In a dramatic video published by by British newspaper The Sun late Sunday, a woman with an American accent - who loudly identifies herself to neighbors as Lohan and gives her address - can be seen getting into an argument with a man. The video appears to be shot from someone in a neighboring building and The Sun identifies the woman as Lohan, but People could not verify that authenticity of the video. She’s no stranger to drama, and it sounds like things have taken a turn for the worse for Lindsay Lohan.
The 30-year-old “Mean Girls” actress and her 23-year-old fiancé Egor Tarabasov got into a physical altercation on Saturday morning, prompting Lohan to wake her entire Knightsbridge, London neighborhood by screaming from her balcony.
LiLo shouted, “Please, please, please. He just strangled me. He almost killed me. Everybody will know. Get out of my house. Do it. I dare you again. You're f**king crazy. You sick f**k. You need help. it's my house, get out!”
And according to the police report, “Police were called to an address in Knightsbridge, SW7 on Saturday, 23 July at 05:10 hours following a report of a woman in distress. Officers attended and following concerns for the welfare of the occupants inside they forced entry into the address. There was no one inside but...

With ether Summer season fast nearing it’s end, talk will soon turn to what movies will be entering Next year’s Oscar race, and one movie that should definitely enter that conversation is Jeff Nicols’ (Take Shelter, Midnight Special) Loving, the true life tale of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who married in June 1958 only to be arrested, thrown in jail, and exiled from the state. thus began a nine year battle for their marriage and the right to live as a family. Starring Joel Edgerton and Ireland’s own Ruth Negga (currently tearing it up on the small screen as Tulip O’Hare on Preacher) as Richard and Mildred, the first trailer has come your way, and I dare you not to be moved by this powerful story. Like a playful game of fetch, The Secret Life Of Pets finds mindless entertainment in repetitive predictability. You won’t get Pixar levels of emotional heft or glistening, hyper-realistic animation, only an Add-paced appreciation of child-pleasing, slapstick animated comedy.
Stacked against The Jungle Book‘s visual artistry and Finding Dory’s heartfelt nature, The Secret Life Of Pets opts for expected (yet always hilarious) rabbit poop jokes – not every student graduates with top honors, you know. Writers Ken Daurio, Brian Lynch, and Cinco Paul draw up a sweet owner/companion dynamic between characters, and even though scripted depth stops at “loyal companionship,” there’s still a pleasantly goofy amount of laughs worth sharing with cackling adolescent audiences. Adorable, easy laughs…but laughs nonetheless.

Not many critics domestically have gotten the chance to see the upcoming action-packed flick, “Independence Day: Resurgence,” due to limited press screenings. While that necessarily doesn’t mean that the sequel to the 1996 film is a bust, it does bring some intrigue to what those who have actually seen it think. Directed by Roland Emmerich, two decades after the first invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. Overall, the reviews are mixed for the Jeff Goldblum and Liam Hemsworth starring movie. Here is what they had to say:
Variety’s Guy Lodge praises the helmer for his work but still thinks the overall movie lacked substance” “Sketchily conceived in all departments but its sensational, more-is-more visual effects — which is, let’s be honest, where its efforts should be concentrated — this belated, cluttered sequel to the 1996 smash “Independence Day” breaks far less ground than its alien invaders, but confirms...

No one got arrested after skydiving into a tomato truck, but Fuller House‘s season finale wedding — which began as a vow-renewal ceremony for Jesse and Becky — was still full of surprises.

For starters, Kimmy and Fernando strong-armed the Katsopoli into making it a double wedding, following through with their promise to remarry after their quickie divorce. I use “big day” loosely, though, considering none of Jesse and Becky’s friends or family members — not even Nicky or Alex, with whom they live — returned for the sparsely attended service.

In 2011 when Slash spoke to Entertainment Weekly about why he wouldn't allow Glee to cover Guns N' Roses' catalog, he said something that has stuck with me: "Glee is worse than Grease and Grease is bad enough." At that point Grease was almost 35 years old. It enjoyed a renaissance with a theatrical re-release in the late '90s, but it's not like Grease was begging to be invoked in Slash's takedown of Ryan Murphy's Fox show. Certainly it's a movie about peppy high schoolers who break into song, but how could a few tunes about summer lovin' and greased lightning have haunted Slash so? Grease Live!, a live Fox musical version of that John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John classic, is coming to charm off our bobby socks this Sunday. Aaron Tveit and Julianne Hough take over for Travolta and Newton-John in the lead roles while Carly Rae Jepsen plays...

