Lucas created the Star Wars franchise, he established a galaxy where the shadow of terrifying villains like Darth Vader and Palpatine loomed large. Since then, Star Wars has only continued to expand its repertoire of iconic villains.

It's always fascinating to consider how villains rank in power. There are different types of power, of course; some beings have political or military power, while others have raw physical prowess.

Saw Gerrera's rebel history was retconned in The Bad Batch, leading to confusion but also new lore. A new Star Wars book will explore the early days of the Empire, including Saw Gerrera's backstory. The Mask of Fear novel will explain Saw Gerrera's retcons, paving the way for his future path.

Saw Gerrera's earliest rebel history was retconned in Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 1, and three years later, Star Wars is now taking the steps to clarify this famous fighter's backstory. Throughout its three seasons, The Bad Batch has been able to connect to other parts of Star Wars canon and establish new lore, though it has also retconned quite a few things. One of the biggest retcons The Bad Batch ever introduced was Saw Gerrera's backstory, which used to look very different from the way it does now in The Bad Batch season 1.

Previously established in James Luceno's Catalyst novel,...

The Acolyte Secretly Made One Subtle Lightsaber Change That Has Massive Implications
Image
Younger Jedi in The Acolyte may have used standardized lightsabers, switching to a template for Padawan sabers. The subtle change suggests a different approach during the High Republic Era, impacting Jedi rituals. The Jedi's personalized lightsabers and kyber crystal bonding may have been part of their Trial process.

The Acolyte has secretly made one subtle lightsaber change that has massive implications. A lightsaber is far more than just a weapon; each blade contains a kyber crystal within it, a living crystal that resonates in the Force. As seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, during the prequel era the Jedi took younglings to the planet Ilum to find their kyber crystal so they could bond with it. The bonding is a crucial moment, because - as described in James Luceno's novel Catalyst - the kyber becomes "a lens that focuses the light inside the Jedi."

Surprisingly, though, one subtle...

45-Year-Old Star Wars Legends Alien Makes Its Live-Action Canon Debut At Last
Image
The Tynnans, a 45-year-old alien race from Star Wars Legends, are making their live-action debut in The Acolyte episode 4. The Tynnans, resembling beavers or otters, have been repurposed for their tracking skills in the Star Wars universe. The cuteness factor was doubled down on in the design of Bazil, a Tynnan tracker, to make him identifiable and friendly to fans.

A 45-year-old alien race from Star Wars Legends, the Tynnans, will make their live-action debut in The Acolyte episode 4. The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland has been a Star Wars for decades. "My relationship with Star Wars probably runs the span of most of my life," she observed in one interview. Given that's the case, it's no surprise The Acolyte draws upon a lot of wider Star Wars lore - including concepts and ideas from the old Expanded Universe.

Tarkin's role in the Death Star project is expanded in The Bad Batch, now linked to Project Stardust's funding. Grand Moff Tarkin's involvement in the Death Star now goes beyond mere structural supervision. The Bad Batch subtly retcons Tarkin's role in the Death Star project, revealing his greater part in its overall creation long before Rogue One.

Star Wars has subtly retconned the origins of the Death Star eight years after Rogue One. Genshin Impact’s Weapon Types Ranked Worst To Best
Image
The weapons of Genshin Impact may not be as impactful as the seven core elements, but they are still an essential part of combat with their own ranking. Currently, five weapon types are usable in the game, each with its unique fighting style that sees slight alterations depending on the character wielding them. A perfect example of this is the Bow users Ganyu and Yoimiya. Ganyu does her best damage by charging her attacks, while Yoimiya wants to fire rapidly. Minor differences like these keep the weapons feeling fresh, which has been crucial with the lack of new weapon type additions.

The hardest part of judging Genshin Impact's weapons is that they often rely on the characters using them, so the most potent weapons at any given moment are those that belong to whatever character is strongest at that time. Characters like Hu Tao, Raiden, and Zhongli dominating the...

James Earl Jones, Forest Whitaker, Wen Jiang, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Daniel Naprous, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Spencer Wilding, and Riz Ahmed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
This Star Wars: Andor article contains spoilers.

Star Wars: Andor opens up a whole new corner of the galaxy far, far away, one where workers clock in to their jobs at the scrapyard and corporate bureaucracy rules entire sectors of space. It’s here where Cassian is poised to introduce a bit of chaos, as he goes from common crook to the Rebel secret agent we’ve already met in Rogue One. While the first three episodes of the show focus on who Cassian was before there even was a Rebel Alliance to join, they also introduce plenty of other characters, planets, and factions who play a role in the Galactic Civil War to come.

As you might expect, like all other Star Wars shows on Disney+, Andor is full of easter eggs and callbacks to other parts of the universe. Here’s what we’ve found so far…
