The most overwhelming feeling I got from this movie was that it is unresolved. You sort of get snippets of information on the different characters, but you never get the full picture on anyone. It gives off a very middle vibe, like they cut out the beginning and end, and you're left with a vague awareness of what's going on. The flashbacks didn't do much to aid the storyline, and in fact the storyline itself moves at a turtles pace. Good cinematography and acting, but overall lacking in substance.

I opted for this movie because of Annabelle Wallis, I liked her in the Tudors and Peaky Blinders.

The movie had a great idea. Girlfriend vanishes but no one seems to help want to find her. She has no background, no family and no backstory. Something only a beautiful woman in a movie can get away with. Boyfriend loves her so starts looking around while "weird things" start to happen.

OK, interesting, keeping my attention. He Forrest Gump's his way through searching for her with a lot of heavy breathing (and not the good kind) while wielding a hammer. Starting to lose me.

All in all not a bad little film but it had no meat. No substance to the story line. Too many questions left unanswered that really would have made the story line work. The movie never answers these questions, and just fades to black with a very predictable ending.

So, I rate it a 5. That's being generous. not bad, semi entertaining. wouldn't buy it or rent it. But meh, not bad.

This movie is as if someone turned one of this hidden object games into a movie. It was interesting while it felt like it was going somewhere but kind of just gives up on it's self. All the information is read between the lines. Lazy ending try's to be romantic in a Bonnie and Clyde kind of way. The
  • This film tells the story of a man, whose girlfriend goes missing all of a sudden. He decides to look for her, using some mysterious photographs that his girlfriend left behind. As he digs deeper, he finds that the truth gets further away.

"Come and Find Me" starts off promising, as the mystery surrounding the girlfriend's disappearance captures me. Towards the middle of the film, the plot gets confusing. The supposed government agent is clearly phoney, but there is little explanation as to what really is going on. The ending just gets me confused even though I rewatched relevant parts of the film, and I still don't understand what exactly leads to the disappearance and the role of the films are.
  • Romantic-Thriller from First Time Director Zack Whedon Featuring Aaron Paul and Annabelle Wallis. It is a Low-Budget, Barely Released Disappointment that gets Everything about Half-Right.

The Thriller Aspects, a Missing Girlfriend involved in Mysterious Goings On who Left the Pining Paul without a Note, is a Setup that is Classical and Consuming. There is a McGuffin (role of film), Gang Members, Intriguing Photographs of Unidentified, Creepy Looking Types, and so forth.

This is a Fine Beginning but as Things Unfold the Director Decides (not advisable) to Portray the Events with Equal amounts of Present Time and Flashbacks. When Things get Tense and Scary the Viewer is Immediately Time Shifted to the Past to Solidify Their Relationship.

After the First Few times this happens it becomes Tedious, Repetitive, and Stops the Films Momentum Cold. It is done with a Dull Regularity and the Story has to Gain Suspense all over again. This is Deadly to the Drama at hand. It Weakens the Movie as it Requires the Reinforcement of already Enforced Dangers.

So it's a Movie of Two Competing and Separate Stories. The Movie is Long at almost 2 Hours and it probably would have Worked Better if the Love Story was Cut by Half and the Flashback Angle was Abandon for a more Linear Approach.

Worth a Watch but be Prepared for a Start and Stop Feel that is Clunky and keeps this from being Less than it Should. All the Ingredients are here for a Good Thriller but the Awkward Mixing Misfires.

First for the Negative: Most of the film just reminded me of many other films, that used the same concept before. The only difference here was the Gender. thou come to think of it there were also movies about man discovering there not who they pretend to be. Also they toy with the concept of switching every 10 min to the past then heading back to the present. This is done so many times it becomes annoying at a point. Think the purpose of this was to give the film some artistic way of viewing the story, but for me it just throw me off the plot.

That said this movie is solid. Aaron Paul does a great job. Also the other actors, the directing, lighting and sound all are up to par.

If you got nothing better to do,grab some popcorn, and have fun.

I have never written a review for any movie, but this movie touched my sanity and requires me to comment.

Having read all 14 reviews presently available, I am non the wiser what this movie is supposed to tell us. To me it is a totally muddled up movie, a mix between the present with flashbacks to the past. It started off well but soon lost its way.

We meet a number of characters throughout the movie without ever knowing them as good or bad and how they fit in the plot. We are not given a proper ending and have to use our imagination how it all ended. If this was supposed to heighten the mystique it failed miserably and left me and probably other viewers completely disillusioned.