When I was at the Toronto Film Festival this year, I went to have drinks with one of the filmmakers before the midnight premiere of his film, and while I was there, I had a long conversation with Colin Geddes about The Chickening. Colin, for those of you who don't know his name, is the programmer of Midnight Madness at the festival, and one of my favorite people walking the planet. His excitement about The Chickening was positively infectious, and once I'd laid eyes on the film, I understood that excitement. It's since played at Fantastic Fest and then again here at Sundance, and now the filmmakers have released this big fat slice of insanity online for all of you to enjoy as well. In some ways, this feels like the endgame of remix culture, a short film that is built onto the bones of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.

The creative leaps forward we've been seeing in the past decade have been staggering with our prominent cinematographers constantly developing new ways to experiment with visual storytelling and reinventing old tricks. Each year we also get exciting new voices added to the fray, but the Academy's cinematography branch has been reticent to include such future legends as Bradford Young and Greg Fraser.
This year is no different, with the heavyweight directors of photography set to dominate the category once again. Previous winners and perenial nominees Emmanuel Lubezki (The Revenant), Robert Richardson (the 70Mm UltraPanivision The Hateful Eight), Janusz Kaminski (Bridge of Spies) and John Seale (Mad Max: Fury Road) are all possible candidates, with the still Oscar-less Roger Deakins (pictured above, Sicario) is always a threat. Our likeliest first-time nominee Edward Lachman for Carol is an example of how hard it can be to break through while delivering brilliant work.

On March 24th, 1975, struggling actor Sylvester Stallone spent his last few dollars to see boxing champ Muhammad Ali fight Chuck Wepner. Thought to be an easy win, Ali surprisingly met his match: a career brawler who was having the fight of his life. Fifteen rounds and an Ali knockdown later, Wepner lost. But the scrappy no name fighter inspired Stallone, who emerged from a twenty-hour writing binge with a screenplay and an underdog character named Rocky Balboa.
The script quickly became a hot property in Hollywood, and several attempts were made to purchase it for stars like Burt Reynolds and Ryan O’Neal. But Stallone refused, knowing full well that no one could play the part like he could. Stallone eventually got his wish at United Artists, and under director John G. Avildsen, the rest became movie history. Released in 1976, Rocky was a global sensation, winning a Best Picture Oscar...

Justice League Unlimited was recently collected into a single Blu-Ray disc and, while I happen to own its on DVD – as well as literally everything else Bruce Timm and his menagerie created – it still stirred up a sense of unbreakable joy and nostalgia in me.
I use the term nostalgia in spite of the show itself being broadcast during my early to mid-twenties, mind you. I use it because we all know that nostalgia indicates that sentimental longing for a better time. And while we’re living in a veritable gilded age in terms of comics-to-tv live action adaptations, the animated realm is devoid of any direct counterpart to serious pulp storytelling. Sure Teen Titans Go! is on, and a handful of Marvel properties as well. But none of them hold a candle to Justice League. The absolute best episode of Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes – now over five years old...

Special Mention: Misery
Directed by Rob Reiner
Screenplay by William Goldman
1990, USA
Genre: Thriller
Elevated by standout performances from James Caan and Kathy Bates, Misery remains one of the best Stephen King adaptations to date. Director Rob Reiner is clearly more interested in the dark humour and humanity than the gory detail in King’s novel, but make no mistake about it, Misery is a tough watch soaked in sharp dialogue, a brooding atmosphere, and disturbing bodily harm inflicted on James Caan by sweet old Kathy Bates. I can still feel his pain.
129. Black Sabbath (Three Faces of Fear)
Mario Bava and Salvatore Billitteri
Written by Ennio De Concini and Mario Serandrei
Italy 1960 / Italy 1963
Genre: Horror Anthology

Is this your first year attending Fantastic Fest? Are you lost in a sea of options? Do you have no clue where to turn because all your friends and family are watching the latest Kardashian escapade instead of attending the most epic film festival in existence?
Don’t worry you’re safe here. For your ultimate guidebook, I’ve polled a seasoned group of experts known as The Fantastic Fest Fiends. Below are the top five things you need to know for Fantastic Fest.
#5 – Tip the Alamo staff and be nice to volunteers.
I hear if you even sniffle a rude comment to a member of the staff, Krampus will take a break from promoting his new self-titled, holiday film to come eat your soul.
But seriously, these people are working ridiculously long shifts, and slaving away to pull off an amazing festival that goes practically around the clock for two weeks straight.

