Nearly two years have passed since Netflix debuted a new season of Black Mirror, even if it feels like much longer. The streamer has finally unveiled a trailer and new images for the upcoming seventh season, along with announcing an April 10, 2025 premiere date.

“You can expect a mix of genres and styles,” stated series creator Charlie Brooker during the 2024 Geeked Week festival. “We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”

Among them is the much-anticipated sequel to one of Black Mirror‘s most popular, critically acclaimed episodes, season four’s “USS Callister.” The sequel marks the first time Brooker has ever revisited any of the previous six seasons’ episodes.

This new season will contain a previously announced followup to the Emmy-winning “USS Callister” starring Cristin Milioti. Fittingly, the trailer for this new season starts with Milioti’s Lieutenant Cole gasping as an unseen voice says “We’d like to welcome you back.”

The trailer then cycles between clips of wild scenarios that are never fully explained. One minute, a man is putting on a Batman mask. The next, Issa Rae is being transported into a black-and-white world filled with AI people. Still the next, Rashida Jones collapses like a powered off robot while pitching cereal in front of a class of children. You know, classic “Black Mirror” stuff.

In an interview with Collider, Paul expresses his hope for Westwold's return. While trying not to spoil too much, the actor reveals that he's still "holding onto the idea" that the series will receive a proper ending. Black Mirror is heading back to its roots for its seventh season, which is now expected to land on our screens in April 2025 with a reveal planned for Series Mania 2025. For the first time, the show is also getting a sequel episode for its beloved USS Callister episode. In the upcoming film Audrey’s Children, actor Natalie Dormer plays Dr. Audrey Evans, a pediatric oncologist whose work shaped modern treatments for children with cancer. Set for theatrical release on March 28, the film follows Evans’ arrival at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 1969 as the first female Chief of Oncology.

Dormer’s performance highlights Evans’ efforts to challenge medical bureaucracy and workplace discrimination while introducing new approaches to treating young cancer patients.

Directed by Ami Canaan Mann, the film focuses on Evans’ development of the first Neuroblastoma Staging System, which allowed doctors to classify and treat patients based on disease progression.

“The X-Files” executive producer and writer Frank Spotnitz and his London-based Big Light Productions have boarded event Swedish sci-fi “We Come in Peace” as a co-producer, Variety has learned in exclusivity on the eve of London TV Screenings. Spotnitz serves as writing supervisor as well as executive producer, alongside Big Light’s Adrian Banyard.

Exclusive: Michael Vlamis and Iddo Goldberg (Snowpiercer) have joined Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, sources tell Deadline.

Character details are under wraps, as nearly all parts have been kept so far. Matt Damon leads the ensemble as Odysseus, King of Ithaca, whose perilous journey home after the Trojan War is at the center of the story.

An epic poem from Homer, the original literary classic explored themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning and the struggle against divine will, featuring stories like Odysseus’ encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in a reunion with his wife Penelope.

Others in the sprawling cast of Nolan’s film include Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales and Maurice Compte.

Biff Wiff, the beloved character actor best known for his roles in I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once, has died after his battle with cancer, his talent management company announced online.

“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved client and actor, Biff Wiff,” Entertainment Lab wrote on Instagram. “Biff was an amazing person inside and out, and his loving energy could be felt by all. We are sending our heartfelt sympathies to his family & loved ones at this time. @biffwiff“

While Wiff’s age was not readily available, he was in his 60’s.

Based on a screenplay by Rick Cisario, the fun-sounding film follows comical opposites and recent widowers, Ira (Winkler) and Jimmy (Cox), who are forced to become friends by their conspiring daughters (Roberts & Wood). Their initial stubbornness gives way to a journey of unexpected friendship, proving that family has a way of bringing even the most unlikely people together.

Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi is set to star in “Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!,” the third feature film from writer-director Josef Kubota Wladyka. Alberto Guerra, Alejandro Edda, You and Yoh Yoshida round out the international cast of the project, which is filming in Japan.

Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but the film is described as a fantasy dance drama set in the vibrant city of Tokyo.

Nicholas Huynh co-wrote the script with Wladyka, who is also producing alongside Kimberly Parker Zox and Mao Nagakura. James Hausler and Kenji Ito are executive producing, and Thefool, Inc. is providing production services in Japan.

One of the oddest movie marketing campaigns of all time rolls on with another unconventional announcement from Sony’s upcoming Anaconda, a project that’s all around hard to get a clear handle on. Arriving in theaters December 25, 2025, the franchise reboot is clearly taking a more comedic approach to the material, with Jack Black and Paul Rudd starring.

This latest video features Jack Black performing a Tenacious D-style song to officially announce the main cast of Anaconda, which also includes Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”), Steve Zahn (“Silo,” Joy Ride), Brazilian actor Selton Mello, and Daniela Melchior.

HBO’s Westworld had a record viewership in its debut season before plummeting into a complete disaster over the last two seasons. Written and directed by Drew Hancock, this deliciously dark horror is produced by the team behind Barbarian, which should tell you something about the number of twists to expect. In fact, on that note, if you have somehow made it this far without actually knowing what Companion is about, then you should definitely stop reading now and go in as cold as you can, for maximum enjoyment.

Still here? Okay then, but be warned that the main twist occurs around 24 minutes into the movie and is essentially the basis of the plot from that point on. It’s clear that the filmmakers intended that reveal to be a surprise to the audience, but clearly the marketing department had other ideas, much like the publicity for Terminator 2: Judgement Day completely...

Exclusive: Aurora Perrineau (Prodigal Son) has been tapped for an undisclosed role in Angels in the Asylum, an upcoming indie drama marking the feature debut of writer-director Rob Sorrenti.