A most dissatisfying movie which is best forgotten immediately.
  • An ordinary web designer suffers a great tragedy when his love disappears suddenly and without any trace. Although very affected, he decides to start searching for her, even though clues are seldom, to say the least. What he's about to find, on the other hand, will make him question everything, while the connections he makes are much deeper and frightening that he could have ever imagined.

It's a movie which tries to present a deep mystery about a woman who disappears out of nowhere and her lover who's determined to do whatever it takes to find out what happened to her. Although very promising in terms of ideas, the implementation it choppy, and this is to not make it sound bad. The plot alternates from past to present multiple times in an attempt to convince the audience of the strong relationship the two had before the incident, but unfortunately it's not very credible. And it doesn't stop here. It tells a series of events which are quite incoherent and leave a lot of questions unanswered. To make matters worse, the finale is very inconclusive, leaving the viewer to imagine what he wants, instead of trying to end the story, let alone explaining what actually happened. While the actors were trying to play their characters as good as they could, the dialog didn't help them, being very simplistic and sometimes even irritating, tending to repeat the obvious, over and over again.

Unfortunately, we are facing a below average movie, which had a very interesting premise, but decided to keep the main information for itself, introducing characters out of nowhere without even bothering to tell something about them and concluding the entire plot in a very unsatisfying way. It's almost like they ran out of inspiration

    Meh
This movie had promise and then they squandered it almost from the get go. The movie begins with two people getting off a bus and you are immediately invited to believe that the man is following the woman, when in reality they are performing some sort of role play. It only goes downhill from there. None of the plot points ever get fully explained, it's a mish mosh of action adventure disappearance movie plot lines. Skip It.
  • I ended up liking 'Come and Find Me' more than I thought I was going to. It gets off to a very slow start, and early on it puts more emphasis on the drama side of things than the mystery element. The mystery element is admittedly simple, but it has the potential to be very intriguing with a plot twist or two along the way. Nearing the halfway point in the film I was feeling like I was wasting my time a bit with this film. Then the second half gets under way and things start to pick up a bit, all leading to what turns out to be actually a very well written ending, both entertaining and moving all at once.

It does work as a drama. The flashback scenes were probably the best part of the movie. They were surprisingly well written and had me genuinely buying into the love the two main characters were supposed to share. Aaron Paul was an interesting casting choice. I loved him in 'Breaking Bad', but I never actually liked his character (entertaining and funny as he was) as a person. Here, he actually manages to pull off the "likable" personality trait quite well. I think a lot of that came back to the writing. The dialogue in this film is very well written for the most part.

It's not a flawless film by any means. There are a lot of odd character decisions and some iffy writing of action scenes at times. Overall though I think it achieves what it sets out to. It makes us buy into the love story of the characters and has us caring about their outcome. Don't give up on it too early would be my advice, the second half is much stronger than the first.

    Warning: Spoilers
The love story and opening scene were charming and all. But there was one ridiculous element after another.

They love each other. Then the girl mysteriously disappears. Very sad.

But then the boyfriend finds the hidden photos. In the end we find out that she was some kind of spy who left photographic "insurance" buried in her garden. Granted, electronic copies along with the paper copies and negatives. Negatives? Really?

And one copy electronically on a zip drive. I have multiple copies of my stuff on various drives, down to my short films, various photos and my mp3s. But this deadly spy left behind ONE copy. ONE.

And what're the photos that are so important. One of the bad guy spy, but not of his face. That is her insurance.

And who is this lady brilliant spy? One who leaves behind a volume of photographic leads to her former lives. Not just with her last boyfriend, but the boyfriend before that.

And she apparently went on her Los Angeles spy missions on the bus.

Lost why the black partner of the lady spy took a year to come back and search for those photos.

The very funny element was when the boyfriend packed his bag, along with a handgun and a hammer. He was then allowed to board a plane with that very bag, as he then had both when he arrived in Canada from Los Angeles. (Nevermind the fact that the car he stole off his attacker and then subsequently used later in the movie would have easily been found via GPS.)

I was also lost when the boyfriend was walking in the street of that empty Canadian neighborhood from "something" to that house. He took a big wad of cash off that guy. He couldn't afford a cab?