I dare you to devise a more generic game name than Quest of Dungeons. Common sense says fairy-tale missions and cold, cobwebby castles represent this game’s sales pitch, but the title and retro visuals – because the terms “indie” and “pixel art style” go hand in hand nowadays – do a disservice to the underlying fun. A role-playing roguelike at heart, Quest of Dungeons breaks the mold. Gameplay offers easy turn-based battles against bats, spiders, and skeletons, then shakes up strategies and the tension before boss fights.
I say “strategy” even though most of my tactics involved buffing my hero, then opening doors and blasting bosses with arrows and magic as they shuffled forward. Movement is all grid-based. For every elixir you drink, attack you initiate, or tile you tread, the enemies retaliate with one hit each or inch closer, block by block. Bosses will kill intruders instantly if players squander turns,...

By now, it shouldn’t be news to anyone that former Oasis lead guitarist Noel Gallagher spoke ill of dance music in an interview leading up to his performance at Scottish music festival T in The Park. After claiming that he had no idea who Avicii was and poking that he sounded “like an artist from the Renaissance period,” Gallagher went on to criticize deadmau5 in another interview. See what I mean? This is just an all around great trailer and teases some interesting things. Bond doesn't seem to be following orders this time around, and rather than being on an official mission, he's doing this one all for himself. He's set up a secret base,...

He dominated the 90s with hits such as Trainspotting and The Full Monty, but has spent the past 10 years avoiding blockbusters. Now he’s back as the director, and accidental star, of Glaswegian comedy The Legend of Barney Thomson
Robert Carlyle walks into the room holding a small, pale pink alarm clock. Not, it turns out, a way of keeping tabs on how long he has to put up with me, but a present from Lorraine Kelly, whose TV show he’s just come from. “That’s going in my daughter’s bedroom later,” he says, with an hint of paternal triumph.
If being invited on to breakfast TV is any guide, Carlyle is still riding the wave of admiration, respect and popularity he earned in the mid-90s, when first Trainspotting and then The Full Monty propelled him to household-name status. But in truth, he’s been off the...

It looks like Belgian movie legend Jean-Claude Van Damme is back on the scene (in China, specifically). He’s lending his extremely flexible physique to what appears to be a quirky and fun superhero action-packed comedy entitled Jian Bing Man, which delightfully translates to “Pancake Man.” Van Damme is only playing a supporting role in the film, but fans will surely be intrigued by his footage in the trailer (he’s clad in a white suit fighting a man in a cape and spandex, I dare you not to be intrigued). While the trailer only displays Van Damme in one scene, some behind the scenes footage shows Van Damme appearing to have a grand old time.

Kim Kardashian doesn't let critics or hateful comments get her down. In the final installment of her interview with Access Hollywood, Kim addressed some of the negative attention she receives on social media and during interviews. "I get more fed up with questions like . . . 'How do you feel when people say, what do you do?' and I'm like, I'm here working, aren't I? Like, I'm here to promote something," Kim explained. "I said, 'Hey, why don't you do this - tell someone else that you think can do it. Tell them to do everything that I've done in my career and see if they end up where I'm at. Try it. Just try it. I dare you.'" She also talked about whether she reads comments on social media, saying that she does "sometimes" and she draws the line when someone says something negative about her daughter, North. In that case,...

She’s always had to deal with naysayers, and Kim Kardashian told Billy Bush that she’d like to see her critics keep up with her crazy career.
During her interview on “Access Hollywood,” the “Disaster Movie” actress explained, “I get more fed up with questions, like, I was traveling recently and I was doing a press day and people were like, ‘How do you feel when people say what do you do?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m here working aren’t I? Like, I’m here to promote something.’ I said, ‘Hey why don’t you do this: Tell someone else that you think can do it. Tell them to do everything that I’ve done in my career and see if they end up exactly where I’m at. Try it. Just try it. I dare you to try it.”

The Star Wars franchise is going strong 38 years later. But what about the artists and filmmakers who helped make the 1977 original a hit?
In theatres all over the world in 1977, audiences thrilled at the sights and sounds of Star Wars. Harking back to a bygone age of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, it also pointed forward to the coming age of ubiquitous computers and special effects-led blockbusters.
But while the triumphant fanfare of John Williams' score gave Star Wars a confident swagger, its success was far from preordained. George Lucas reworked his script time and again; studios turned his concept down; even the production was rushed and torturous.
By now, the contribution George Lucas, John Williams and Star Wars' cast made to cinema is well documented. But what about some of the other artists, technicians and fellow filmmakers who helped to make the movie such a success? Here's...

