  • I came here to see how many seasons were available and was disappointed to find the two I recently streamed are it. I enjoyed the series. Great characters. Even though the story lines are serious - police officers have to deal with the worst of humanity - but the writers included humor where possible. I seriously enjoyed the series and will miss the characters.

A somewhat entertaining show. However, it has a very unsatisfying ending. Feel they should have at least let it have one more season to truly wrap it all up.

I love a police drama, so when I saw this I decided to give it a watch. It's not a heavy police drama. Season one started good, but then it became a bit on the soapy side.

I recall watching this when it was first broadcast.

This is the sort of thing I like but it was not very good.

The whole police are understaffed due to post 9/11 concerns seems unrealistic.

Reasonable actors wasted on poor scripts.

The worst of The Bill was better than this.

I only lasted a whole 2 episodes. And even those took multiple days to watch.

The police procedure part of the story (given this is a cop show) is light, with a pretty dull story line, and very little police work actually being done. The men, as someone else has mentioned are totally one dimensional neanderthals, who lie, cheat and lie again through every interaction.

I'm all for base line sexual humour, when done in the right way, but the way it's done here, by most of the male staff, just make them look like pigs (ooh, pun), whilst the female police look like tolerant angels.

None of the antics would have been tolerated in a workplace back in 2007, especially from the female staff. Adding to the misery is the poor writing to create drama and tension, which just wouldn't happen in real life.

All in all, it makes for a rather poor cop drama, that's heavy on the forced drama and light on the cop. Thankfully it only lasted 2 seasons.

Found this on Amazon Prime. The first season was fine, not great, not wonderful but fine. I really loved the young front desk for booking in and complaints character - best of the series. Characters failed to develop beyond 1 dimension with flaw were laughable which I think contributed to people not watching after season one.

In series two serious breaches of protocol were written in which discouraged the increase of story development. A female cop has her partner shot while he's saving her life, and she goes back out on duty day after. Just not right, but they write in how she falls apart. A good writer knows police protocol, even human protocols. Watch if bored but try only series one.

But I don't think it was supposed to by humerous. All the men are single dimension work focused neanderthals while the women are all deeply sensitive and frustrated with the men but still keep wanting to be involved with them. The crime story is light and forms a quaint backdrop for the battle of the sexes.

    Amusing but not great.
  • The initial episodes were promising, but the second season is worse than daytime soap. MacAninch and Zoe Lucker characters have been reduced to banal soap opera. Pathetic. The lesser characters such as James Hiller's are the only saving grace of this seies.

    1/10
    Awful
If this is authentic police officer behaviour (and it sadly might be) and police work, god help the honest British public. 'Neighbours' standard acting, bad script, weak story lines, unconvincing stereotypical characters. And the usual predictable matrimonial side issues. Makes The (later) Bill look good (and is that saying something). Managed 3 episodes then started writing this. I know some characters have to be annoying but most of them? Line of Duty, anything with Nicola Walker in it-just great. But this is jno more than soap, devoid of substance, clumsily trying to be exciting and compelling and failing miserably. There must be a reason most of the actors are almost unknown, just people saying their lines. Do yourselves a favour, leave it alone.