So, in the end, I didn't care what happened to both of them when they tried their Butch and Sundance routine instead of waiting a few minutes for the cops to show up from all the commotion.
  • I really enjoyed this movie. Very few things to complain about, except maybe the abrupt ending. It would have been nice to understand what happened, but maybe the mystery was intentional. In any case, great film with good actors 👍 👍

Not a bad movie at all! Much better then half the crap Hollywood puts out! Goes to show you that something so simple can be as effective as a huge budget blockbuster movie.

I'll start out that the first half of the movie had me very intrigued. The second half however changed. I thought the latter threw a 180 and went in the direction of action. I feel that if they would have toned it done some, or kept the plot linear to the first have the film would of turned out much better!

I thought the acting was well done from the two leads. Aaron Paul, I thought did a wonderful job! The female lead wad beautiful to look at, and needs more rolls. She is gorgeous! I Can't say much for her acting because her dialogue is mediocre.

I thought the musical score was great. The pacing worked okay for me. Well done to the director of this; good job.

All in all, very enjoyable movie for the first viewing. I would like to see more like this.

    6.5 from me.

I'm sure the director thinks he shot the film in a certain "style". He did not, it's just bad craftsmanship. The script goes the same way, it is probably supposed to convey a sense of realism, while actually it is just boring. Watching Aaron Paul stutter on the phone, disjointed scenes of him talking to friends "have you seen her?". Yea, we get it she's missing.

This is one of those movies that could've been done with a total length of 15 minutes, and that would've been better. Because neither Aaron Paul nor the blonde playing his girlfriend have the screen presence to carry a whole movie, despite Aaron Paul being an excellent actor and a true asset to any TV-show.

The opening scene is him and her following each other to the same home address, discovering they both live there, and being surprised by a framed picture of them apparently knowing each other. That story arc caught my interest, but unfortunately was just foreplay role play.

"Come and Find Me", the missing girlfriend story done wrong. If you want this, watch "Gone Girl", solid directing, and solid script that will hold you in suspense.

    My first ever review.

I only really decided to watch this movie because i'm a big Aaron Paul fan (Breaking Bad fan). The movie was a bit slow to start off with, but to be honest, I was really surprised with it as it reached the ending. The ending of the movie was pretty cool, it was predictable but at the same time unpredictable which made me want to keep watching. The acting from Aaron Paul as always is a 10/10 and Annabelle Wallis is very easy to watch with also a 10/10 for her acting. The plot line made sense to a certain extent, the flash backs were really interesting and at points confusing but all made sense as the movie went on. I must admit, i didn't think i would have enjoyed the movie, as previously stated only watched it because of Aaron Paul, but all in all, i actually ended up enjoying the movie very much. 7/10 for me.
  • This was a good movie that could have been an excellent movie. The character David did things that other movies make fun of, like you need a knife but pick up the banana type things. I liked the actors, but I would like to have been sitting at the table when this was being written and saying, "O.K...that just wouldn't happen. Nobody would do that."

Girlfriend goes missing. Guy looks for her. There is no point to this story whatsoever. Apparently she has been multiple different people with different names, and has gone missing from multiple boyfriends. He finds her, and apparently everyone is trying to kill her over this film. Does not tell who she really is. I dont understand what that film is that everyone is after. Waste of 2 hours.
  • I nearly passed on this film due to the low ratings, then again when I read a few of them but I'm glad that I didn't.

This film is a little slow in places where it shows flashbacks to their relationship and builds picture of who they are. Then she's abruptly gone, inexplicably vanished.

I didn't find it very thrilling however it did hold my attention as he searches for his elusive lover.

The ending was quite strong and seemed quite unambiguous to me.
  • Warning: Spoilers
David (Aaron Paul) and Claire (Annabelle Wallis) are a young couple very much in love. Claire suddenly disappears and a year later David is still looking for piecing together clues from some old black and white photos Claire took. He finds himself in a mystery that gets deeper and darker the further he looks. Film is interrupted by flashbacks that sometimes served a purpose. David is clearly in over his head and he knows it, but persists.

It is a twisty plot. Not much closure. PLOT SPOILER: Zack Whedon's Butch and Sundance ending might have worked better if we knew more of what was going on or got to care about the girl who left and the stupid sap who didn't realize he was being used.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
  • Aaron Paul plays a man whose girlfriend disappears without a trace, and he becomes obsessed with finding her, and discovers a lot about her he never knew.

