The Glastonbury Festival is one of England’s biggest music events, spanning over 5 days and welcoming thousands of fans. Because of its size, and audience, Dolly Parton was “scared to death” to headline the festival. Here’s why she now considers it one of her favorite concerts to date.

Dolly Parton has something a little different planned for the near future in terms of album releases.
The country legend chats to Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman about recently being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with her being asked whether it’s sunk in that she’s a rock star now.
Parton replies, “No, but it’s soaking in a little more. Timing is everything.
“My husband [Carl Thomas Dean] had always told me I should do a rock album because he is a huge heavy metal rock and roller. So I thought, ‘Well, maybe I will someday,'” she adds.
“They wanted to induct me into the Hall of Fame and I didn’t think I deserved it. Then when they put me in anyway I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to not waste this time.’

Dolly Parton is remembering her close friend (and fellow Capricorn) Naomi Judd two days after her shocking death. National treasure Dolly Parton (I can almost feel you grinning when you read her name) is precious, and I demand that any time her name is trending on social media, we all get up and sing "Jolene" to praise her. There must also be a note letting us know the state of her health. Even I, a devoted metalhead, love her and all her music, as any right thinking person should. It appears that we may be getting a Dolly Parton biopic and this is cause for celebration.

Leave it to Dolly Parton not to be limited by the conventionally accepted constraints of SXSW. In her first-ever appearance at the festival, she didn’t just play a show, she created her own universe — specifically, the “Dollyverse,” a cheerfully branded excursion into the digital Wild West of the metaverse.
Coming complete with complementary NFTs linking either to a commemorative poster or a copy of Parton’s new album, the Dollyverse was only one element of Parton’s multi-media SXSW blitz. She was also here with James Patterson, the crime...

Hargus “Pig” Robbins, a member of Nashville’s A-team of session players who added keyboards and piano to albums by Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan, Kenny Rogers, Miranda Lambert, Ween, and many more, died Sunday. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, who inducted Robbins into the Hall in 2012, confirmed his death. He was 84.
Robbins’ playing was all about the feel. Listen to the bluesy piano he dropped into Dylan’s “Pledging My Time” in 1966, the defining but never heavy-handed intro he played on Crystal Gayle’s 1977 “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,...

Victoria Konefal returns to the Best Young Performer race this year at the Daytime Emmys for her role as Ciara Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” This race is ostensibly tougher because it’s the first time she has competed since the male and female categories were merged last year, but she’s on top of our racetrack odds based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users.
Ciara has been played by a few different actresses since she was born to supercouple parents Bo and Hope Brady (Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso) in 2007. After a few recasts, the character was aged to young adulthood by Konefal in 2017. She earned a Best Younger Actress bid in 2019 alongside her on-screen niece Olivia Rose Keegan, but they both lost to Hayley Erin (“General Hospital”). The next year Keegan was nominated again for the first merged Best Young Performer prize, and she won.

Dolly Parton is undeniably one of the most successful and influential musicians of all time.
Her fifty plus year music career has included dozens of hit singles — including Jolene, and I Will Always Love You — and speaks for itself. That she’s also found time for philanthropic work, including donating $1 million to Covid-19 vaccine research and founding an organization to send free books to young children, only adds to her legacy.
If you count yourself as one of her fans, Amazon has recently launched a storefront with official Dolly Parton merch.

Dolly Parton brought Stephen Colbert to tears with an impromptu performance of a song her mother used to sing during an interview on The Late Show Tuesday, October 20th.
Parton was talking about how her mother fostered her love of music by singing old folk tunes, many of which were sad, or as Parton put it, “plum pitiful.” One of those was “Bury Me Beneath the Willow” (a famous version of which was recorded by the Carter Family), a tune about a woman who’s left at the alter and decides to kill herself.

The last time legendary entertainer Dolly Parton had a project for television, she and her team were nominated at the Emmys for Best TV Movie. That bid in 2017 was for “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love,” a story based on her early life in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
She has now returned to television with “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” an eight-part anthology series based on stories from her songs, including “These Old Bones,” which is entered this summer on the Emmy ballot in the TV movie category. In our recent webchat (watch the exclusive video above), she reveals, “When we got Kathleen Turner, we were so lucky to get her. She did an incredible job of playing the character of Old Bones. It’s really about this old lady in the mountains, a clairvoyant that knew everything that was going on… People would come for advice and information.

Now we're talking! Forget the Golden Globe Awards and its category randomness. ("The Martian" is a musical or comedy? Ok then.) The 21st annual Critics' Choice Awards nominations were just revealed -- including both TV and film categories -- and they added a lot of new players to the game. Some welcome players, too. Finally, “Coat” was NBC’s most-watched scripted telecast since the “SNL 40” special on Feb. 15, which hauled in 23.1 million total viewers. All that said, CBS managed to top NBC across primetime in the key 18-49...