Netflix‘ Daredevil, the latest installment in the comic world’s takeover of pop culture, does one thing exceptionally well, and it may be all that matters.
The story is that of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), and we enter the series with the accident that left him blind when he was nine. Something about the chemical spill that resulted in his blindness left him with his other senses super-heightened.
Now a lawyer, with partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Murdock has become fed up with life in Hell’s Kitchen, and he turns to life as a vigilante. Hoping to help those in need, both by day and by night, Murdock finds himself embroiled in a massive conspiracy to take over crime in the city, and it becomes increasingly difficult to keep his personas separate.
His first case seems especially difficult, and his client Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll – True Blood) was...

Taylor Swift, a woman of many moods and exactly one lipstick, just threw down the third video from her blockbuster album "1989." "Style" is a slow throb, a pleasant recollection of quaint memories with a cute boy who resembles James Dean. This is a big deal because Taylor Swift loves James Dean and knows all of his posters. The video is a B- effort full of familiar Swift sentimentalism. Let's take a walk through a gallery of "Style" and see what kinds of artistic insights we come up with. Just as I suspected, Taylor Swift's innermost feelings -- when revealed -- look like Britney Spears' "Sometimes" video. All this girl wants to do is run around with a pink ball and wear white midriff sweaters on the pier. Duh. Moodz. It's kind of weird that we have a superstar who takes most of her visual cues from that Sixpence None the Richer song.

Everyone’s been coerced into doing something they’d rather not do, all in the name of a dare. From frazzled eyebrows, to embarrassing photographic evidence, we’ve all got something to show from a dare that seemed like a good idea at the time.
Most of the time, such dares are just (relatively) harmless fun – if a bit irresponsible. Unfortunately, some people aren’t fortunate enough to get away with just a bit of social media embarrassment. On occasion, the phrase “I dare you…” has led to some incredibly perilous situations, often in a way that no one could have predicted. In the instances where this has had a fatal outcome, it can be tricky to discern just how much blame can be attributed to the darer.
This article takes a look at ten dares that went horribly wrong for those involved. The initial dares range from the mundane to the outright ridiculous,...

It seems like just yesterday I laid out my favorite gown, lovingly shaved my legs (all the way up to my eyebrows) and proceeded to bronze myself in places I never knew existed (all with the help of a selfie stick).
News: Et's Full Golden Globes Coverage
The year was 2014, the night was the Golden Globes, the time... 6 a.m.? And then it hit me: Not only hadn't I been nominated, I hadn't even been invited to the after-parties. I hadn't even been able to snag a table at my favorite bar known as the Cheesecake Factory where I could sit alone with a glass of Kim Crawford and loudly comment on the proceedings to everyone's delight. The following contains spoilers from this week’s Person of Interest.
On Tuesday night, CBS’ Person of Interest — as it is now almost expected to do during its “trilogy” events — dealt viewers a devastating blow when Shaw put her life on the line (and seemingly lost that bargain) in the name of assuring the rest of Team Machine safe escape from Samaritan’s equally trigger-happy troops.
The bad news? Viewers may have seen the last of Shaw, at least among the living. The good news: The character’s exit was orchestrated for the most joyous of reasons, as Sarah Shahi is pregnant with twins.

This year, Insomniac Games gave us an early Christmas present in the form of Sunset Overdrive; a colourful, zany and incredibly fun game that ended up being better than expected. Now, a couple of short months after the Xbox One exclusive Game of the Year contender’s release, the Od-filled and punk rock-fuelled badass simulator has been given added life with a brand new downloadable content campaign titled Sunset Overdrive and the Mystery of the Mooil Rig! Try to say that five times in a row without stopping or making a mistake. I dare you.
As you’ve likely gathered from its overly long and utterly strange title, The Mystery of the Mooil Rig! takes place on an offshore oil rig. Not just any drilling outfit, though: One that has, itself, also been overrun by Od, thanks to a mixture of oil and everyone’s favourite new energy drink. And that’s not all,...

My beloved Chicago Bears are a team in turmoil. After installing a new head coach roughly two seasons ago, the team has simply never gelled since. This being in spite of fielding a team that is built beautifully on paper. Suffice to say as a fan, I’m left crushed and crestfallen.
But whereas die-hard football fans would simply spend the remaining time of the current season hatewatching games and greedily predicting the firing of staff, I myself am choosing a path of less anguish. No denial, anger, bargaining, depression, or really even acceptance. I’m choosing instead the art of distraction. Ok, sure I bet that files under denial, but c’mon: I’m not denying my Bears blew this season in all three phases of the game. Rather than wallow in it, I think it’s a better use of my time to use my somewhat encyclopedic knowledge...