It's one of those double edge titles. As Paul goes on the journey to look for his girl we flash back and forth from past to present, taking a look at how these two met and fell in love, but you realize Aaron's character never really knew her, so he's doing more than just finding her physically, as it truly is a journey unraveling the complex world she refused to share with him.

Directed by Zack Whedon the brother of Joss Whedon (Guy who created Buffy, the Vampire Slayer), I feel certain simulates in their story telling. I don't want to get into it as it might spoil the movie, but if you are a fan of the type of stories Joss likes to tell than you'll enjoy Zack's story.

It's somewhat a crime drama leaning towards the drama part more often, with a focus on Aaron Paul that puts his leading man capabilities to the test. Plus it's very romantic not just in the story told but how it's implemented.

    Very watchable
  • Warning: Spoilers
This is the dumbest movie I have wasted my time on.

Girl goes "missing" for over a year. Guy is sad. He never goes to work and wears the same jean jacket through the whole movie - I guess then had a small wardrobe budget.

Then she saves him, wants the film that SHE hid, and then the movie ends. No answers - oh my god I want my two hours back!!!!
  • When it comes to movies, I try to steer clear of anything romantic or too heavy on action. You wont find me watching movies like The Notebook nor will I begin to navigate the repertoire that is Steven Seagal's Straight-to-Video library. I like movies that I can tell had thought put into their script, had characters with some to a lot of depth, and a run-time that didn't drag on.

Now that my "disclaimer" is there, I will say this movie touched on what I tend to enjoy most in movies - mystery, leads with chemistry, and believable characters. One of the characters in the movie, I won't say which, borders on the element of believable but still kept my interest.

The story is about David and his search to find his missing girlfriend Claire. What begins as a run of the mill girl-gone-missing story, turns into a thrilling mystery pretty quickly and David soon begins a deeper journey into finding out just what happened to the love of his life. There is plenty of action to keep most guys interested, whereas the relationship (expressed in flashbacks, mostly) to keep any girl interested. It keeps an even pace of action/flashbacks to unfold a journey of one man's quest for the truth.

It raises questions of "What causes a woman, without any problems or fights, to disappear without a single trace (initially). How well do we really know the person we share a bed with every night?" I've rated plenty of movies before, but again, my first review so I hope I captured a spoiler free look. I would've gladly paid to have seen it in theaters (as someone who makes 2 trips a week to the local theater).

Nice movie. interesting and cool in a lot of ways. does have a low budget feel, but entertaining for a one-time-watch, was never bored (1 viewing)

    SPOILERS

there is a possible huge plot hole. if the camera film was so important, why didn't she take it with her when she left. very little was explained about why she left and they left a lot up the viewer so i let it slide.

and i'm guessing a lot of ppl hated the ending. i liked it.. in the situation they were in, they would surely die, so leaving it open ended was fitting. i feel like they most likely died, but i choose to believe they survived and lived happily ever after. and i think the final shot is like a "flash sideways" like Lost tried to do but failed at miserably. i interpret it as what could have happened, in another life, or an alternate universe.

also, this may be way off, but i wonder if it's possible that the spy stuff was all imaginary like the game they played in the opening shot of the movie, and the flash-sideways is the real life? dunno, i might just be making stuff up. i watched this movie when i was sick, and i had to pause it an hour in cause i was starting to fall asleep. i wasn't falling asleep during the movie, i stopped it immediately, but i watched it in two parts, a few hours apart. so i can't remember everything through the movie to know if that theory would work or not
  • Warning: Spoilers
This was a terrific movie that really held my attention . . . right up until the very end, which wasn't an end at all, but a cowardly cop out. It's one thing to give viewers a set of facts, and then let them try to come to one conclusion or another based upon the facts. But this film is a total cheat that never gives you quite enough information to come to a logical conclusion. Basically, what they did was take the ending from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and substituted Claire and David for Newman and Redford. The difference, however, is that we pretty much knew what the outcome of the aforementioned film was, whereas in this film, we are not given nearly enough information to come to a satisfying, logical conclusion. Sorry, but Come and Find Me left me looking for an ending!
  • The description of the movie sounded very interesting to me and I was excited to watch. I was intrigued for the first 1/3 of the movie or so, but then things started to not make sense and get a bit far fetched. I still stuck with it, wanting to like it. However, the movie seemed to drag on and there were things in the second half and the end that didn't seem to fully make sense to me. 6/10.
